Overall, room was spacious and comfortable. We got comp upgrade so can't complain
Nothing really. Suggest they reduce heat in hot tub and steam room. It was up way too high to be comfortable. Also, probably need to overtly advise customers of $20 parking rate per day in the About section of property so that people are not caught unaware.

We celebrated our engagement and got a free upgrade. We’ve stayed before so knew what to expect. Rooms are big and comfy. Staff are friendly even the one who reminded us of the art guy from Beverley Hills cop! “Lemon twist!” Location is a short distance but a nice distance. There is paid parking.
The chlorine in the spa pool was way too strong. Skin burning strong. It was like that 2 years ago too!! The gym is really old. For the price, I’m sure upgrading some things would be essential. You have to pay $20 per night for parking and, the breakfast is NOT free! Again, for the price of the hotel, at least one of these things should be thrown in. There’s new competition on the block so check the freebies. It’s not always worth it if something isn’t “thrown in.”

The hotel had a very cosy "old-world" vibe - truth to be told, a little outdated in its wallpaper and carpeting, but overall it felt comfortable and homey. The room was huge, beds were extremely comfortable, and the bathroom was so large that it had two sinks! It's located a little further away from the town centre of Banff, so expect to walk 8-10 mins past several other inns and hotels before reaching the centre. That said, there are a couple of bus services right outside the hotel that you can utilise - just be prepared to wait.
My only nitpick is that the toiletries were small and very insufficient for two people; I had to supplement with my own travel toiletries.

I had the chance to stay at a recently renovated junior suit with fireplace, on the ground floor facing the street. The suit itself is really nice, the fireplace is excellent. Curtains are heavy enough to block out any light from the street but without the curtains there is no privacy in the room due to close proximity to the street. Also every morning at 6am a snowplow came to clean the hotel`s driveway which served as a wake-up call - upon check-in the receptionist did ask if I want a room on an upper floor in case the ground floor is too noisy so I knew I made a tradeoff of some noise in exchange for a renovated suit.
Please have some softer pillows - all pillows were thick and hard, no small pillows available even upon request. Also the heating is subpar - it is very loud and if it`s on, it nonstop works, started to blow cold air once it reached the target temperature... The electric fireplace was superb though at provided a lot of heat.

Third visit and we like the spacious rooms and relaxing style. A wee bit dated now but much more relaxing than some of the supposed modernised hotels with very corporate monochrome decor which is not so relaxing for a long holiday stay. We also love the pool is open until 11:00pm for a late night dip.
They used to clean car windows overnight which was a nice touch but didn't on this visit. We would like a more varied dining menu with slightly better pricing. There is so much competition for eating downtown but would be nice to eat in hotel more often.

Adrian at the front desk was very kind and helpful! Parking was easy and the room was comfortable and clean. Pool/spa facilities were heavenly - hot tub was super hot and pool was nicely warmed. Beds were comfy and there were a lot of outlets.
The sheets on the bed weirdly didn't reach all the way to the foot of the bed on either queen bed in our room. Not sure why, it was just a little odd. The TVs are also a bit outdated and don't have access to streaming services so bring a HDMI cable if you'd like to use a laptop streaming service.

Excellent location on the quieter end of town but easily walkable to breweries, restaurants, and shops. The heated parking garage was a huge plus. Our suite was comfortable and quiet and the perfect place to unwind after a day of skiing. The hotel restaurant breakfast had plenty of options and was very convenient with its early opening time. Overall I would definitely recommend Royal Canadian Lodge.
It's a small thing but the slope into the garage was a bit steep and got a little icy on our stay, making the card swipe and entry into the garage a bit dicey. Other than that, our stay was superb.

Friendly staff , heated parking and the room was great
Breakfast was terrible . 4 People in our group and no one enjoyed their food , I had the worst eggs benny in my life . I would NOT recommend eating there . I was not charged for my gross food but I also did not get breakfast and we had a very busy day planned . Also we were trying to get information about the bus system so we could go downtown and the woman working at the desk was very difficult to understand . So that was not helpful. We had search out someone else who could speak better English to get the information we needed .

Big room with tons of space, an excellent bathroom and a fireplace!! Ability to open the window was a bonus to let fresh air in. Car park was big, warm and easy to access. Very friendly and useful concierge service who was extremely welcoming and all round a good place to base your Bannf / Lake Louise winter trip out of without the party crowd in house
$20 a night for the parking and no breakfast included - Breakfast isnt a big problem as I like to walk and see whats around but a parking fee during off peak was (car park was less than a third full every night).

Great location with roam stop right outside hotel, underground parking also great option. Rooms were clean and comfortable, bed was a great size with good pillows and soft sheets. We stayed in a junior suite and it was good size especially for somewhere so popular and busy Staff were polite and respectful, interacted well with the kids so we could focus on check-in. Pool area lovely and relaxing, like a grotto. Loved it was open until 11pm as we were able to squeeze in a late night trip to relax and refresh after a busy day in Banff! Complimentary water and apples were welcome when coming back to the hotel tired and weary! There were complimentary books and bicycles which unfortunately we didn’t get time to use on this occasion. Family friendly but still quiet and calm, no children running around corridors etc. Enjoyed our stay and would hope to return in future.
Some things in room could have been improved - only one bath robe & no slippers, would have made using the pool a more relaxing experience had sufficient pairs been provided. I rang down to request an additional bathrobe but must have been miscommunication as instead we got extra towels and toiletries. Also, fire in the room did not work which was really disappointing, I looked foward to relaxing in front of it after busy days. Complimentary bottled water in room, or jugs in corridors would have been nice extra touch. But in lobby it was great so no big deal.
