Room was very big with separate sitting area Spotless clean very well decorated comfortable superking bed excellent views was easy parking on hotel grounds host at reception desk he was very friendly helpful altogether a very enjoyable experience would highly recommend this hotel

Nothing we didn't like really enjoyed our view and stay.

What a charming place! It in some ways felt more like a bed and breakfast. My room was spacious and had a great view of Oban bay. I massive bathtub and a warming towel rack made it feel very posh! They have a bar that is open 11a to 11p and it was delightful, spaces to sit, but you could also take the beverages to your room. I enjoyed my stay and absolutely fell in love with Oban.

Be prepared for a very tiny Victorian elevator. Imagine the old lattice type door on the car and a more solid door on each floor. It was a hair unnerving - but the front desk staff were super helpful in explaining how to use it. SO it wasn't a bad thing... but I don't like elevators. I only used it to go up and to transport my luggage.

Nothing to dislike

On the positive side the hotel is very well situated with lots of local amenities on the doorstep. After a long drive my wife and I were warmly welcomed at reception and throughout our stay we found all members of the hotel staff very courteous and helpful. In particular I would like thank the hard working housekeeping workforce for the excellent standard in which our room was maintained. It was a pleasure coming back to it after a long day exploring.

On the negative side there are only 8 parking slots available onsite however there is also a council parking which can work out expensive. Oban is very much a gridlocked town so free parking is almost nonexistent. Thanks to the hotel staff we eventually found a free parking area within walking distance located to the north of the town. As for the hotel itself I think the decor is a little outdated and could perhaps do with renewing in some areas but still keeping the period appeal.

Hotel was central for everything. Staff were professional, polite, and very helpful .When we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted at reception by a kind gentleman who informed us we had been given an upgrade and assured us we would like our room. Well, he wasn't wrong there. What a beautiful room. It was enormous, It had 2 four poster beds ,a Chesterfield suite, and amazing sea views. We watched the sun set,it was amazing. There was a good selection of cereals and hot food, yoghurt,fruit,croissant, etc. for breakfast, and it was very good. We will definitely come back to this hotel next time we visit Oban.We had a lovely time.

Nothing to dislike

In reviewing the Columba Hotel, we will state in advance that we will be subjective. First our objective observation: beautifully situated in the centre of Oban, close to excellent and affordable restaurants, our bed and bathroom were top.  But the real top class was our room. Although the word room did not do our accommodation justice. At the reception Shivam had already prepared us for the surprise: we got the “executive room”. Well, the ballroom with the choice of two four-poster beds did not disappoint us. 😁 Simply an attractive hotel. Nice staff, authentic surroundings.
