Located in Conwy walls on the high street, it’s a beautiful place to stay as a couple for a weekend away. The sea front is less than a 5 minute walk, it’s close to lovely restaurants and small businesses. The shower in the room on the top floor is HUGE (the length of the bathroom!) and the stand alone bath is a huge plus. My partner LOVES baths, and he was elated with this one. There’s also plenty of space for getting ready in the morning, it has a nice vanity area. You get free drinks in the tea rooms downstairs if you stay. Breakfast isn’t included- but the prices vs portions are very generous. We’ve previously stayed at a property owned by the same people who own Pen Y Bryn, and are always pleased.

The mattress was squeaky

Lovely little room - The Walls - on the top floor. Nicely decorated, comfortable bed & very clean. Excellent shower and it was lovely to have bath sheets, instead of smaller towels. Room doesn’t overlook the street, so very quiet except for the seagulls (but it is a seaside town after all) Enjoyed being right in the centre of this pretty town, with everything in easy walking distance. Highly recommended staying here - it’s amazing value for money. Breakfast isn’t included but you get a discount in the Love To Eat tearoom downstairs. The food was really good and all of the staff absolutely lovely. Hoping to return one day.

Room was lovely, stayed in a one bedroom suite. Well appointed - bathroom was massive! Toiletries supplied. Very clean. Was brought clean towels, toilet roll and milk every morning. Breakfast was served in café next door which was made to order full English and lovely, staff all really lovely and friendly. I had mentioned i was celebrating daughters birthday and on arrival they had put balloons, cake and wine which i thought was a lovely touch - very thoughtful. Good location right on the main street, lots of restaurants close by - just be wary they close early!

Could have done with somewhere to hang towels, another mirror in the bedroom - long length if possible would have been nice but we coped for 3 nights

Room was lovely plenty of towels also had our towels changed daily. Host made sure everything was there and also a very comfortable bed.

Breakfast was served next door in the cafe. Breakfast wasn’t that nice first day it was all deep fried and the second day we were dictated to to what we could have. I have never witnessed staff being so rude both morning where potential customers walked in to order and they were told it was only the hotel gu it’s allowed in at this time as they do not open till 10am. There was only me and my husband in. Clearly this person only works there and wasn’t bothered about profits or the bosses business. I also found this woman to be very abrupt and rude with potential customers. Also the wooden tables the ridges were filthy with old food in them, this is bad for a cafe. Don’t think I would ever want to use the cafe again as certainly was not made to feel welcome at all.

Great location, clean and comfortable. Great to have a mini fridge and coffee maker. Nice little extras with sweets and orange juice.

Shower was unpredictable mainly due to Very hot water. Cold tap in sink won’t turn off and is constantly running. Very dirty windows on the outside which spoilt the lovely view. Obviously very recently painted so a strong smell for the first 24 hours but it improved by the second day. Has a clock but doesn’t work and no mirror other than a A5 size one above sink. Not best for tall people due to low door ways.

it was an excellent stay.. the location is superb (central and near to everything) and easy to find.. parking was available (need to be reserved and pay 10/day).. the room was cosy, quiet and clean (it was a bit small but acceptable because it was built on centuries ago).. the breakfast was delicious (had english bfast and coffee).. must try their cheesy meat lasagne.. but to top it all,, the staff were accomodating and very kind ♥️.. definitely recommend this..

the stairs was a bit steep, some part of carpet are nearly detached and you can hear some foot steps.. minimal cons..

The bathroom views were unreal - Castle walls from the roll top bath! The staff in the cafe were absolutely brilliant, they made our stay - breakfast was great, tasted brilliant and clearly local products. On arrival the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and during breakfast.

No USB sockets, no mirror in the bedroom and the noise of people in the high street in the early hours (out of the owners control unfortunately). Needs a little TLC now which we reported but easily sorted. Great value considering a premiere Inn which is not central was £320 for the two nights we’d stayed without breakfast included.

the service from the staff at the cafe was exceptional they were so friendly and helpful and the breakfast was excellent. The room was beautifully designed

The hot tap on the sink was on the wrong way round so it was difficult to use, you have to turn it backwards. The room was near the gents toilets for the cafe which was very smelly and the carpet in the hallway is very smelly down stairs in the main entrance near the door and the carpet on the rest of the stairs is very scruffy looking

We liked everything about the room and enjoyed our stay. It was everything you'd expect from a nice hotel, at half the price. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and we appreciated having an ensuite. Had we stayed for breakfast, I'm sure it would have been to the same high standards as everything else.

The only slight issue was parking, but that was down to our late arrival time, so there was no-one to tell us where to park. We have no complaints about anything that Pen y Bryn has any control over.

Lovely little weekend stay! Right in the heart of Conwy at the top of the high street and opposite the train station, so very convenient. The room was so cosy, comfortable and clean. Great staff who couldn't have done more, and a lovely breakfast to set you up for the day. The only note I can make is to maybe have a small breakfast menu or let guests know their options beforehand. Will definitely be returning to Pen y Bryn 😄
