The location is close to Central Station but far enough away from the crowds, on a lovely street in a quaint neighborhood. The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful, including the man who worked at the bar the evening I was there. I felt welcomed from the moment I walked in till the moment I left. You can pre-order items to be placed in your room before your arrival, and everything I asked for was there. I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels in Milan, and Hotel Berna was the first to do that. I had a single room with a very comfortable bed, nice-sized bathroom, and lovely view to the rear courtyard. Everything was nice and clean. I felt very much at home. Thank you!

There was nothing that I didn’t like. Except I forgot to take the yellow plastic duck home with me!

Walking distance to train station and Metro stops. Excellent breakfast in main hotel. Accommodating and helpful staff.

We were in the annex in a room with faulty electricity and heating. At night we went to bed dressed as it was freezing. When one turned off the bathroom light, the entire room lost electricity- clearly a short somewhere. This is a safety concern. Reception staff might learn to smile a bit - the rest of the staff was lovely.

We have always stayed, when in Milan, at Hotel Berna which we discovered in 2006. Pre-Covid, our stays have usually been in the Berna Tower across the road from the hotel and we have always enjoyed our stays there. This year, however, we had three overnight stays in the main hotel - two in the same light and spacious room (109) - and the other in a much smaller, almost claustrophobic, and rather dingy room (408). In future, we will always ask for room size to be specified at time of booking. That said, breakfast here is the best we have ever had. Service is lovely - and, on our last night in Italy, we so enjoyed our quiet time in the bar - again with excellent service. So recommend this lovely hotel!

Breakfast - friendly, obliging and efficient staff. Good variety. Everything I needed for a relaxing start to the day. 24 hr check in after arriving from a delayed train trip at 1.30 am and someone to take my bag to my room at this time. I stayed here many years ago and it is still reliably good.

When I checked out someone to help me to take bag to taxi would have been appreciated due to a mobility issue I currently have. I did ask but they were very busy and seemed to focus on teaching another staff member rather than attending to customer service when requ.

Everything was ok. Can call it Standard. Friendly reception staff, clean room, nice duck as a little compliment from the hotel. Silent conditioner and in addition ventilator on the ceiling. Nice breakfast also.

I expected white-grey coloured room as on the photo, but had a wooden (with blue) one. Need to check photo matching in the room descriptions. But idk maybe it was my mistake...

The proximity to the central station makes it 'a walk away' from the Malpesa T1 airport and also to the metro (green and yellow) and tram lines. It is also a short walk to the Corso Buenos Aires where you can find a loads of shops and another metro line (red). Public transportation is great in Milan. The breakfast was very generous, and you can't even taste everything in one day (unless you really, really like e.g. cakes) The room was very clean and the non-alco minibar is complimentary and filled every day. We had hotel's slippers, bathrobes, multiple towels, and their daily laundry.

We wanted to be close to the train station in order to get to the airport the following morning. I had low expectations given the area but was extremely pleased with the quality of the hotel. The staff could not have been more helpful, not only suggesting a restaurant, but calling for the reservation on my behalf. (Which was an excellent restaurant, by the way.) The breakfast was plentiful and diverse, which pleased each member of the family. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a quality stay with the highest level of service. The room may be smaller than other hotels, but unless you expect to spread out, it is great place to stay.

I like a bigger room, but we were there for the convenience of our flight, so it was not a problem.

Hotel Berna is definitely located in a great place, within walking distance of the Milano Centrale train station, a quick, painless walk of about two blocks. I was greeted warmly by the desk staff, who were kindly and appreciated how tired I was after a long trip to get there, arriving in the evening. It was nice to have a bar with a generous happy hour when I arrived. To be fair, my stay was for only one night, and it was a perfect stop-over before moving on to Verona. I was grateful for the free mini-bar. Breakfast was very good, a typical Italian buffet with all kinds of cheeses and meats and sweet breads and cakes.

I had a single room, and it was rather sparsely furnished and a little on the dark side, but it was quiet, and the bed was comfortable enough. Otherwise, nothing to dislike about this hotel.

Great location, close to the train station and metro therefore easy to get to all the main attractions. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They catered to my gluten free/coeliac needs really well and remembered each day at breakfast what I needed Free water in the room, and free soft drink in the fridge on the first night. Would have been useful to maybe have some labels on the other foods on offer so everyone knew what allergens were in the other dishes. There seemed to be a lot of people asking for gluten free foods so would've been helpful all round. The rest of it was great though and me just giving constructive advice as opposed to trying to be negative. Staff were helpful and went to find out if gluten was in items though when I asked.

Easy to locate the hotel. Very good spread for the breakfast with hot and cold offerings and special coffee on request. Dining room is large and very accommodating. Staff very friendly with owner-managers personally checking-in and out of customers. Good communication before and after the stay via email and made it very welcoming and helpful. Lots of information was sent and links given before arrival. I would return to this hotel and recommend it to friends. Free water and soft drinks in the fridge was very useful. I liked the bidet in the bathroom.

Tea and coffee available in the lobby area. Did not find out about this. Could be better advertised. Mosquitoes in the room from the garden outside.
