Room: Faced into courtyard, so was very quiet with blackout shutters. Very comfortable beds. Shower had plentiful hot water and pressure. Shower gel, shampoo, body lotion, shower cap, shoe shine, soap provided. Temperature control in your room, so could set it how we liked, but didn't notice if it was air con. Fridge, kettle, TV & hairdryer in room. Lift To all floors. Guest computer & printer in reception to print out boarding passes etc, if required. Breakfast: Very good (fresh prepared fruit/salad, yoghurts, breads, croissants, eggs (boiled & scrambled), cold meats, cheeses, cakes, excellent coffee). Location: Very near tram station into Milan centre. Lots of local places to eat too. Close to Central railway station & where airport busses drop off. Safe area at night for 2 female travellers. Hotel stored our bags on our last day.

The hotel doesn’t look much from the outside but it feels totally different as you walk up the red carpet and into a modern hallway. The staff dress traditionally and it feels like stepping into a hotel of quality. Although the rooms have modern card access, the hanging keys and the room pigeon holes behind the desk add to a feeling of ‘the way it was’ and the staff treat their guests with respect and are friendly and helpful. The room was clean and contained all that we needed for our stay. There was an electric blind at the window to allow you to allow in the amount of sun and light you chose. There was also a mini fridge in the room containing bottles of water. These were chargeable but you could put your own water, or wine, in the fridge. The bathroom was a good size although the shower area was not big. The power of the shower was excellent. Our room was at the front of the hotel and you could hear noise outside during the night. It was okay for us but might bother others. With the blind open we could also see the neon hotel sign but with the blind shut it wasn’t an issue. The hotel has a nice bar area and a pretty courtyard garden which we used as we found the evenings were warm. The breakfast was continental buffet style and was very good. The location of the hotel was particularly good for a flight in from Bergamo airport and had easy access to transport to all areas. The public transport runs until early hours of the morning and It felt safe outside at night. Obviously you need to be sensible, but as a mum and daughter away together this was a big factor. We really enjoyed our stay here and would come again.

Only a small thing. The room was advertised as having air con but it wasn’t on. We asked for it on the first night but was told that other guests wanted the heating on and they couldn’t have both on. It was uncomfortably warm for us on our first night. We asked for a fan the next night and I think they turned the air con on as the unit on the wall started to blow out cooler air. However, it didn’t get very cool but it did make the room temperature bearable. This did not spoil our stay.

It was a joy to spend a week at Hotel Colombia. A long established family runs the hotel with friendliness and attention to every detail. They care deeply about design which has resulted in an elegant, modern atmosphere filled with inspiring art. The nearby metro and tram make it easy to get anywhere in the city. The rooms (perfectly ironed sheets!) are celevery designed and include a long desk that has two chairs. Breakfast is sumptuous, filled with cakes, breads, many fresh fruits, cheeses ( you slice your own!!) and individually made espresso or cappucchino. We took advantage of the gorgeous garden to eat there every morning. This hotel is unusually wonderful and I can't recommend it enough.

Nothing

The hotel is 5 min walk from the train station. It is off the main road where there are plenty of buses and trams. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. The hotel is very clean. Staff were friendly and the breakfast was superb. Nothing is a problem. Good recommendations for restaurants and directions. The bathroom has nice hot water with plenty of towels. There is a kettle and fridge in the room. For a tea drinker that is great. I loved that I could open the window for fresh air. Probably my favourite hotel out of 4 that I stayed at this trip.

It was all good. Gym is in the basement and WIFI kept dropping out.

The breakfast was absolutely delicious, I enjoyed it the most. The staff was also very nice, and the hotel was very clean.

The bed was super short—I don't know how people sleep there. I'm 170 cm tall, and the bed was even shorter. Another thing that ruined my experience was the complete lack of soundproofing. I could literally hear every word from the other room. It doesn't matter if you sleep like an angel—you’ll hear everything. I woke up in the middle of the night when the neighbors returned to their room and started talking.

The hotel is very nice with friendly staff, 3min walk to the train station and 40 min to the dome. We did not use the metro at all :) Breakfast does not have a lot of options, but it's tasty.

The breakfast area is quite small and gets crowded when there are a lot of people, but this is typical in Italy so you have to embrace it. First morning we went late for breakfast and could not find a lot, but they did bring new food once we asked.

SECURITY. Anyone could ask the front desk for your room key without having to show ID. And they announce your room number out loud at the desk and at breakfast

The welcome when we arrived at the hotel! Relatively central and in a quiet part of the city. Breakfast was good with a lot of fruits and vegetables. We were lucky and had our breakfast in the garden of the hotel. The service at the hotel was very good. Good bed. Hotel Initials on the bed linen and name on the towels. Good parking facilities near the hotel. Cool slippers!!

It was not possible to adjust the temperature in the room. The room is quite small if you have big suitcases.

Great breakfast. Easy walk to Milan Central Station which made getting around the city easy.

The insulation between rooms was poor. We could hear people coming and going from their rooms or moving furniture clearly. Also- we did not like their policy of giving the room key back to the from desk each time we left the hotel. Especially because when we returned they did not check our IDs to confirm the room is ours. All we did was walk in say our room # and they gave us the key back. Seems like an easy way to get robbed.

The room was decorated. The beds were comfortable. I appreciated very much the nice bed linens that were quite refined. We had a nice bathroom with all of the comforts and the tv worked well. An elevator to come to the floor with the heavy luggage as well. The location was prime. Only few blocks from the train station and the buses to the airports. Also a mini market a block away and a fe restaurants and pizzeria close by. Breakfast was very good with choice of coke and hot and the ambiance of the breakfast room with outdoor patio was very pleasant.

Something was off with the a/c. It was functioning but the flow was very low and the room was pretty stuffy. Even just a standing fan or a mini fan on the nightstand would have changed the experience to a better one.
