Great location near all the port houses, and just nip across the bridge to the historic centre. Staff very friendly and offer good advice on places to eat and we took advantage of 50%discount on port tour and walking tour which they booked for us. Lovely breakfast and potential to use kitchen to cook if needed. Room very clean and comfortable with hot shower and toiletries. Nice to be able to use the gardens/terraces to sit outside. Good breakfast cereal, bread, ham, cheese, yoghurt and fruit.

Parking was sparse outside the property, although the recommended multi-storey car park up the road (between 5-10 mins walk as up hill) was reasonable 6 euros for 24 hours. Very noisy as we had a room at the front, but once we shut the window and put aircon on was OK. Room small especially bathroom as you had to dance around the door to get in. Check in very late although opportunity to leave luggage at reception.

What makes this place special is how the owner is passionet about hosting travellers. We had a very nice talk with him over breakfast. I wish we had stayed there more than one night, it was so nice. He also gave us tips on where to travel to.

I filtered the hotels by ''parking available'' before booking, because we had a rental car. When we arrived, we found out that the parking was in the street. There was space available in the street, but traffic in Portugal is quite crazy and we had a rental car. At the end, our car had a little scratch, and this costed us €60 in the rental company.

The room was small but comfy. Everything was super clean and the bed was really nice to sleep on. Decent bathroom and the stuff was nice and helpful. Location is pretty great, you just walk 10 minutes and you're on the big bridge all ready. It was also quiet and peaceful. I totally recommend staying here

Everything was okay

We were met with a warm welcome and that continued throughout our stay. Our hosts were really helpful and gave us some great tips for places to visit, e.g a little fishing village outside Porto - Alfurada - for amazing seafood. The hostel is more like a hotel, the room was lovely - very modern and immaculately clean. The beautiful marble bathroom was plenty big and we had beautiful white towels and bathrobes. Location was also great, a short walk down to the Vila Nova de Gaia promenade and to a metro station. And the reviews were right - the breakfast was fantastic.

To be honest, they couldn't have done any more to make us more comfortable.

The staff was the kindest! The property was really the perfect balance between simple and modern. We stayed at a suite and the room was very clean and comfortable! We loved staying there and couldn’t recommend it more.

We loved everything but I would like to leave the suggestion to add a chair in the bedroom to provide extra comfort for displaying things or sit close to the balcony!

The stay was super nice and quiet, and the room/private bathroom cleaned every day. Both very modern, good shower. Comfy big bed and lots of storage space in inbuilt wardrobe. Air conditioning. Nice traditional Portuguese breakfast. Family run, very lovely and attentive local hosts, good recommendations for port wine cellars.

Nothing worth of mentioning!

I liked the family-run feel of the hotel, the friendly and correct interactions with the people running the hotel, it's location on the south bank of the river but somewhat removed from it, giving more quietude. The steep granite stairs continued outside, onto multiple terraced gardens with a view over Porto.

We had a private room which was very clean and new. It had everything we needed, and the breakfast was great. It is walking distance to many port wine cellars and the Douro River which was excellent. Also enjoyed sitting on the terrace with wine. Definitely recommend!

Although very nice, the room was a little small, and the bathroom door wouldn’t close because a dehumidifier (I think) machine was in the way. Two flights of stairs and no elevator.

I am a digital nomad and this place really surprised me. I was able to work for 10hrs very comfortablely with the cair and Tablet that they had in there. Plus, the internet was great for vídeo calls. João, the owner, was very helpful and wanted to make sure that everything was going well. Great place to stay! I would go back for sure

This is a wonderful hostel with a welcoming atmosphere and the standard of a mid-range hotel, at least in the suites, which is where I stayed. Nice bed, the luxury of clean linens and fluffy towels, everything immaculately clean, lovely breakfast. The owner and his parents and staff are very friendly and welcoming and interesting to talk to. Nice location. Neither the area nor the hostel is suitable for people with reduced mobility due to level differences, stairs etc. This beats the Hilton any time!

I wish I had had time to stay longer.
