The Poppy room was very spacious and bright and cheery. There were plenty of linens and the fridge and coffee supplies were very handy . Close to public transportation. The water taxi is right outside. The public bus stops right beside the park . Bus #2 and #5 go right downtown and out to Oak Bay. ($5 for a full daypass!) There are plenty of walkways nearby and around the Bay . The owner is very helpful and lives upstairs. She gives you your privacy as the guests and owner share a common entrance, and meets you to go over check-in. She also was kind enough to allow us to drop off our bags early.

We travel to Victoria several times a year and recently decided to treat ourselves to a stay at the Fisherman's Wharf Bed and Breakfast. We had seen the B&B before and thought it looked cute and now that we have stayed there we can confirm it is cute inside as well! We stayed in the Poppy room (1 of 2 rentable rooms), and it had delightful elegant poppy décor. The room was more spacious than we anticipated, the bed was comfortable, everything was clean and well cared for and we felt very welcomed when we arrived. We were surprised to find that the B&B isn't noisy in the daytime or at night and having our own little balcony over the water was a treat. There are lots of windows so it is bright inside. There was some gentle movement from the water (there was a breeze but not a strong wind) but it didn't bother us at all. We were given a coupon for breakfast at the Imagine Café which serves organic food and offers ' an experiential & transformative learning space designed as an internship business program for young adults, all cultures & all abilities.', which we thought was wonderful. We both had their French Toast with whipped cream (hey we're on vacation!), which was delicious but we were so tempted by their pastries we bought scones for breakfast the next day. We really love the way these two business mutually partnered to support each other's local business in such a positive way and it was a real win win for us the guests. Parking was included in the cost and was easy to find and close by. Overall it was a great place to stay and we have already posted about it and told many friends because it was a much more enjoyable place to stay than a standard hotel!

The in-room (Poppy room) coffee machine didn't work very well but we were given free coffee at the Imagine Café so it wasn't a problem.

Carene’s Float Home was the best B&B we have stayed at!!! The Fisherman’s Wharf location was fabulous with quaint restaurants and small tugboat transportation steps away. We kept hearing people say “I wish we had stayed there”! We will definitely be back!! Thank you again Carene for your hospitality! Julie

imaginative combination of yogurt, fruit and honey for breakfast. liked the back deck and outdoor atmosphere. Looking forward to visiting again when the weather is better.

We just assumed there would be a tv. Not a huge thing, and its on us for not checking. There were a couple of pillows that were kind of hard, again not a big deal

Localization is wonderful and the view from balcony is amazing. The room is super comfortable and cozy. Everything what we needed was in the room. The breakfast recommended by the host is the best restaurant in Canada I have ever eaten in my life. Moreover, the host is really friendly, lovely, caring and flexible (we had some problems on the road and we had to ask to reschedule the check in time - No problem!). I recommend this place to everybody!

Everything was perfect for us!

We had the breakfast coupon in a cafe close to the hostel which provide us very great breakfast with a big portion, though the choices are only about 3-4. The host has made us breakfast for another day as well which is very delicious. A special experience with a floating house. The room is very cozy when lots of choice of drinks, together with the little balcony aside.

We still do not get use to the motion from the floating house after 3 nights of staying, however, it is still a very special experience. The room is cozy but with some dirt or food remaining on the bed when we arrived.

Ok…this is one of those places you see everyone walking by talking about how cool it would be to stay there…all while we were sitting on the deck over the water feeling pretty special because we were the ones staying there!

There was nothing we did not like.

It was a beautiful room in a beautiful location. The whole fisherman's wharf area was colorful and fun. The host brought us a sweet and delicious breakfast!

There was no TV in the room, we like to watch TV at night, but it was fine, we fell asleep pretty fast.

Carene was an amazing host. She helped me get my plans sorted out when there was confusion, she was kind and welcoming. Her B&B was cozy and an amazing location right on the water, and a short walk to downtown Victoria, lots of restaurant choices and activities!

Adorable room on the water! The place was so peaceful and beautiful, and sitting out on the little balcony just above the water was perfect after walking around in the hot sun all day. Breakfast in a basket was the perfect way to start a day. We will be back! Thank you so much!
