Reception staff were excellent (in particular Jamie and James). The room was spacious and the hotel ambience excellent. The duty manager dealt with a check in delay and cleanliness complaint we had very well.

A very strange member of staff casually dressed behind reception who later we realised was some sort of concierge there to help, but he came across initially as some sort of security guard eyeing us suspiciously and interfering with the check in process and undermining the receptionist. We felt ill at ease when he was around. Our check-in process was delayed as although the room had been cleaned it supposedly needed inspecting. This caused an unnecessary hour delay. When we got to the room there were numerous hairs in the bathroom and clearly had not been cleaned properly or inspected! Dirty windows but we were 7 floors up so I guess difficult to clean.

Clean spacious room. Very friendly and helpful staff. The soaps and shower gels were briliant! Great location and generous breakfast. Very comfortable bed and all the towels you could possibly need!

Poor breakfast with long wait for eggs which were overdone/underdone. Loud music in pool. The gym is good, but with 9 machines to do cardio on and no fan, it is clear that it was designed by someone who does not exercise. The aircon goes as low as 19 which does not cut it when doing cardio indoors. The rooms were great, but the amount if bright lights when going to sleep were ridiculous. The wellness room is just an empty room.

I got a free upgrade, which was lovely. I had asked for a quiet room and that was exactly what I got. Location was walkable to Southern Cross station (one of the reasons I picked it), even with a heavy suitcase. Only 5 - 10 mins walk to various areas of the CBD. I checked out early as had a train to catch, which was then cancelled so they kindly let me check back in to my room. Room was huge for one person (no complaints!), lovely bathroom. Very large and very comfortable bed. People working there were lovely. I didn't use the swimming pool and spa facilties so can't comment on them. Also, Ritz-Carlton is 1 min walk away and they have an amazing rooftop lounge and bar with incredible views.

Bar was a bit of a disappointment. I was on the ground floor, relatively small and very little atmosphere. Also, the bar wasn't open at times specified (only matters as female travelling alone, it's always good to have somewhere to go in the hotel).

Everything! I chose it for the location and facilities especially the indoor pool and gym.

More a feedback than a dislike: I couldn’t complete room service via online platform, had to call guest services but also because I didn’t have an Australian number. Also room service and the Jin bar aren’t open Monday and Tuesday. Not a big concern just a feedback.

The rooms were spacious, the bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The gym had a variety of staple equipment. The pool, sauna, spa, jacuzzi area was big enough to host a lot of people and was kept clean. Location is right next to Southern Cross station and is surrounded by many restaurants and cafes.

Communication with the hotel prior to checking in was a little messy. I explained to them via email that my partner was checking in before me, but they told me to speak to Booking.com. I checked in online to initiate the fast check-in process and gave my partner the screenshot of the check-in QR code and credit card used for the booking. They wouldn't allow him into the room, so he still had to wait a couple of hours until I arrived.

Our room had bedbugs, would recommend to inspect your bed and bed sides at night. I saw them during the night and in the morning, but could not quite place it as I had never seen them before, just had itching hands, and 20+ stings started to show a bit delayed. Had to google, to identify them as the real thing. But apparently, this is not a lack of hygiene, they hide in furniture crevices, so did not think I should downrate the hotel much for it, could happen anywhere, and may be limited to just this room. The many digital lights in the room are a bit bright.

Hotel using tablets to check in but no record of our stay on arrival despite confirmed booking, had to register again. Heard other guests say they had trouble using them as well. Staff at front desk did not give receipt for payment of bill, had to ask for it and no tags for leaving suitcases till check in time. Customer service at front counter needs some work. Pillows too soft (even the firmer ones) and mattresses hard. Description said inner courtyard view, our view was of the large car park next door from our room.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. Their warmth and professionalism truly set the tone for a fantastic stay. The rooms were spotless, beautifully maintained, and very comfortable, offering everything I needed for a relaxing visit. The location couldn’t have been better, right in the heart of the CBD, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the city, dining, and shopping. The facilities were absolutely top-notch. I thoroughly enjoyed the sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, gym, and pool, which provided the perfect setting for unwinding after a busy day. The Hotel staff were all very helpful, polite and friendly. On the day of our departure from the hotel, our flight to the UK was scheduled for 22.30. The hotel allowed us to check out at 13.00, and store our luggage. We were also able to use the seating area near reception and the gin bar to wait in comfort until our taxi arrived. We had lunch and coffees in the Gin Bar. All this made our travel experience much more comfortable. During our 3 night stay, the location of the hotel meant we were able to explore the city easily, and return to our room easily when necessary. The area nearby was always very busy, but we felt safe walking around. The “night light” set low down under the fridge / clothes hanging unit was a great idea, as were the environmentally friendly non-plastic (wood?) door keys.

The breakfast was good, but the choice of breakfast cereal, fresh fruit and cooked food was limited. We have stayed in other hotels, such as Premier Inn, which are less comfortable but have a better breakfast. Our lunch in the Gin Bar was ok, but could have been better. We had fish & chips, and although the fish and chips were fine, there were no vegetable options, such as peas. Also the chips were covered in salt crystals which made me very thirsty. I enjoyed using the pool, but the unisex shower / changing room was a surprise. I think a changing cubicle within the changing room should be provided.

Great facilities in a fantastic location. Everything was so clean and well presented, the staff were lovely and helpful. Great value for money!

Poor communication of extras, we were turned away from buffet breakfast as we didn't book the day before despite the restaurant being nearly empty. Tried to order coffee from the bar/cafe but they shut down between 12:00-12:30, we were then told to try the "all day dining facilities" and were turned away again. Would have been fine with all of this if we were told about it or it was better signed...
