The staff were very polite and friendly and helpful couldn't do enough to help especially with me being disabled

Had to have my shower head changed while i was there and definitely wasn't happy with how slow the bath tap run and i was offered to be moved room but it wasn't possible with me having a walking stick with me and i was disappointed with the little bit of hot breakfast you get when you book bed and breakfast the bacon was grease and not even a little bit crispy the scrambled eggs were like mush and the hash browns were hard but i will give them the benefit of the doubt they did refund me the breakfast money as only had it 2 days and that was it and i complained both times

I loved the Elstead Hotel! It is a great, traditional British seaside hotel with friendly staff, a huge and well-appointed room (214) and a tasty breakfast. The room had a fridge, a sofa, a table and chairs, a desk and a large wardrobe. The bathroom was dated but really good quality and clean. The hospitality tray had decaf coffee and little tea pots. There was an iron and board as well as the ubiquitous trouser press. With a kitchenette, the room would have been a studio flat to live in! And the big, fluffy towels were a touch of luxury. Breakfast was just right, in my view. There were limited options but this meant what there was, was done very well, with no faff. The cooked breakfast was tasty and the cereal choice was extensive.

The television in our room was tiny! The room arrangement, with sofa next to the TV and table and chairs opposite the TV (at the end of the bed) meant the sofa couldn’t be used to watch the telly. In addition, the pillows were quite hard and flat so couldn’t prop one up easily and the chairs were in the way. We were staying one night, so this did not matter. However, this room would be excellent for a longer stay so a swap between the sofa and table and chairs would be a good move. The communal areas are in dire need of decoration but it doesn’t really matter. It adds to the traditional ambience, somewhat!

1. It is in close location to the beach 2. It has a swimming pool, which was great when it was heavy rain. 3. We had restaurants nearby. 4. Staff are mostly exceptionally friendly 5. Large room, warm and cosy 6. Clean 7. Good fresh traditional breakfast with gluten free options 8. Each part of the hotel has some artefacts from the past. 9. Quiet. 10. Parking on site.

1. The hotel's destiny is to be demolished, so nobody invests in it. That is a bummer because this place has a soul and with a proper idea and investment might be a very exceptional place for this city. Unfortunately, the new owner knows only how to demolish and build from the scrap and has no imagination or willingness to do something great. Pity.

Our stay was very good. Our room was big, clean comfortable. There were biscuits on a tray with nice tea and coffee in our room. The bathroom was a good size and very clean. The location was quiet. We used the swimming pool which my son liked very much and was mostly just us in the pool. There was also a sauna and steam room along with gym rooms. Breakfast is more of a continental style but the croissants are delicious.!

The location is a little far to walk to beach and town centre, Especially coming back as it is hilly, therefore we got a taxi on return journey. There is no food at the Elsread apart from breakfast, the hotel do provide a list of restaurants in the area.

The rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. The kids loved the pool, and didn't miss a day in it, even after long hours on the beach.

We had 2 rooms, one of them was lovely spacious and bright with big windows, the other one was small and very dark with just one small window. Both rooms were quite a distance from each other and tgat was very inconvenient considering we were a family with 2 children. It was a hot weather and the temperature in the room wasn't very different from outside, there was a ceiling fan but it wasn't working in one of the rooms.

The hotel is 3 stars and you can see that from the age of the hotel....However on arrival the reception staff were so helpful with my early booking. The facilities for the cost you pay are spot on. The Bfast again for the cost was excellent. It's the best scrambled eggs ever. However, this should be a 5 star hotel due to AnnaBell. She worked the Bfast and the bar in an evening. She was so helpful, friendly and greeted everyone with a smile and made my stay perfect. I would come back here in a heartbeat because Anne Bell made it feel like home. She is a credit to your staff.

Nothing at all.

Location was convenient near shops, cafes and coach station for pickup. Parking was free and excellent. Our room was a good size clean family room, comfortable beds, chairs, lovely bathroom, facilities. Appreciated the pool, exercise rooms, saunas, jacuzzi, large, bright breakfast room, good breakfast, a room with seating, plates, silverware to eat our Chinese takeaway and friendly staff. We really enjoyed our stay.

Just needed a small paint repair job in the Womens changing room at the pool. Otherwise facility was a plus for the hotel cost.

The atmosphere of the Hotel was welcoming and friendly, staff were all pleasant, helpful and very efficient. The building is in a nice residential leafy part of the town, away from the main hustle and bustle but within reasonable walking distance of other amenities such a restaurants and pubs. The Hotel had its own charm, was elegant and quirky. As it had been a Hotel for quite a few years and most of the staff had worked there for for more then 5 or 6 years they managed to create a warm, peaceful and welcoming atmosphere. Our room had everything that we required for our 3 night stay. Great breakfasts and plentiful. Cleanliness was spot on. Spacious car park too.

Nothing

Very good location, free parking (do not park under a tree if you don't want your car to be spoiled and filthy by the birds), staff very kindness and welcoming. The room was nice, decent size, tidy, and clean. Room temperature was perfect. Room provided with iron and ironing table. Free coffee and tea with a kettle ready to be used. You can have a take away and the staff will provided you with plates and cutlery in case is needed. Decoration is not up to date but it is very functional, and the bed is comfortable. Free access to the pool an sauna that we didn't used it.

Very very very creaky floorboards throughout the hotel, and there was a disconcerting drop when you step in the lift. No food available in the hotel in the evening but that is not a problem because as I wrote you can buy something at the shops nearby or order some food and eat it in the room. The shower pressure in the room wasn't very good and we discovered why, the flexible hose was damaged. There was a leak coming from the bath screen due the rubber shower door seal it was broken. The space between the toilet and the shower was minimum, making hard to wipe your bottom after doing a number two.

The staff were all amazing - so friendly and helpful and willing to go the extra mile. When I asked for a couple more milk pots for the room I was given a jug to take up. They also extended our checkout time a little free of charge and held our bags for the day. Breakfast was self service and to a good standard - the bacon was crispy and the chef made my daughter scrambled eggs. We all enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi.

The bed was on the hard side but the rest of my family slept very well. There is no air conditioning available so we had the fan on a low setting all night which seemed to work. This visit we were on the back of the building at the weekend which is quieter than the front at night if having the window open overnight.
