* beds - really comfortable with a lot of space * free curry for breakfast and miso soup with rice in the evenings. Also drinks were nice too * public bath - honestly after the first night I didn’t mind being naked among others. It was a great experience which later helped me at onsen * amenities - girl you can come empty handed. PJs, towels, shampoo, face oil, face wash, toothbrush, hair brush… they have whatever you need * location - 6 minutes from Shimbashi station with direct connection with Haneda Airport. A lot of great bars and restaurants in the close proximity. Family Mart next to the hostel. I know a lot of people recommend Shinjuku or Shibuya but I’d choose Shimbashi again - it’s well connected with other parts of the city but without typical for Shinjuku and Shibuya crowds and chaos * it’s women only hostel - you feel really safe. You have your own locker and you can enter the room only using your bracelet. It makes the whole stay stress free

* there is one elevator for 9 floors. There’re stairs but they’re outside and sometimes they’re wet

You have everything you need. A bed, breakfast, anything to drink that you could think of. It’s a little bit away from everything, unless if you are taking the public transportation. The beds are what they say they are. It’s just pods and they are comfortable but you need to get used to it.

The only problem it’s the other guests. You can hear everything all around you. I talked to the staff into changing pods because my neighbor was talking on the phone at night and they didn’t but I think they spoke to the lady because I didn’t hear her after that. It’s not bad, but for western people you have to get used to the “public” showers. Once you get used to it, it’s fine. I think it’s also a way to know Japanese culture.

Location: there is a direct connection from Narita Airport to Shimbashi Station via the Access Express train, so no need to transfer to another train. The Shimbashi Station is a 10-min walk to the accommodation, and is connected to JR and Tokyo Metro trains. Walking to Ginza and Tokyo Tower is doable (<30 mins). Restaurants: a lot of restaurants are present in the area which is still open at late night. Family Mart across the accommodation is also available, and so is a small grocery behind the konbini. Amenities/Toiletries/Freebies: a lot to mention regarding this, such as: 1. Breakfast starts at 7am - there are two types of curry to choose from, rice, and side dishes (pickles etc) + soup (miso/chicken broth). During dinner, a special rice comes in at 9pm. 2. Many choices of unli drinks available 24/7 - carbonated water, coffee, soda, tea, and water. Alcohol is available at a certain time, and mind you there are plenty of choices as well! 3. Free massage chairs are available in the lounge. There is also a great selections of manga. 4. In the lounge, there is an area with a plug so you can charge your electronics while in there. You can also bring outside food and eat it in there. 5. There is a microwave if needed, such as heating a food bought in a konbini. 6. Different options of shampoo, conditioner, facial wash, body wash etc available for use in the shower. Never ending supplies of toothbrush with paste, comb, razors, cotton buds, bath towel, and pyjamas! 7. Lotion, skincare and facial care are also present in the changing area, which was really handy for travellers who didnt bring much with them. 8. Blowdryer and curling iron/straightener are in the bathroom for use -- no need to ask the reception. 9. The capsule is clean and everything is working well. 10. Locker is spacious, and the hangers are enough for ne to hang my jacket, my clothes for the next day, and one set of clothes. It fits my bagpack, two handbags and others.

There is nothing I really don't like about the property, but I would just like to note that there is only one elevator in the bldg (9 levels) which becomes busy at rush hour times. The emergency stairs are located outside of the building, so you will be greeted with the cold air.

My first time at a capsule hotel, the front desk explained the details patiently in a language I could understand. The staff all could take on English so it was tourist friendly. It happened to be raining my first evening there and I got an umbrella on the house. My shoes got wet from the weather and I thought I had to get new ones. Wow they got shoe drying service I didn’t know about. Very thoughtful and it won me over. Very clean and everything was well organized. Just need to get used to the different floors for different purposes. The sleeping quarters need the tag assigned to the person to unlock access. Good security. Got a 24 hour lounge with manga to enjoy, a public bath, massage chairs, even got amenities like cleansing wash for face. It was not a partying vibe kind of place and people can enjoy the quiet and calmness there. The location is closer to Shiodome station than Shimbashi and quite convenient to get around Tokyo.

You really feel like you are in a spa, all the facilities were comfortable and nice. The food area had drinks, coffee and water available all day, as well as rice. The massage chair pleasantly surprised me.

What surprised me because I didn't read it in the description of the place is that there are no individual showers, they are all in the onsen pool area and for modest girls like me it can be quite a challenge to bathe without clothes (because you can't go in with anything) in front of other girls. Well, it was a challenge overcome, but it would be a good idea to let them know beforehand.

I do not speak Japanese and did not fully understand the expectations of a capsule hotel. Upon arrival, the front desk was extremely helpful - instructing me what to do and then asking another staff member to show me around the various facilities and letting me know the expectations. If you want to know what to expect; you check-in, then you'll be assigned a locker near the from door where you'll swap your shoes for slippers. They can store any large bags at the front desk or medium-ish bags can be taken with you to the locker room on the second floor. On the second floor locker room, you can change into a provided tunic/pants, or other comfortable clothes you brought with you. The locker key is a wrist strap that you can keep on your person the whole time. On the top floor is a space with free rice/snacks, soft drinks, tea, and coffee -- even alcohol in the evenings. The floor below that is the communal shower/onsen and sauna. All bathing is in a shared space. There are small lockers for temporary use outside the shower/onsen. I am 6' 4" (1.93 m) and I chose this place in part because I read from another tall person that they fit on the beds. I can report that I did with basically no problem. I didn't even feel very cramped. In terms of noise, it's similar to a hostel - you can hear those around you if they're making noise, but I didn't notice much. The front of each capsule has a soft "door," but it's really just meant for basic privacy. The "mattresses" (bed pads really) are pretty thin, but I didn't feel uncomfortable. Overall, great experience. I stayed here on my first night because I always wanted to try it and it really helped force me into adapting to local expectations.

Honestly, I could pick at things, but the price is great, the location is convenient. The only thing that's a bit annoying is that if you have a large bag that you need to keep by the front desk you'll need to shuffle things out of it to take to the locker room and you won't have consistent access to the bag.

Hot bath, Evening Free Alcohol, Clean & Cozy lounge, great location (walk distance to shimbashi station) and not too crowded.

Would be better if have some area to manage the luggage by myself instead of asking staff to bring it from the storage when sometimes I just want to quickly grab something from the luggage.

I got an incredible weekday deal (30 euros per night for 3 nights) for this hotel so this review is dependent on fantastic value for money. I absolutely loved the cultural experience provided here - the no-shoes, completely-naked-showers/onsen, the capsules, the sheer amount of free stuff and the very none-western food options (curry for breakfast... hmm) it was all so quintessential Japan! I enjoyed the experience itself, not just because it all felt like a very nice spa, but because it was so different to what I'm used to. I highly recommend it as an attraction in itself!

The location is not great, the walk to the station is significant. The only thing I think they should do is replace all the stools in the onsen because the surface is scratched, and that can't be sanitary.

I didn't have a huge expectation because it was described as a capsule hotel after all. This place exceeded my expectation by an order of magnitude. They provide rice and miso soup 24hours!! They serve curry rice in the morning and Japanese mixed rice at night--all for FREE!! Moreover, they have free drinks in the evening! The entire place is so well run and clean. They provide comfortable set of clothes to wear and everything you need for the shower and self care (all toiletries). The onsen is amazing. You get a locker to store your stuff and space to store your luggage. It's simply amazing. I even met a woman who lives in Tokyo and comes to this place to relax. The whole place feels like a spa. How can you beat that?

I can't think of any, honestly. It's such a good deal for the money, but I'd come here even if they charged more.
