This hotel is wonderful. We loved it so much that we decided to spend our last night in Spain there after traveling through Seville, the Algarve, and Portugal. The staff were all very professional and helpful. The room and bathroom were large and comfortable. The shower is amazing with easy to control temperature and excellent water pressure. Loved overlooking the square, and breakfast was delicious. The location is excellent for walking and was safe. Housekeeping was 5 stars - very clean, well stocked room. Highly recommend.

The bed is very firm, almost hard. The bathroom lighting is a little dm. Appreciated the magnifying mirror, but it is at sink level. I literally had to kneel on the floor to use it.

1- Location 2- breakfast restaurant 3- entrance lobby with stone domes 4- room size and layout was great 5- full size windows to the street was a pleasant element 6- attention to little details such as cell phone changing sockets, multiple power outlet, full Ht mirror

1- Design of corridors not matching the historical appearance of hotel 2- corridors are stone which makes it noisy when people use it 3- washroom is missing storage for towels; small coffee table is not effective

central location, breakfast, staff goes out if their way to make you feel comfortable

there was construction going on right under our windows - all day long there was drilling/ digging and at night, the metal plaque covering the site made an awful sound when cars drove over it; as these road works are planned by the city in advance, I do not understand why we were not given rooms on the other side of the hotel, not on the 2nd floor, facing right on the construction?? unpleasant to rest during the day and even night!

The location was very convenient. Easy walks to museums and palace. Great nearby restaurants. The room was comfortable but the shower room was so small and there were no flat surfaces other than the floor and nowhere to hang robes and clothes. The breakfast was amazingly good with excellent choices and good quality food. The breakfast staffs were superb - very helpful and always pleasant The beds were extremely comfortable!

The shower room was too small There was nowhere to hang clothes or robes and the towel rail was too small to take all the towels. There were no flat surfaces on which to place toiletries.

The hotel is clean and located in a great location Staff is friendly Breakfast is basic but in high quality You can feel it’s a 5 star hotel by the small things that the staff do to make you feel you’re an appreciated guest with their small gestures

The sofa that acts like a third bad in our suite was very very old. Difficult to sleep on it! The room’s furniture is old and massive…

Outstanding location on Plaza del Ángels in the heart of old Madrid just a 10 minute walk to Plaza Mayor and Plaza del Sol. Parque Retiró and The Prado just a 20 minute walk away. Also, the hotel is a very easy 20 minute downhill walk to the main train station. Unlimited shopping opportunities in every direction along quaint lively avenues. Our junior suite was fairly basic with no real elegant features though the king bed was comfortable and the three sets of large windows included folding shutters to keep out the sun. A mostly quiet location with at least a dozen patio dining options less than a minute from the front entrance. While not a “luxury” hotel with over the top services the Tepa was more than adequate for the three nights we stayed.

Our suite lacked any sense of charm or decor.

Reception service was excellent. My first room was on the first floor with roadworks outside which kept me awake for most of the first night when traffic went over the temporary metal plates in the road. When I complained they moved me to a different room very efficiently. Always interesting to see how an organisation deals with problems. They did very well.

Gym was horrible - smelly and unclean. Breakfast was just about OK - expensive for what is was.

The room was lovely and clean the location was great and was right near everything and wasn't noisy at night and the staff were friendly and helpful and polite.

The room could use a couple of hooks behind the door as there isnt really anywhere to hang up towels etc. The light that was in front of the stairs wasn't working and so could be dangerous at night, having a bit of storage upstairs would of been useful rather than going downstairs all the time to get clothes etc. The bed was hard so hurt my back but some may prefer a harder mattress and the better selection of pillows like a feather one would of been better as the ones we had to use were not comfortable at all.

Location is very central, busy yet safe streets, around the hotel many happenings around from music to food to attractive locations, Plaza de Mayor is a short walk away with great things to do on the way, food market on the edge of the plaza a must visit.

Shower in a bath tub a thing of the past, air-conditioning needs revamping. Basically the bathroom needs modernization

We spent three nights at this excellent hotel with its perfect location and outstanding, friendly, and always attentive staff. NH Collection Madrid Palacio de Tepa delivered a genuine 5-star experience – including 'turn down' preparations of our room for the night. Thanks to the entire team for making our stay exceptional and memorable. We look forward to returning!
