We have been here before and like the facilities. We like and use the Galloping Goose trail . The lady at the front desk was awesome and so friendly & helpful. The pool was fun.

There could have provided a couple of extra blankets for cooler nights. The railings in the bathroom were almost detached. Being so close to the Galloping Goose trail, it would have been wise to have bike storage.

The room was modern and clean, it had a full kitchen, the beds were comfortable, the TV was a good size, and laundry facilities were available. There was a vending machine for drinks, snacks, and laundry detergent. The staff was lovely and helpful. We stayed 3 nights.

Parking was mostly at the back of the large building, and there is no back entrance. You have to climb about 20 stairs and then walk around the building.. There is a liquor store and an authentic Chinese restaurant in the building. These make the building busy and the front door parking hard to come by.

The staff, the room and the facilities. Especially the pool which was well kept and warm. When we needed something the staff responded immediately. Also, the rooms are equipped like a cottage so that you can do your own thing without having to spend a lot of time going out for meals.

It not a dislike, but rather a recommendation that when the bathrooms (ours was limited in space, but efficient) are to be remodeled, they should eliminate bathtubs which are dangerous, especially for seniors. Showers are much more efficient and they save water.

As I have stayed here before on several occasions, I knew about the Red Lion's convenient location - as a jump off point for bus transport throughout the city and beyond. Only a few minutes' walk to the Uptown Mall, and 10 minutes by bus to downtown Victoria. The rooms are clean and staff is helpful and business-like. My room - with its kitchenette, was extraordinary value when compared to most Canadian hotels. (Of course, it is low season.) Attached Chinese restaurant was convenient, though pricey.

Rooms have different layouts and some work better than others in terms of the layout for a working, or dining table. Walls are a bit thin, perhaps.

The price is right! I was pleasantly surprised with this stay as it was very nice. The bed was comfy. There was an extra blanket in the closet which I personally love!! The location was great and close to a lot of amenities. Nice there was a liquor store and Chinese food reaturant connected. Staff were great. Rooms appeared to be clean. Rooms were well stocked with supplies that you might need for longer stay. Really surpassed my expectations!

Neighbors were noise as it appears there are likely thin walls. A pair of earplugs fixed that and the sound was gone. They had a luggage storage, but it was really small. Not enough if there were multiple people storing luggage and no tags on luggage to track whose was whose.

Great, efficient staff. They were quick to meet any requests. It was very clean. Even the toaster! The bedroom was wonderful! The 2 TVs were a big size. LOVED the make up mirror!! Toiletries were good quality. We did not use the pool or bar so not sure about those. Overall an AMAZING 5 day stay! Thanks!!

We were a party of 3. One slept on a pull out sofa in the living room area. There are 2 high skylights that make it very light, very early in this area. Bring a sleep mask!! The sofa pullout was somewhat comfortable for 1 person and easy to pull out...but not a "traditional" sofa bed. The area is much smaller than the pictures and the 3 seat table is a bit tight to get into on the far side with the big couch. A smaller table might be better?

Red lion was really clean and well organised. The rooms were very good sizes and had great kitchenettes. our largest room was so well set up you could make meals easily and it had a table for meals. It was across the road from a shopping centre and supermarkets which was handy. the bike track was on one side of it leading into the main tourist area. really good parking complimentary. very glad we stayed here.

The only thing I misunderstood but it worked out in the end was the location in relation to the city centre tourist district. I thought it was an easy walk which it may have been but it seemed further than i anticipated so we ended up taking Ubers in for dinner which were very affordable.Im sure there would have been buses also as a big road leading into the main district. Red lions prices and rooms were so much better that the Ubers were worth it, plus we drove a lot to areas out of the main district and that was so easy as Red Lion is on a main road.

Rooms look better in person! Comfy beds, front desk member was so brilliant. We had a ferry cancellation so couldn't make it for our first night. He amended the booking really quickly at no extra cost and ensured our room was prioritised for the next morning when we arrived. Very clean.

Location was a bit out of town, we had a car so didn't cause any problems.

The staff at the front desk for our evening check-in were truly friendly and accommodating. I believe they may have also been on the desk when I called later in the afternoon following our check-out to ask if someone had found my small dental appliance left behind in an amber pill container. They offered to check and call back, and did just that reporting that it was found. My husband was able to drive to Victoria to pick it up the next day.

We had only one minor concern. Both my brother and I are sensitive to heavy perfume or cleaning scents, and the room was heavily scented. We were glad that we could open the windows and air the room out; however, in my case with a mild headache and my brother a sore throat for a little while. We were glad the room aired out before too long.
