The hotel has a very nice view to the canal. The room is spacious with modern fittings , clean with comfortable beds. The hotel is centrally located in the old city and 2 mins to boat rides. The breakfast room retains the old style of the building itself, very cosy with a direct view to the canal. It is very nice to have breakfast there. Staff are friendly and very supportive.

The room is renovated in a nice modern comfortable style. The only thing is the door to the bathroom is glass albeit not transparent but one can nevertheless see what's going on inside as the toilet seat is right next to the door. The glass door is also much less sound proof and it is not altogether pleasant to hear what's going on. I would strongly recommend that the door be changed to a normal wooden one to provide more soundproof as the bathroom is right next to the bed.

Amazing location! We got a room overlooking the canal and woke to swans and coots swimming about every day. Easily walkable to the major attractions. Room was generally clean and serviced daily. Staff was so kind and helpful. Special thanks to the young man who so diligently called us to arrange for us to arrive late after our flight was delayed.

As with most places in Europe there are no window screens and being located over a canal, there were plenty of mosquitos. As it was quite warm (21-24 C) we couldn't sleep with the windows closed, but when we opened them, we got bitten a lot.

This was our 6th stay in Bruges for conferences or vacation. This was our second stay at the Hotel Bourgoensch Hof. (Both times we stayed 3 nights). The hotel is at a perfect location -- better than the other 3 places we have stayed. It is not too far from the nearest parking garage (Pandreitje) and centrally located with respect to the different sectors of town. We have been extremely fortunate to stay in a 3rd floor canal-side room both times. (I think we have the receptionist to thank for that.) An absolutely wonderful view. Probably the best canal view in town. With the windows open at night it can be noisy from activity in the Huidenvettersplein, Vismarkt, and the "Relais..." bar below. Oscillating floor fans would be useful during the summer because it gets warm in the room because the room and the building are illuminated by the sun all day. The solar heating is not a problem during the winter months. We have never taken breakfast at the hotel, but will do that on our next visit because there are extremely few places to find breakfast in town until the hordes arrive. Even Chez Albert doesn't open until 10am!!! There's a coffee bar located in the hotel but it's not clear if that's part of the hotel or an independent business.

It is an old building but with a tasteful modern refurbishment. The location is top notch, being just a two minute walk from the Belfort and all the attractions. The staff were all excellent.

The only thing I would improve is at breakfast having some tomatoes or fruit salad. There was a fruit bowl but I find a fruit salad very refreshing and gets me on the way to my five a day! I have visited this hotel a few times before and a new coffee machine has been installed in the breakfast room recently. As a black coffee drinker I must admit I missed Meera’s homemade coffee 😊.

The hotel is a little dated but that's part of it's charm in a place such as Brugge! We had a river view room and the view was beautiful - exactly as we had hoped for. Breakfast was really good and plentiful and the staff were always polite and helpful. They booked a taxi for us to get to the train station and worked out all the train times to the airport, and which platform to go to, which was a great help on our homeward journey. We also did the Flanders Field day trip which was excellent.

A little pricey but partly because I took up the free cancellation option. Definitely worth paying for the location and the river view though.

Fantastic location - right inthe centre of the stunning town of Bruges - 2 mins walk from the main square andalmost next to the canal. It made it easy to go out and explore and return to our hotel whenever we wanted to The room was spacious and comfortable, staff were helpful. Luggage store was useful for after we checked out

There was a lack of sockets in convenient places in the room so I couldn't charge my phone by the bed We got a bath rather than a shower, this may well have been specified in the booking, but I always prefer a shower. Our room was ground floor and next to outdoor seating for the restuarant. I was worried this would be noisy, but it was silent when we went ot bed

Location, location, location, you right by the market square, right by canal were you get on boat cruises. There are lots of restaurants/bars, chocolate and waffle stores right outside the door. All the attractions are within walking distance. The hotel comes with the “House of waffles”, which also has a bar with outside seating on canal, that is open till 11 pm, it has seating outside all the time. The staff, including the house of waffle staff will go the extra mile to make your stay as comfortable as possible, which is very much appreciated. Our AC did not work in the first room and they did not hesitate and moved us to a room, which included a king bed, plenty of room for luggage, large closet, a million outlets, kettle with coffee/tea, a large TV, Mini fridge and desk/chair. The huge bathroom had a tub with shower, great hot water pressure, toiletries and hair dryer. Ac and Wi-Fi worked great. The Wi-Fi even worked in the seating outside, total bonus. I recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

We liked everything.

The location in Bruges is amazing! The view of the back of the hotel from the canal is stunning. At the time of our booking we booked an internal courtyard view. From our room were still actually able to see part if the canal. I was worried we would not enjoy the room but it was actually quite pleasant. The room and tea and coffee service. We had a deep soaking bathtub that was comfortable. The staff, especially the guys at the waffle and bar area were really friendly and superb. I asked for a non-slip mat for the tub because it was quite deep and slippy for a shower. The staff had no problem at all sending a non-slip mat to our room. That was greatly appreciated. The staff also helped arrange a taxi back to the train station for us. The service was fantastic!

The hotel itself in general is very clean and comfortable, secure, updated. It could do with a new lick of paint. The paint work was a bit marred and scuffed. This was totally cosmetic and did not impact the quality of our stay.

The location in Bruges cannot be faulted. Central close to all attractions, walking distance from everywhere. Hotel was smart, clean and reception very good. The room had river view which was very pleasant and picturesque.. Breakfast was excellent. A comprehensive choice of hot and cold food, juices, yoghurt etc. A plus was that I reserved one of the the hotel parking spaces, worth every penny. A couple of hundred metres from the hotel in a secure locked garage, it enabled the car to be left for the duration of the stay without any concerns. The alternative (slightly higher price) is public parking wherever it can be found.

I would not describe the room as luxurious. A basic room. An old tired chest of drawers for clothes had most of the handles missing and a wardrobe with two hangers. Tea/coffee making facilities were minimal and furniture consisted of a bed (good size and comfortable), two small velvet covered seats and minute table. No sofa so very difficult to relax. A large wall TV was good and there was a valuables safe and small fridge (?) (unused). Heating very good (except bathroom with no heating). Overall however a bit disappointing having read the description before booking and the additional cost for the river view. Room tidy simply consisted of renewing towels and other consumables, nothing else touched.
