Location was excellent, literally just across the street from the main train station. Very easy access from the airport by tram. Within 10 minute walk of Duomo and 15-20 minute walk of most major attractions. The staff was extremely friendly, and Nadia was just great. She was always smiling, cheerful and happy to help and answer any questions we had. As another reviewer posted, her cappuccino was the best! Breakfast was simple, but very convenient and ideal for our purposes. Rooms were very clean and served the purpose. Will definitely stay here again.

Not much to dislike, but if we were to be picky, the hotel is on the 4th floor and the elevator is a bit slow and small. But, that is all of Italy from our experience.

The hotel is close to the railway station and within easy walking distance of many of Florence's famous sightseeing areas. The staff were friendly, the room was fine for our stay for 2 nights and the bed was comfortable.

The hotel was in a large, old building with other hotels on each floor. We were on the 3rd floor with a lift that was barely big enough for our luggage. The area of the hotel wasn't great but that's what you get for being close to the train station and at a good price.

The staff was really friendly and helpful. Room was 100% clean with all the necessary amenities inside the bathroom (shampoo, soap, really good shower, etc). There was a minibar inside the room, which was a nice surprise. In front and right on the side there are two supermarkets. Right in the corner, a 24/7 Mcdonalds and coffee shops. The location is amazing if you want to walk everywhere. Close to the train station, etc. Nice beds (we stayed in a room for three). I cannot complain.

I can't think of anything really. For some people not having a 24/7 reception is a problem, but not for us. For most of the day, they were there. But we had to get out and catch a train at like 6AM. We knew there was no reception open that early. We talked to the staff and they gave instructions about were to left the keys on the desk and voilá! Pretty easy. By the way, the owner answers any questions on whatsapp right away. So if there is any problem, I guess she will be there asap to help.

Having been let down again by surely Europe’s worst airline, Vueling, who cancelled my flight with about 30mins notice, I was forced to find accommodation for the night in Florence at 6pm. So I arrived pretty frazzled at Hotel Berna. It’s a bit of a job to find as it’s on the third floor above various shops etc, but I got a warm welcome and a large, super-clean and very comfortable room. It was surprisingly quiet, given the great, central location, with excellent double-glazing. But the staff were the best thing about it - lovely friendly ladies at check-in and -out. I’d be more than happy to stay again!

I reported a wobbly shower head on check-out, and got a thank-you for the feedback. No other negatives to report about this excellent budget option!

The hotel was very clean, bathroom and beds were good quality - an additional pillow was welcome! The hotel is very close to Florence SMN station, restaurants and tourist sights. Alina was extremely helpful with finding a nearby laundromat and other local information. We felt very safe in the hotel. We would stay again

Breakfasting options (more fresh, less packaged) would have been welcome; however, I completely understand how difficult it is to cater for people when you're unsure whether they are having breakfast or not

Just minor things like a little more provision for luggage racks/bench for 4 people to easily access.A few more hooks for 4 towels in bathroom and maintenance to PowerPoint's near bedside tables.

Berna is a small, budget hotel very near the main train station. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The front desk closes at about 7:00PM (19:00). The hotel is in a building that houses several other businesses. There is a phone-booth sized lift to the floor where the hotel is located. Guests are given a set of three keys: (1) for access to the building lobby from the street, (2) for access to the Berna Hotel area on Floor 3 and (3) for access to your room. The room and its bathroom were small, but clean and neat. Bed was comfortable.

the location was most convenient for our arrival by train: we were easily able to walk from the train station with all our luggage without needing a taxi, and the hotel is near restaurants for lunch / dinner and very conveniently close to Santa Maria Novella. The room was amazingly comfortable and included a desk for computer users. And the price was very reasonable which is hard to find in the center of Florence. The buffet breakfast was typical and included.

the hotel is in a building which has a very, very small elevator that does not inspire confidence and means multiple trips to get more than one person with one suitcase upstairs [like those photos of how many college students can fit into an old telephone booth].

Hotel is a 5 minute walk from the train station and easy to find. Staff was very welcoming on arrival. We arrived around 9 in the morning and we was aloud to leave our luggage till check in which was in the afternoon. Museums were within walking distance. Room was clean on arrival and also had a fridge. Shower was nice and powerful and warm. Room also had a couple of art pictures which added a nice touch. If I went back to Florence I would stay again

Our stay here was enjoyable! It was close to the train station and all the sights were in walking distance. The room was pleasant, clean and provided all that we needed. The breakfast was wonderful--plentiful with lots of good choices. The best part of our stay was Nadia, the manager of Hotel Berna. She was so friendly, engaging, helpful and has a joyful personality. We had many delightful conversations with her. FYI, when you are looking for the front door to the hotel, there is a metal sign on the building, Hotel Berna, and a buzzer for entry. This door is a shared entrance with 2 other hotels.
