Fantastic location. Bus stop #13 is right in front of the hotel which makes day trip pick up and drop off super easy. Close to many restaurants and shopping area. Great accommodation. Big and delicious breakfast buffet spread. Friendly and helpful staff

Location: around the corner from Loa Restaurant, which we greatly appreciated in the cold winter Breakfast: get there ON TIME because everybody is going on a tour and will be queuing up for a table! Needless to say, breakfast was an amazing spread with plenty of Icelandic fare as well. Was nice to try skyr, rye bread and marinated herring! Outdoor pool, indoor thermal spring and sauna: this was definitely the highlight of our stay, since during our trip, the lagoons were either full or closed. You have the option to order from the bar straight from the outdoor hot pool!! It is also open till 10pm. Amazing to have a drink in the 40C water while it's snowing on you. With the number of people at breakfast, they are very smart to provide small plates to prevent wastage.
Perhaps a sign could be put up at spa area and outdoor pool to remind guests to keep quiet and not use their mobile phones (ESPECIALLY for video calls. Who wants to be randomly filmed in their swimsuit??). Very loud chatting kind of put a damper on our experience. It's not nice to be relaxing in a hot bath with the snowflakes falling on you while you listen to someone's loud life story or opinion on politics...

I stayed 5 days in Midgardur and I was sorry when I left. A hotel with an excellent position, with rooms with minimalist furniture that does not tire, with a lot of warmth. Excellent breakfast and the restaurant with refined dishes. I especially appreciated the kindness of the staff at the reception and the help given to solve other problems not directly related to the hotel: information for parking lots and their payment method, related to excursions, transfers of others. In contrast to the cold weather and the strong wind outside, the hotel was an oasis of warmth.

The breakfast was very cold and not many options also the bakeries wasn’t fresh at all. I had 4 nights and all of them are the same.

This property is on the edge of the downtown area, and weather permitting, you could walk downtown to the core entertainment. Breakfast each morning in the on site restaurant,Jörgensen and their wonderful staff. The food was amazing although the selection was limited and repetitive, however there was always fresh fruit and pastries, variety of breads and cereal options. Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage hash browned potatoes and roasted tomatoes. All served buffet style. The most amazing item on the breakfast bar was the Cod liver oil, which we saw many people taking. The front seat staff was also amazing and very helpful with any issues you may have and always seemed happy to assist. Special shout out to Veronica, who seeemed to always be there smiling and eager to help Many dining options within a short walk for traditional Icelandic food
Rooms were small with minimal closet. There were hooks for coats inside the door, but for us, (we had a lot of luggage) we found the space somewhat confining. However we managed and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We did not take advantage of the spa option(added cost) but now think we should have.

Fabulous new hotel next to bus stop 13. Perfect for tours, airport transfers. 5 min walk to start of more tourist areas and close to church, famous bakery, cafes & Reykjavík Coffee Roaster. It was quiet at night and I chose this property based on the reviews for “quiet” away from bars (due to early touring). I liked the daily breakfast. Boiled eggs, breads, cheese, fruit, home made cakes! The front desk staff were very helpful. I requested a quiet room with walk in shower and they could accommodate. I loved the outdoor hot pool although I wish had used it more, was just so busy. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are happy for a fringe location, not in the main square & happy to walk to the attractions/and a very easy bus stop 13 at the door. It ticked all the boxes ! Really happy with my stay here. Note weather was very sunny so I didn’t walk in the rain to centre of town.

Great location, plenty of car parking space. The spa being included was a huge plus! The room was clean and well equipped with everything you'd need. The bed was really comfortable, I slept very well every night. The staff were nice, didn't have to deal with them too much which is a good thing!
The rooms were on the smaller side once you have two large suitcases in and there is nowhere to put them so they were very in the way. There was no free bottle of water which I always feel is a nice touch in a room. None would put me off returning, I'd recommend the hotel to anyone needing somewhere to stay in Reykjavik.

Location was very close to bus stop 13 and very convenient to walk into town and other bus stop locations for tours. Spa facilities was very nice especially the sauna.
Breakfast seemed a bit basic. We had an early tour at 6:45am so requested if there was a breakfast box they can offer however it was only a box of croissants and juice that you had to pack and fill up yourself as there was no packaging available. Lighting of dining room was too dark. The first night the central heating was too cold in the room and could not adjust this in the room however other nights was warm enough.

This hotel has it all! The staff were incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to answer any questions about what to do and where to go. Need a taxi? They’ll have one ready for you in about a minute—so convenient! The restaurant was fantastic, offering delicious food. We had breakfast there daily, and it was the perfect way to start each day. Their coffee was excellent too—I loved it! This is also an ideal spot if you’re doing tours. Bus Stop 13 is right in front of the hotel, making it super convenient for tour bus pickups. On cold days, you can comfortably wait in the cozy lobby until your ride arrives—a small detail that makes a big difference. Our room was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!
I wish I had more time to use the Spa and sauna there.

Breakfast ok. Location of hotel excellent.
We came to breakfast one morning and it was the staff time for breakfast and I felt ambushed. Went to get a pastry but they were all quickly taken by the staff.
