This motel was more than adequate, similar to many in NZ, and completely met our needs. Our room was spacious and had everything we needed. Despite being close to a busy area, it was quiet and without any disturbances. It is well maintained and kept clean. We were given 2 adjoining rooms, which was much appreciated.

When we arrived, no one was there to check us in and no one responded to the bell or text messages. After waiting for more than 15 minutes we had to go looking for someone and finally found them. Another guest who stays at this property often was surprised by the situation and vouched for the property. This delay was ultimately inconsequential and simply frustrating in the moment.

The host was friendly and knowledgeable. Very easy to chat with. I was concerned the location was a little out of the way but a bus stop right outside made getting around the city so simple an more affordable than hiring a car! The room was clean and tidy, it was tended to daily with cleaning and fresh towels etc. I will be staying here again next time I visit.

Our unit was close to the road which at times was a little noisy but totally unavoidable and certainly not enough to stop me booking here again.

The manager was very obliging letting us check out but leave our car in the car park for the day. The motel is on a busy road but once inside and also later at night traffic could not be heard. Very convenient with a supermarket across the road. There is a generous supply of plates and crockery and a Pyrex type casserole dish with lid for use in the microwave.

There is only a microwave for cooking. There is no kitchen sink, the only sink is in the bathroom. The shower is wet floor type but not hand held. The bed was a bit firm for my preference.

We picked this motel due to the location in South Dunedin to our event. It definitely exceeded our expectations, the room was bigger than previous motels we have stayed. The bed was fantastic it was a huge super king and extremely comfortable.

My only negative would be to say the bathroom was looking a little tired but even with that the shower was still amazing and had excellent pressure, if we had stayed longer I would have like to have tried out the spa bath. All in all though still very functional.

555 Motel is lovely and provides easy access to Dunedin and surrounding areas. It is superbly equipped and very comfortable. The WiFi is good. There is a microwave. The things I wanted to see in Dunedin were either shut, spoiled, or fully occupied with cruise ship visitors and they are booked 3 years in advance. The one exception is Speights Brewery. Although 8 people out of 9 on my particular tour were off cruise ships, they made room for me and I recommend a visit.

Clean, tidy, warm room. Had everything we needed. Enjoyed watching the rugby on Sky :-) Helpful, friendly staff/host. Great parking right outside room.

Only issue was the mini fridge motor kept starting up during the night and was quite noisy... possibly needs replacing as noticed it wasn't very cold and freezer compartment didn't look to be freezing.

The room is clean and tidy. The electrical blanket was on when we arrived at night. The room was warm and comfortable. the manager offered kindness check-out time for me since my meeting was delayed a little bit. Really appreciated.

not many cooking options in the room due to space in the room. The fan in the bathroom stopped working. the bathroom was quite easy to get wet after shower.

Everything, the manager was awesome made check in a breeze, the location was great close to everything you would ever need, supermarket petrol station and takeaways (Mc Dz, Wendys, KFC & Burger King) little township area 2mins away. It was clean both inside and out but what i loved the most was that the bathroom was nice and big!!

We will definitely stay again and for longer next time!!! Thank yous so much!

We liked Justin...he was extremely helpful and went out of his way to sort out any issues we might have. His dog Gypsy was delightful too, we loved her.

The decor was very dated, and quite masculine (?) . But everything was clean and functional.

Friendly, efficient reception. Adequate space for parking. Older-type motel, but well maintained, clean and quiet - considering that the motel is adjacent to a major throughway.

Nothing really not to like. Perhaps the Chinese made leather seats in the two units we rented would have been improved if the cushions were re-padded.
