Location was perfect for a city break, 1 min walk to train station (across a road from 1 of the exits) & 5 min walk to Bullring. Hotel itself is beautiful and luxurious! Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Our room was ready early and we were able to check in prior to the check in time without extra charge which was amazing.

You are not able to control the temperature on the air con unit of your room - even with the radiator off, the room was still too hot most of the time. Only 1 window was not bolted shut but that was in the bathroom.

The location was amazing - so close to the station and shops. Beds comfortable. Gracious hotel with history. Lovely architecture. Modernised to a good standard. Staff were lovely. Left bags for the day. Check out was 11am allowing a leisurely start.

I thought more of a nod to the hotels beauty. The foyer floors painted black but could have been restored with more sensitivity. Pictures of past famous visitors could have adorned walls. View from our room wasn’t good but I asked for a quiet room and it was very quiet. Good air conditioning. No mini fridge - UK hotels don’t seem to have them. Birmingham museum which is beautiful was closed and the canal cruise which is great filled up so the day I planned with my daughter fell through. This has nothing to do with the hotel but I wanted to let travellers know.

The decor, cleanliness and location.

Couldn’t turn the thermostat below 24 degrees. I understand why this is done but would have been nicer to have a slightly cooler room at night.

Location, food

Our suite was dusty on top of the skirting boards on left hand side of bed. The heating was turned off during the day which meant it was cold and uncomfortable. There were issues with the car parks. The Grand Central car park would not let us register as our vehicle had a foreign number plate, the other car park in B4 area was too far away from the hotel when we had heavy luggage to move through a busy city centre. We arrived at the hotel about 90 minutes before the check in time but were told the room wasn't ready...this wasn't a problem but we asked the receptionist to call us as soon as the room was ready but he never called us.

The location was perfect Beautiful decor Friendly staff very professional and informative Food was tasty and well presented Comfortable beds Rooms clean and stylish

Although we understood given the location and style of the Burlington was not going to budget prices somethings we thought was over priced the drinks being one of them The bar snacks being another We took up the offer of upgrading our room on arrival. Was slightly confused about how our original standard double was that much different from the upgraded room we received the size I believe was not much different The lack of storage was disappointing

The location is absolutely perfect across from New street and Grand Central and in the town centre. The hotel is very beautiful and the reception was very welcoming. The room was large and spacious with a nice seating area. The bed was large and comfortable. The bathroom was more compact but okay.

Sadly the location allows quite a bit of noise particularly on the side my room, 202, was on as it faces the railway station and the Tram stops. The noise continued until after midnight and commenced around 05:00. The room was extremely cold and I was unable to turn the temperature up.

Loved the location. So handy for the Christmas market and shopping. All the staff were amazing. We enjoyed drinks in the bar and they were delicious. Breakfast was so tasty too. We have already booked for next year despite our criticism.

We paid for an upgrade when we arrived. I kind of wish we had not bothered. The room was right next to a function room, and let me tell you, it was loud! I have no issue with functions and actually the loudness I could have coped with had we been prewarned (could have brought earplugs). It was the base that caused the whole room to vibrate, no exaggeration. We had an early start that morning and wanted an early night, which couldn't happen, unfortunately.

Beautiful property. Close to train station which was ideal. Staff very helpful booking taxis for us to and from theatre. Breakfast staff very attentive. and friendly. Good choice for breakfast.

Only problem, my friend who was 80 has mobility problems and had to climb quite a few stairs to the room. Possibly I should have asked for another room where there there no stairs to climb. I would know the next time when I’m at the Burlington to request a room nearer the lift. Ordered room service in the evening, quite a long wait for it to be delivered and was a bit disappointed in what we ordered, fries could have been cooked longer and were lukewarm.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the service, food, and drinks were all served as a 5 star experience. The entire hotel was comfortable and welcoming, with a nice library-themed bar area to have drinks and food, and rooms that were spacious, warm, and well-equipped. The bed was comfy, the amenities well stocked, and the breakfast was lovely. It was easy to find and in a central location, however there was no noise to disturb sleep at night. Will happily stay here again.

The sofa in the room was a little hard, but not off-putting

Loved the location for the station and Christmas Market trip. The staff were very friendly. The room was a good size.

It overlooked the inner area, which was where the very noisy heating and water system was located. Very cold draughty windows. Unfortunately, the lovely heavy curtains were full length and covered the warm radiator too! Poor design due to then blocking out the heat when closed. The bathroom radiator/towel rail wasn't working either.. However, the hotel has some amazing period character and charm as well as a superb cooked breakfast.
