Vending machine was amazing. It was very convenient to get a drink whenever we wanted. We loved the hot chocolate especially when it was cold. The staff were especially friendly, approachable, kind, and helpful. Special mentions to Gordon, Dani, and another Singaporean friend whom we unfortunately did not get his name. They shared advice and recommendations for our trip that thoroughly enjoyed.

Navigating the heating was confusing and difficult to control. It took us a while to learn the system and by the end of the trip we still werent if we were using it correctly. Our key cards also kept deactivating on its own. We had to get them replaced 3 times during our 5 day stay.

We have always stayed at the Mi-pad in Queenstown as it is fairly reasonably priced, quite central, new, clean with a great roof top area. The room is compact but functional. The staff are always helpful and pleasant.

We didn't know about the construction work, but thankfully it didn't start until after 8am. The first morning was bad as the vibrations shook the whole room from that time. There is the bypass being built out the front of the hotel and further work our the side/back - when we arrived we had a lovely tree outside our window - it was removed on day two so our view was of the car park.

The room was very modern and clean. The bed was very comfortable. We were really impressed with the lighting. It was very quiet. The location was excellent. We loved it.

The price on the website was advertised as "inclusive of taxes and charges" and that all major credit cards were accepted. Therefore we assumed we'd be paying the advertised price. However, we later discovered that we'd been charged a credit card charge in addition. This extra charge was dishonest in my opinion as you'd hidden this cc charge in the "hard to find" fine print. Therefore, your advertised price was not in fact "inclusive of taxes and charges".

I was really pleasantly surprised by this hotel! Expected a pretty budget accommodation, but it completely surpassed my expectations. Very clean, modern, comfortable and warm. Really nice toiletries provided in the shower and bathroom. GHD straighteners!! Very close to everything you need in town. Great communal facilities with lovely views, and a laundry facility on the ground floor. Would absolutely stay here again.

A tiny complaint: the room didn’t have a kettle, but there was a complimentary hot drinks vending machine on our floor- a lovely touch, but it didn’t provide plain hot water. I myself am a Brit and therefore very particular about my tea, so I bring my own teabags with me everywhere, but wasn’t able to make a brew as the machine only offered black tea or milk tea with its own teabags. I did find a loophole in that the chai latte option had run out of chai, so only dispensed hot water, but took me until the last day to figure this out, by which time I was severely tea deprived!

Very clean rooms, excellent location in the city center close to all pickup locations for all tours, free coffee and water at any time, high tech hotel - you can control all the room & hotel facilities from the mobile app, even access key to the room.

small room, small bathroom with very low privacy, best for single stay rather than a couple, checkout very early at 10:00am without possibility of late checkout (at least in our case), the road in front of the hotel was under construction (but this should be temporary) so taxis cannot come right in front thus if you have large luggage it might be a problem.

We have stayed at mi-pad before and we would stay again! Impeccably clean, modern rooms, comfy beds, beautiful roof terrace with amazing views of the lake and mountains. The rooms are equipped with great heating and cooling options and the location is fantastic, just a very short walk to the lake and good parking nearby. Also very cost effective. Our fave spot in QT!

My only gripe with mi-pad is that the toilets in rooms are behind a glass screen with a sliding door which means anyone else in the room with you can hear you peeing and more in surround sound HD! It’s not at all private but thankfully the hotel has communal toilets which have more privacy, for your post-coffee visit.

(1) Location was super central (the roadworks were hardly an inconvenience - and I really appreciated them telling us in advance through which road we can access the property, so that we could plan for our busstops etc.); (2) Staff were absolutely lovely - it was my partner’s birthday, I couldn’t log in to my Uber Eats, and the staff helped me place an order for a cake for me to surprise my partner, and included a little happy birthday post-it which I found so cute and thoughtful! They also sent the cake right up to our room. Their mi-pad app is also very helpful for an additional key to unlock your room + chat with the staff about any of your concerns (and they’re super responsive and helpful). On our first night the staff also gave us a list of dinner recommendations around the area (and they were really good!); (3) Temperature control was perfect. This is something so basic but not all hotels get it right, and in the winter it was a blessing to have the reassurance that we could come back to a hot shower daily; (4) The vending machine with hot drinks (which was, to our benefit, practically right outside our room) was a huge convenience - I love starting my day with a hot coffee and ending my day with a hot chocolate especially when I’m out in the cold all day, and I was very impressed and pleasantly surprised by this amenity; and (5) Super smooth check-in and check-out. Also a bonus that there are board games if you’d like to play! There are also social areas on the other floor but we didn’t check them out much.

Nothing I didn’t like! Space could be a little tight but hardly an inconvenience given all the conveniences I’ve mentioned above and the value for money for the whole stay.

Highly recommended hotel in Queenstown. It is just within walking distance to everything. The bus stop from or yo airport just 2 mins walking distance. When we visit on the 4th of october 2024, there were still road work infront of the hotel, but it doest effect our stay. The hotel is very clean and very nice smell as we enter the lobby. All the staff are super friendly. The room was very clean with the comfortable bed and we had our room clean everyday😃. Some say the room is a bit too small, but in my opinion as couple the room size is just perfect, it also has everything we need. Each floor has vending machine for free coffee, tea, and hot chocolate which is amazing. We were also enjoying the breathtaking mountain and lake wakatipu view front the rooftop hotel. We had amazing experiences. Will definitely stay again when we visit queenstown.

Just information, the hotel does not provide free drinking water, make sure you buy water bottle in case you feel thirsty at night. Other than that, all good. 😉

Mi-pad was located on the edge of Queenstown Central which meant that shops, restaurants and the Queenstown Gondola were all nearby and within a 5-10 minute walking distance. The hotel was nicely furnished and looked great with the added bonus of multiple floors and facilities to check out. The unlimited hot drinks section was a nice touch given the coldness of Queenstown.

Whilst the free hot drinks options was great, there is a vending machine on each floor which provides snacks and soft drinks but there was no section for paid bottles of water or free tap water which meant this was needed to be stocked at grocery stores. The bins in the room could have been bigger as we found both the garbage and recycling bins were smaller than expected. The sink is shallow which meant water would flow over to the ground.

Great new modern property. Lots of common areas for you to have your Fergburgers and chat with your travel companions. The rooms were really nice and new, loved the fact that they had the name of the light on the switch to indicate which light it was for.

Asked for a little bit under an hour’s late check out… they weren’t really willing to give it… otherwise a pretty cool hotel, especially if you like technology for everything. One suggestion would be to have a sign which tells guests how to contact the front desk for assistance. I had to message the hotel through the Booking .com app because I needed a kettle to make some peppermint tea.
