The hostel is super cute, clean and cozy. The staff are all very nice, warm and helpful. I love the high ceiling and the fire place in the building where you can meet people from different places. Dorms are nice and quiet without shower room inside so you don’t have to worry about the noise while you sleep. They do have toilet in the room so no need to go out of room in the middle of the night. It is perfect for solo travellers even friends/ couples if you are going to spend the day out exploring or do snowboarding (which I think most people will do that as there are too many things to do in Banff) and come back to the hostel in the evening to just chill. They also have breakfast menu, the burrito is pretty good.

We stayed in a 4-bed mixed dorm. Each bed has its own locker where you can keep things. However, don't forget to bring your own lock and keys. A decent kitchen space with a cafeteria. The staff did a great job in keeping the property clean. The location is great and we are provided with a free ROAM service day pass which can be used for Routes 1, 2, 4 and 6.
I found my pillows very hard. A softer pillow could have been served. The price of the hostel is on the higher side, but considering it is in Banff, I think it is expected.

Very nice hostel, not far from tunnel mountain so an easy hike nearby. Bus service is just down the road, and they provide you with a free bus pass. Otherwise the walk downtown is not too far. Reasonable prices for laundry. Good coffee for a small cost, provided with extra towels when need be. Clean toilets and showers.
I struggled to sleep sometimes, they assign your bed ans I had a top bunk for a week which became slightly annoying. Lack of places to fill water bottles, I was told use any tap but it would have been nice to have a water dispenser somewhere.

The location of the Hoastel is great. Very near to no.2 bus shop and very easy to go there. Even you miss the bus, you can walk downhill for 10-15 mins to downtown Banff. ( That what we did every morning, the view is amzing!) The staff are friendly and helpful, it is so happy to have wonderful experience with them.
I would said there have some room card are not working properly, almost every day I need to go to reception and renew my card, otherwise I can't get in my room. However the staffs are amzing, they really willing to help, and our room is close to reception so it isn't a big problem for me!

Great place at a decent price. Clean linens, great self serve kitchen and coin laundry. Showers were hot and soap/towels provided. Too much to do in just one stay, lots of lounge/social areas. View is incredible. Lots of people from different places. Dorms were nice too, most people respectful.
No fault of the hostel at all, but Banff townsite is an overcrowded tourist trap. The "outdoors" stores lack much in the way of real gear (with the exception of Monods). Again, no problems at all with Hi Banff Alpine Resort.

The staff were really friendly and the place had a real home-from-home feel. The kitchen area is nice and big with multiple cookers if you want to prepare you own mean. There is an eating area attached to it. There is a bar on site as well as an excellent cafe/restaurant. I can highly recommend the food. The hostel also runs activities including guided walks around the area. I would stay there again
We were is a private room which was very small - don't take a lot of luggage! It is a bit of a walking distance away from the centre of Banff. They do, however, provide you with a free bus pass to use the local buses to get there

The Hostel was extremely welcoming and was very well maintained. I will definitely stay here again. The pub underneath was very nice and welcoming and made for a great evening activity before bed. I appreciate the amount of storage space available. Bring several padlocks and be diligent about putting away your belongings, and there is no way they will get stolen. Anyone that says they had things stolen simply didnt take the time to store them properly. The counter in the lobby will sell you padlocks as well.
I have no complaints, I will be back soon.

the staff was super friendly and helpful, and I really like the architecture of this place! it’s mostly made of wood so it feels very rustic and kind of like a summer camp. this place is located about a 25 minute walk or 8 minute bus ride from downtown, but the walk is super beautiful, and they provide free bus passes too which are super helpful! there is also a restaurant inside which serves breakfast and dinner, and the food is super good with lots vegetarian and vegan options, and not as expensive as downtown banff
the only thing I noticed is that in the bedroom, you can’t actually lock our things in the lockers because the handle to open the lock and the thing to put your lock in are pretty far from each other. the rooms were very hot too (around 25 Celsius) and I couldn’t find a way to adjust the thermostat. but overall this was a very nice stay and would definitely recommend this place if you’re in banff!

Bunk bed accommodations were very clean and comfortable. Loved that everyone had clean linens on their bed and a charging outlet for cellphones and such. The cafe area was beautiful leading out to a lovely deck area. So close to the city of Banff.
For $434 a night we were not allowed to eat our own muffins in the cafe area, mind you, this is a hostel. Price per night too steep for a hostel setting, having to share bathroom facilities. I would have loved to stay another day, but way too expensive. Had I made reservations earlier I could have found something more cost effective but wouldn't get that nice rustic feeling. It's a shame. Great accommodations but definitely not a "hostel" price. Parking was very difficult to find. Has to park on grass.

Didn't eat breakfast at the restaurant onsite. The overall experience at hostel is excellent and the best in Banff period. You are surrounded by nature and it's got a cool cabin vibe. The staff is amazing and welcoming. It's an easy trip by bus to town and they even give bus tickets. It's also a very easy walk into town if you choose. They also have group activities for each day. There is also a cool little bar downstairs.
I wish the beds had privacy curtains. I also wish the main building and a cool lounge where you could watch tv and or hangout and play games.
