The location is superb and it’s my favourite place to stay in Madrid as it’s super easy to access the best attractions and parts of town by foot. The staff is excellent and very welcoming.

The bathroom of the room I was staying in could use a bit of a refresh, the shower area specifically. There was also not enough hangers for towels and surfaces to keep things on.

Very clean, friendly helpful staff, great location.

The choice of music in the terrace area awful. Also, way too loud daytime when people might prefer to chill out. Doesn't factor in the fact that people have different musical tastes. Personally can't stand modern R&B myself or pumped up house music if I'm not off my head in a club:)

It was our first time in Madrid. We thought it was a stylish hotel and chose this place. We were never wrong. There are so many sweet people working there. From the reception to the breakfast service, everyone is friendly. They are always trying to help. The rooms are clean, stylish and large. The pool area is amazing. We went as a married husband and wife. We did not face anything that would disturb us. we felt like at home. It is also a hotel with a location close to everywhere. if we come to Madrid again, we will book a room here without hesitation. thank you axel hotel

Everything was wonderful, nothing was missing, but as Turks, we would have been happier if there were olives for breakfast :) But this is not a deficiency, just a suggestion.

The rooftop pool area and bar is a great function of the hotel, great views and a nice way to 'get outside' without the crowds or street bustle. I found the bathroom features cool and the aethetic of the room very unique and photogenic. Loved the queer friendly setup, refreshing hospitality environment to experience. The neighbourhood is great, lots to see in very near walking distance and even some handy supermarkets for quick supplies.

There was music in the hallways which was often a bit loud, had to call and ask for it to be reduced. Walls are not so thick and you can hear neighbours doors slam.

Breakfast needs a little more American entries....Something like cream of wheat, hot oatmeal or firm scrambled eggs with potato cake or hash brown potatoes....your sugar donut was hard as a rock...waiter thru all of them out and brought new ones but they were cold in the inside...

The front desk was not up to par on knowledge..for example, the hop on hop off tout bus....they gave very poor directions where to catch the bus and it took an hour and a half to find a stop to get on....so I brought back a map of the routes and told them the closest get on stop....not great on restaurants that serve different types of food.... ..

The location was great, everything was very accessible. The hotel also had all the amenities we required including tea/coffee maker, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion. Gym was small but had all the equipment needed to do a solid workout including spin bike, cross trainer and weights. Pool had a cool vibe to it and we were offered a welcome drink which was a nice touch.

We didn't mind at all, but the hotel is a LGBTQ hotel so if someone didn't want to stay in an LGBTQ environment then I would not recommend booking the hotel. We had a lovely time but weren't necessarily aware of the target audience via booking.com.

staff seemed disinterested. took me a few minutes in a totally dark room of a dark corridor to locate where the card went to turn power on. room was 30 foot from reception you'd have thought they'd have said something or walked me there. guess we all carry torch phones these days

From the get go, there were 2 Jamie's at reception and another guys, unfortunately, can't remember his name but the 3 of them during our stay were more than helpful. First time in Madrid, they take out and map and advise what is good to see and the best way to get around to see it all. That's the staff for you but otherwise, the room was had everything you needed and if anything wasn't there, dial 9 and you'd get it. Didn't try the food so can't comment but the drinks on that lovely rooftop by the swimming pool were great. Nice, friendly and easy going up there. Beautiful view and well peaceful. Lovely place altogether and well recommend anyone to go there. The misses and myself loved it.

Our door didn't close when we walked into our room after a long wait but the guys had it fixed in no time so really, the wait to get to our room and the fact that the door wasn't working, I didn't like but it got sorted out asap. Really wasn't an issue.

Location of this hotel is fantastic - you can walk to the main sightseeing places, the train station is also 15mins away on foot. Staff is amazing at this hotel - always willing to go an extra mile to help, cheerful and polite! Continental breakfast was tasty, too. Hotel is well maintained, the housekeeping in a room was exceptional, too! I would highly recommend this hotel!

The weather has not been great so we could not use swimming pool on the roof top. However, the bar area and the views from the roof top were spectacular so no drawbacks at all!
