Location, breakfast was good but it could have been better if they have different types for different days. We stayed 3 nights and it’s the same breakfast each day except they change one item. The coffee station was only one and usually a big line with so many people at the buffet breakfast. That would work with limited people but we are all in a rush to get going for the day. I would also recommend to have a water station to fill in our bottles rather than inconveniencing someone from the bar to fill it for us when we can get it ourselves or provide water inside the room would be great.

I would appreciate if the staff at the front desk were more friendlier and welcoming to all the guests and I see different approach with different people and color. We are all paying customers and appreciate equal treatment. Even if it’s fake. Personal feeling is different with business.

The reception, bars, restaurants and the communal areas are really lovely and spacious. The location is excellent and the trips pick up at the bus stop right outside. The town is just a short walk away. We stayed on a tower room over looking the sea which gave beautiful views.

The rooms are dated and are need of a revamp. The double room has two beds pushed together and are very hard and we had to ask for a mattress topper which made it more comfortable.

Breakfast was good, lots of choice. Bus stop 12 right outside so convenient for tours. Rooms get quite hot and window only opens a small amount. Tip, don't remove key card when leaving as the window automatically closes when you remove the card

Rooms were very warm and window only opened a small amount and if you kept it open during night you could hear all the buses and pick ups which can be frustrating

The sea view of the room was fantastic and you could stay in the room to watch the sunset. The room was spacious and clean. The Bus Stop No. 12 is right downstairs and it is convenient for pickup of most of the tours and airport transfer.

The breakfast buffet was superb. A range of hot food, including deliciously light pancakes and the best bacon I've eaten. I loved the skyr, fruit and granola "bar". Two juice and coffee stations so even when it was very busy there was a maximum one person wait to get a drink. Staff cleaned away dirty plates quietly and efficiently - save your cutlery if you want to go for another round of food! The coffee was excellent. We filled out water bottles and thermos cups for the day before we left - which was considered completely acceptable. The bread, pastries and meats/cheese/salmon/sliced veggies selection were also very good. We were at Fosshotel for Christmas, Haust was decorated really tastefully for the festive season, with a mini "santa" playhouse for small children. Though most children there were incredibly well behaved and ate quietly. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. We have teen and adult children who appreciated the free Wifi! The rooms were very clean and comfy. Though a little too warm for our liking - we opened the windows at night to cool down. The cool -5 C air reduced the temp a bit but the rooms were still warm, we turned off the radiators. Bedding was clean and crisp. Nice, fluffy towels too! Lovely shampoo/bodywash and conditioner. We had intended on staying 3 nights and then travel to Vik but due to the road being closed we couldn't go. The reception staff were amazing. Our children were able to stay in their room and my husband and I moved (we had to move from a large suite to a standard double) but they found one opposite our children's room. The standard double was smaller but just as lovely. Underground parking (small fee) with lifts to all floors was ideal. No scraping snow off the car in the morning!

The scrambled eggs were a bit overcooked, slightly too bouncy. But that's a personal preference. Otherwise I can't fault the breakfast at Fosshotel. The second room - the I think it needed a bit of attention and in our rush to the airport I forgot to mention a couple of things. The TV settings were faulty- we couldn't get the subtitles to turn off (we managed to and then they'd turn back on without anyone touching anything!) and the hairdryer was broken. TBH we only watched the news in the morning and evening after a day out so it wasn't a big deal. I let my hair dry naturally in the warm room, which wasn't a big deal for me either. Room 811. I would absolutely recommend Fosshotel!

Good selection of food at breakfast. Long lines at coffee machines. Maybe more premade drip coffee during peak time. Having small store in lobby very convenient snd good selection. Did not eat at restaurant or use room service. Hotel in great location to waterfront and main city part of city.

I was at hotel 2 times in the week. First room 708 lovely. Good space and conveniences. Wish I had time to use tub. Upon return later in week I had room 345. This room is 33% smaller than other rooms for same price. There is no tub and open shower style. The angled wall made it hard to use TV, thermostat and other conveniences that were on unreachable side of room. There was only 0.5 m between wall and bed. The “desk” was also cut in triangle shape to fit in front corner and right in front of door. Chair did not fully fit under desk. Probably a safety issue for egress in emergency. So unfortunately I had a bad impression for my 2nd visit and final night before departure from Iceland.

The location is central. Bathroom with big soaking tub. Heated floor and towel rack. Separate Shower. Gorgeous Harbor View. All tours and airport pick ups right outside the door. Great vibe and food in beer garden. Staff efficient and nice

The room was very hot. When I told front desk they put a note for housekeeping to keep the window open and provided me with a fan. Problem Solved. The sun sets around midnight and although they say they have black out curtains. They definitely aren’t. Luckily I always travel with sleep masks and ear plugs so make sure you do as well

We picked this hotel because our flight home from Reykjavik to Isafjorður got cancelled. Staff was very helpful and they have really saved our day with their positive attitude as we were very upset getting 5-6 delays in a row, traveling with a baby. They provided us with a baby cot for free and provided us with all the things we needed so thanks to them. The breakfast was nice, plenty of options and the room service food was exceptional (we ordered fish and chips and chicken, we specifically loved the fish). The room also had amazing view of the city.

The TV was not working quite well. Few channels and RUV was out of signal whenever we tried to open. Sound insolation was kind of bad as we could hear our neighbours upstairs moving their chairs in the middle of the night.

Good staff , helpful - clean room, nice view - good mattresses/beds !! The staff was nice and generally I felt really good about staying here. Will be back anytime I’m in Iceland. Breakfast was good . Easy walk to dinner and waterfront. Street parking was easy after the hotel staff explained it and I never had to use the garage. You can pay for parking on the parking app and also I think some places nearby on weekends is free. But check the signs.

There is no parking lot but it is easy to get street parking . Tour busses idle out on the street early in the morning. They should turn off the engine because you can hear it easily in the rooms. There is no real drop off place for the lobby but you can sometimes get parking or just pause to throw out your bags at the front. It is also not that hard to bring from the parking areas (about 1 -2 block away or closer). Sometimes big groups are in the lobby but I always lucked out and didn’t encounter them when checking it so I never waited. Coffee machine at breakfast was broken but you can get regular coffee anyways.

Breakfast was excellent and room was great. Location was also good and central to lots in town. Staff helpful and friendly. Our view was also good and happy that they put our rooms next to each other

The cost was more than it should have been especially when you have to pay for 2 rooms for a family of 4 when normally you should be able to fit 4 in one room—these rooms are not big enough for 4 people. I also think the rooms should be cleaned every 2 days at least and not have us keep asking for things.
