Luis is the best host we’ve had. The bungalow is literally in the jungle and among the trees. Yes there were confused roosters crowing at night but there are earplugs provided if you want. We didn’t use them. The area is safe and so close to Chichen Itza you can be there in less than 15 minutes. We were leaving early in the morning on our second day and instead of the full breakfast spread, Luis was kind enough to make a box breakfast for us to take away. We travel a lot as worldschoolers and if we had to chose between a 5 star hotel and Mayan bungalow we’d say go with Luis because he is just that great. Also gave recommendations in the area which we took and so glad we did. There is a LOT to see in the area if there is time after visiting the world wonder!

We should have stayed longer. I’d really like to go back and use this place as a base for exploring more of the area!

Our stay at the Mayan Bungalow at Chichen Itza was the highlight of our trip to the Yucatán! Louis was an exceptional host and tour resource—making our visit the Yucatán the vacation of a lifetime! Our breakfasts were wonderful, fresh and delicious.The accommodations were very comfortable and gave us a taste of the local Mayan culture. Luis is an exceptional host and his property is amazing. He was super communicative before and during our stay, and was there to greet us when we arrived. The bungalow is located in the jungle, surrounded by beautiful trees, plants and birds. There isn't a better location if you want to be in close proximity of Chichén Itzá! The bungalow was stocked with everything we needed upon arrival. Luis is an incredibly generous and thoughtful host: he offered my partner and I fresh squeezed juice upon our arrival, and tea before bed. He was super accommodating to diet restrictions (1 of us is vegetarian), and in the morning he had a delicious breakfast spread waiting for us. (He even sent us on our way with leftovers!!) Luis is super knowledgeable about the area, and he provided us with so much helpful guidance about getting to the nearby attractions. We loved our visit so much and highly recommend staying here. Host is very friendly and gives good recommendations for the area, we felt very well taken care of. Breakfast is amazing and the best we had in Mexico, and it starts at 7am so you will get to the ruins in time. It is cool to sleep in a Mayan hut, and on the morning you are in 10 minutes (by car) at the ruins.

It is in a small town/rural area in the jungle, so the whole night you hear different animals (mostly dogs and chicken) - but the room comes with ear plugs! You have to walk outside to get to the bathroom (private) in the night that may be scary.

Luis was an awesome and accommodating host. He was a wealth of knowledge about the area and modified the breakfast to meet my wife's gluten-free needs. Recommendations were on-point, and the property gave a secluded, jungle feeling.

Off street parking was not really available due to resurfacing project and steep break over angle to Luis' driveway. Hopefully, Luis will be able to modify his driveway approach to fix this one the street project is done.

The owners were very welcoming and shared a lot of useful info about chichen Itzá. There was a rain storm the night we were there causing a power cut in the village and they came over to provide candles and make sure everything was ok. The place is only 5 mins drive from Chichén itza and the owners provide a great breakfast to get you fired up for exploring.

The host Luis is super friendly and goes above and beyond to answer all your questions, make great suggestions, and welcome you to his property. If you do not ask Luis questions before arriving, then you are missing out on his great suggestions for things to do. Great location, only 7 minutes from Chichén Itza. Only 4 minutes from a small cute and safe town right outside chichen Itza. You can sit and buy small crafts and homemade food from the local community. My family felt completely safe, and the Host-Luis let them borrow books and small toys. In the morning, you are woken up by all the singing of birds and one or two roosters. The breakfast was just as great, freshest fruit, change in daily menú and yogurts.

It was a little difficult to find property, but Luis helped us out. The road to the property is hilly and you need to be careful when driving.

The bungalow was quaint, peaceful and comfortable. This was the perfect opportunity for us to rest and recharge and enjoy the simplicity of the small town life in the Yucatan jungle. It was amazing to wake up to the sounds of the jungle. Luis went above and beyond our expectations by being such a gracious host and providing such great hospitality. We were so amazed by the beautiful farm to table breakfast he and his wife prepared for us in the morning before our visit to Chichen Itza. Fresh fruit and juices, eggs from their own chickens, honey made by the neighbour, and breads from the local baker. It was the best experience and we highly recommend to anyone looking for a truly authentic experience.off the beaten path. The small village it's located in is full of very nice people and the local restaurant, Sac Be, is worth trying as well! Thank you so much Luis & family for the wonderful stay 🙏

Authentic stay in local village with friendly Luis who gave us tips on visiting Yaxuna ruins where you can climb up smaller reconstructed ruins plus a large hill originally Temple Major, also Cenote nearby , like Ik kil but only 100 pesos and no crowds and you can jump in from a height if you want! Good breakfast to set you up for Chichen Itza and only 10 mins away. Get there 7.30 to be near front of ticket queues. Wait until just before you leave to haggle for souvenirs, prices stay high at first. Take mosquito repellent in this area, although we were fine in Feb. Good local restaurant 5 mins walk.

It is in the jungle, expect bird noise incl cockerels!

Luis was awesome, he received us with a huge smile late at night, cooked really tasty breakfasts for us and helped us out with whatever questions we had about Chichen Itza (how to get there, what to be careful about etc.). The location of the place is ideal if you want to go to Chichen Itza, it's 10min away by car, parking was easy and we felt safe. The room had everything we needed, AC, hot shower and a warm blanket.

Everything is a little older, the bathroom is quite tight without place to put your things and we had a little bad smell from time to time. Also it seemed a little mouldy in some corners, which is to be expected because you are in the middle of a jungle with a beautiful garden. For us and staying two nights it was totally good and fair. Luis really makes the difference!
