Stunning location with view / balcony looking out over waterfront area

When booking in we got offered a room upgrade which we turned down, then the upgrade price was dropped and we turned it down again and then finally we got the upgrade for free as that was the only room they had available anyway. Sneaky behavior we thought, trying to get us to pay extra for something they had to give us anyway! But wow, the upgrade was to a fabulous room.

An incredible view of the Victoria Harbour if you book the right room. Parliament Buildings lit up at night were spectacular. Everything within easy walking distance, and if not, lots of harbour ferries. No restaurant, but lots of variety close by, ranging from quite sophisticated to great fish and chip trucks. Generally quiet. Staff friendly and helpful.

Missed having air conditioning. Had a great patio and tried to get the ocean breeze through the big windows, but when the larger ferries in the harbour came and went, a strong smell of diesel fuel came into the room, so had to close the windows. Didn't use the patio. A shame as the view was so grand.

Stunning views facing the harbour and very convenient location. All aspects of the suite, including the layout of rooms and other features, were thoughtfully designed. Also, very friendly and accommodating staff.

It seems all hotels in Victoria are very expensive. It is not a city where you necessarily get value for money when it comes to accommodation. The Victoria Regent Waterfront, which is a very nice hotel, does not offer breakfast (there is no restaurant) and there were no work out facilities. But I am not sure that it would be any different for other similarly-priced hotels in the area.

The location cannot be beaten. Except when we went to the Butchart Gardens and the next day drove around to see more of the city, we did not need to drive: we walked. But no need to walk far! The staff were first class; knowledgeable and helpful. Overall, a great place to stay. My wife wants me to say "It was a nice room and comfortable bed." Victoria is a great place to visit as are the Butchart Gardens.

I'd have given a 10 rating but I never do! Sometimes the hotel does not live up to expectations. This one did.

location is amazing for those without a car and for those with a car the underground parking is secure and easy to use and access.

the only complaint I have and it’s easily ignored with the nice kitchen that was in my room is the lack of a breakfast bar of any kind and no complimentary snacks or refreshments. they have a great place, amazing location with wonderful staff and if the reopened their kitchen they would be an honest 10 across the board. also great selection of kitchen items were provided and the room is very well equipped with everything but no tea kettle? I found that a bit odd in a very British like city.

Excellent location. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean and spacious suites. Was upgraded to a water view upon check-in, which wasn’t expected. Spectacular view of the harbor. Wanted to stay longer!! Highly recommend and will plan to come back.

Be sure to read the instructions about parking first, then checking in. Had to go around busy block to park after the fact. Would be helpful if more prominent parking signage was posted if possible.

Fantastic location within walking distance to everything in Victoria. Beautifully maintained property, clean and comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We got a free upgrade to a beautiful suite looking at the harbor. A great few days in Victoria!

Part of our suite looked over a small park with homeless people, but it really didn't bother us. It may upset some people.

Excellent location in the town centre and with amazing views over the harbour. Extremely spacious, comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen which was cleaned every day (even the dishwasher was emptied!) Very friendly and supportive staff, offering a late check-out (without us asking for it specifically) and having provided King rooms even though they were originally not available.

The location was fantastic and the hotel rooms and reception area were meticulously clean. The staff were friendly, quick to help and informative. We especially appreciated a follow-up call from one of the receptionists following our departure to explain an overcharge and reimbursement. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Victoria.

There’s not one thing I can think of

Location! You can walk to shops, tourist attractions, Chinatown. Free covered parking. Lovely front desk staff and other staff. The hotel has a fabulous view of Harbour or if on City side the lit up législative building, (gorgeous). The Johnstone Lift Bridge is fascinating to watch from the water view rooms too!

No complaints with this lovely condo/hotel. I have been coming here to The Regent since 1994, and have recommended many friends and family. I have no complaints. Have stayed in a king room, 1 bedroom suite, 2 bedroom suite and an 1800 sq ft Penthouse suite! Huge balcony too. Deluxe, hands down the best place to stay in Victoria!!
