Great location. Staff very obliging and cheerful. Food was very good. Plenty of good quality comfortable chairs in the Bar area, as well as other quieter areas of the hotel. A bonus if one is reading! The Head Waiter was outstanding, and the Dining Room very well organised and running like clockwork when he was present. Everywhere particularly clean & tidy. The room we were in was well equipped and well maintained.

The mattress in our room was dreadful! Although it had a thin topper on, if we go again I would ask for at least two more toppers, because as it was it was like sleeping on concrete!

Golf course looked good. Didn’t play it mind you. The European waiter in the restaurant was an absolute delight. Sauna and steam rooms were good. Food all round good, nothing to complain about.

Had to go 3-4 plates down before finding a clean one at the breakfast. Nearly all of them had a speck or two of dirt on. Whilst I understand the heat of the dishwasher alone is enough to kill any germs, it’s not nice seeing anything on your plate. The tv reception in room 303 was poor, kept jittering about, was ok for first 5 mins or so then struggled (for if you go to check it). Spa- we had access to free water by the pool. Was surprised that no one came to offer drinks from the bar at any time. The 4 hours total we spent there we saw one group get offered drinks and they were behind the curtains so presumably were on a different package to us. I’m more than happy to pay for a drink, I’d just like one while chilling in the spar!

Staff were very friendly, bar had a good atmosphere, the breakfast and views over the greens was excellent. Good size room, very quiet. Comfortable beds and had a variety of hot drinks with biscuits in your room. Pool and area was very warm. Jacuzzi was nice. The treatment - facial and massage was very good. Other spa guests were enjoying a lovely afternoon tea.

Problem with plumbing- water not draining away normally in room. We only stayed one night so not a real problem as we showered in the spa. They were having some building works done. Couldn’t provide the spa robe and slippers - problem with laundry but they did inform us of this prior. Steam room too hot. Needs more lighting. in the cubicles in the changing room.

The food in the Lake restaurant was immaculate, with incredible staff who were so attentive and lovely & made the dinner experience unforgettable. The hotel is based on beautiful grounds, of which we were able to absorb after taking a walk around the golf course. The view from our room was beautiful (Tamara suite).

The furniture, especially the bathroom in the room could have done with a makeover, with the showers in the spa downstairs being much more powerful and modern than those in the room. The option for an early check in or late checkout was not available. A glass was smashed beside the pool area by another guest, which had not been cleaned up properly, leaving a large piece of glass inside the pool, luckily found by my other half before it could cause an injury to anyone else.

Welcomed by staff to breakfast excellent choice both cold and hot buffet, room was on 1st floor lift nearby. Dinner was very good lakes restaurant choice on menu excellent, Sports Bar likewise excellent choice.

Just a minor issue our room was to the left of main entrance facing carpark and you could hear staff moving bins about but only a few minutes in morning and late afternoon. Unfortunately my wife was unable to have any treatments as fully booked, that's a fault on our part for not pre-booking.

The Spa was brilliant the reserving of beds excellent plenty of room. Spa treatment excellent. The hotel staff were all very nice always said hello . We had a lovely lady who served us afternoon tea she was just lovely. Afternoon tea amazing value my friend commented better than the Ritz. Sports bar food again couldn't fault staff again excellent couldn't go out their way to help. We wanted to decide our bill four ways and sorted it out. Beds very comfortable, good tea and coffee.

Nothing to complain about

The hotel is clean. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The sauna, steam room. jacuzzi and pool were perfect for some much needed relaxation.

Everything was great. There was a matter at breakfast though; there was hair in the food. I spoke to one of the waiters and gave him the piece of hair. He was apologetic and said he'd raise it with the cook.. Normally this would massively subtract from my rating but everything else was so lovely I've marked the rating down one point. I'd return.

All the staff I met were so kind and welcoming. On arrival, we were actually upgraded to a room with a view of the garden/golf course. This was a lovely surprise! We thoroughly enjoyed the use of the spa facilities too.

The only complaint I would have is the facilities in the room, a hairdryer would have been handy! The pool area also could just use some more regular cleaning checks as there was dirty items and glasses spread about.

We loved location and we had a beautiful valentines meal, fantastic service and brilliant view. Bar staff were friendly and there was a great atmosphere. Spa staff with lovely and showed us around the facilities, which were fab. We cannot wait to come again.

The room was only slight disappointment. It was big and had lovely toiletries and refreshments. However in places it was a bit dated and the furniture had marks on, which a refurb would completely fix. Overall though the bed was comfortable and it was spacious with good storage space for clothes etc..

Ideal countryside location & peaceful setting overlooking the golf course. Staff were very friendly and lunch served in the bar was excellent. Dinner in the restaurant was very good, although the a la carte menu was limited & food could have been a bit warmer. For a group of friends who are staying, the hotel can accommodate 3 adults in one room, with normal sized beds, making the stay excellent value for money.

Everything was excellent. We have stayed a few times before & some of the bedrooms were a bit dated & tired, but it was pleasing to see that a renovation programme is being undertaken (but with no noticeable disruption)
