The hosts Chris and Lin were wonderful. They went out of their way to help us - asking if we had wet ski gear we wanted to dry by the fire, giving us a lift to bus to get airport shuttle and helping figure out other activities when the ski field was closed. They really made us welcome. The breakfast was huge and the coffee professional standard. The facilities were very clean and the house is a work of art. As you would expect from a B&B the guest area is not completely separate from the hosts but you have all the privacy you need. Exceptional value.

There were no faults with this property. It was perfect.

The main bed is a super king size and very comfortable. The room has a nice blend of modern and vintage design. It is also very clean.

We thought this room had a separate entry, but it does not. The landlord couple lives downstairs, and there are three rooms available for rent upstairs. During our stay, there was another couple next door on the same floor. They were nice and quiet, but sometimes we could still hear sounds from the other bedroom.

Tempest on Wanaka is the perfect place to stay when visiting the charming and picturesque Wanaka. The location is excellent, an easy stroll to the center of town. Our room was very spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Chris and Lin are very gracious and warm hosts and serve a wonderful breakfast. We enjoyed their company and tips on the area. The guest area is very private with easy access to tea, coffee, and home baked cookies.

Loved everything about the property.

The more we praise this beautiful place and lovely hosts, the less it is ! Located in gorgeous location, nearby to restaurants and lake, with all the amenities you would need on a holiday. The breakfast served was the icing on the cake. Be it Lin’s bread, marmalade, jams, parfait or granola or Chris’s barista styled coffee. The best part is they welcome you into their home for breakfast and we get to meet & talk to fellow guests, which is so rare these days. It definitely feels like home away from home with all the warmth and hospitality of Chris & Lin.

The location of Tempest was great, easy walking into the town. Lyn and Christ were excellent hosts, the conversation around the breakfast table was enjoyable. Lyn is not only an wonderful artist, we enjoyed looking at all her beautiful artwork on the walls, she is also an excellent cook, she made muffins for breakfast and delicious cookies to enjoy with our afternoon tea. The room was very quiet and dark of a night.

Everything suited our requirements.

Chris and Lin are excellent hosts .Great accommodation in walking distance of the town . The breakfast is excellent with lovely home made bread , tasty fruit and yoghurts . The hosts are very knowledgeable about local places to visit’s restaurants etc .Good Wi-Fi .A wonderful suggestion was a visit to the local cinema Paradiso - a local institution with freshly baked cookies at the interval. Check with Colin what is on during your stay .Arriving by car at the property , note it is first right on Hedditch street , then first left and left again and the property is on your right . Excellent parking at the property .

What a lovely home. You arrive looking forward to the luxury accommodation that is advertised and leave with a feeling of loss knowing that it will be years if ever to experience such wonderful warmth on your travels again. The accommodation was immaculate and really comfortable, super bed and modern shower with oodles of hot water. Really good breakfast to set us up for the day. Wanaka is a beautiful setting and I would be very happy to settle roots there if emigration was ever on the cards. We lunched at the Big Fig which was great and had supper at Kika which was fantastic as well (don't forget to book).

I felt welcomed into Chris and Lin's home, where they shared their passions for growing fruit and veg (the garden is full of it), and painting (Lin's paintings are all around the house). Our room was homely and comfy, and had a decent height shower in the bathroom (many establishments only cater for visitors below average height), though I became a little too well-aquainted with the sloped roof ceiling. A good breakfast of fresh bread, cereals and home-grown fruit made for a good start to the day. It is in a good location, 10 mins walk from the main street restaurants (we ate at Francesca's, which was excellent) and the lake. Even the Puzzling Centre is only about a 20 min walk away, and the road north out of town is close by.

The home was lovely and our bedroom suite very comfortable. It was walking distance to the center of town and lots of restaurants. The breakfast was amazing with homemade bread and granola, homegrown tomatoes and freshly canned fruit and personally prepared poached eggs and latte’s. Linn and Chris were wonderful hosts and we thoroughly enjoyed visiting with them! The best accommodation of our trip.

The quality of the bed linen and the fittings and general space in the bedroom were excellent. Really nice tea prep area and big fridge at our disposal. Big plus for travellers was the use of the washing machine. Breakfast was great quality and catered with fresh baked products for my gluten free daughter which was appreciated. Car parking on site was easy. Friendly, helpful and interesting hosts.

Ummmm, perhaps the check in is a little late but the owner was willing to be flexible. Nothing really.
