Friendly welcome. Great room, spacious clean and comfortable with lovely views towards the town walls and beyond to the valley. Restaurant had a good menu and we enjoyed dinner with friends on one of our evenings at the Erskine. Breakfast was good although not exceptional
One morning I think the regular chef must have been off and breakfast was poor. Fruit was well past its best and served in water, yuk. Attention to detail was lacking eg no butter on the muffins. Fortunately our other two mornings everything was absolutely fine. No problems at all and very efficient, courteous staff

I have stayed at the nearby sister property 'Y Capel' on a number of occasions but this was my first time at the Erskine and it was equally pleasant. A very high standard of room, which was spacious with a nice view over the castle (due to being on the top floor!). Friendly staff and a good selection of toiletries and tea/coffee. Very comfortable bed.
I had to watch my head in the low ceilinged bathroom, but you expect that kind of thing with a characterful old building and not much they could do about it. The pillows were not of the standard I would expect compared to the rest of the room. The full breakfast was very good but the selection of cereals/fruit was a bit meagre and the black pudding far too sweet for my taste.

I liked everything! It might seem unrealistic to some only I couldn't fault anything about our time at The Erskine Arms. Ben, the General Manager, listened to my concerns regarding my husband's current mobility issues and having to step into the bath to use the shower. Ben came up with a reasonable solution, the provision of a small portable step, which worked well. Housekeeping happily supplied extra towels to mop up water which had sprayed from the shower, again due to how hubby was using the shower. Our room was large, clean and tidy with ample storage. The bed was extremely comfortable. Sundries such as tea, coffee, bottled water, biscuits etc were topped up daily. There were plenty of options to choose for breakfast each morning, the food we had then at at dinner time was delicious. The staff were courteous and friendly leaving us feeling welcome.
Genuinely felt emotional when the time came for us to leave, that's what I didn't like.

Beautiful hotel and room. Perfect location in wonderful town. Staff generally helpful though when we needed to leave and catch a train, the woman at the desk was slow to inform us of the inadequacy of the taxi service (because the schools were using them).
Would have liked more vegetarian options to be available. They ran out of soy milk, which I like in my cappuccino. When leaving, the woman at the desk could have offered more information about the (lack of) taxi service and how to use the train since we were unable to buy tickets online.

A nicely presented room with a good sized bed. A good pillow choice and enough storage space for clothes. A full bathroom, not just an en-suite sqeezed into one of the corners. Tea/coffee facilities and hairdryer also provided. A good choice of daytime and evening food, fairly priced too and also a sizable drinks selection with lots of local brews.
Although there were a decent selection of foods available throughout the day there does seem to be a problem with providing "hot" food. It would have been easy to send my cold chips back but I would then end up waiting for fresh ones whilst my wife continued to eat her meal. The idea is to dine out together and not at different times. The same again at breakfast, the poached eggs were lovely but not so nice on cold toast. I also think that if you require a cappuccino with breakfast then it should not cost extra.

The hotel was right next to the train station which was very convenient, but it wasn’t noisy at all. We had a room at the back. It was spacious and comfy, the bed was firm and the duvet not too hot. We had a bath in the bathroom which was excellent after a day’s walking, also a heated towel rail which was handy for washing some walking kit. It was a really comfortable stay.
The bar and food area is great, beautifully decorated and convivial. The food is a little basic though. But mainly good, don’t let that put you off!

Lovely cosy room with comfy bed and large bathroom, tea & coffee-making facilities with biscuits, great pub-restaurant downstairs which was lively and atmospheric, also a quiet room available for hotel guests to have a drink and chat away from noisy bar. Location great - Conwy is quite small so everywhere accessible on foot from the hotel.
The hotel doesn't have parking other than a couple of spots over the road which were always full. The hotel had emailed info about parking before my arrival so I was prepared, and chose a nearby public car park about 3-5 mins walk down under the wall.

Have stayed here a couple of times before. We ate in with them one of our two nights. The evening meal and breakfast were very good.
The lack of parking means you have to use local public car parks. There is no option to buy a parking permit up front (i have checked before with Conwy Council). One local car park offered 24 hour parking as an option but when it came to paying that option was not available. Despite paying for parking using the Pay on Your Phone app which is advertised on the side of the Parking Machines, we and our friends both got parking tickets despite having paid via the app £14.60 for 48 hours parking.

Beautiful place full of charm and ambiance- we were on the top floor and worried about the train, street and church noise, but didn't bother us a bit! Comfortable bed, nice sized room, great view. Nice breakfast and friendly, helpful staff. Wonderful location in the middle of all the sights within easy walking distance. Would stay here again!
Pack light as you have to carry it all up (but friendly staff offered to help!) the stairs. Parking is challenging- ended up parking on High Street overnight but don't leave too long.

Great location, beautiful decor, friendly staff
Pillows In the bedroom were wafer thin, resulting in a poor night’s sleep for us both (at £130 a night, would expect better quality pillows), also the room was very hot, we opened the window, which made the quarter hour chiming of the local church very loud . Breakfast was quite basic, two tiny chipolata sausages, dried up, cardboard like bacon, strangely sweet tasting black pudding, nothing was tasty, and not particularly hot.
