Very clean, all signage clear but not obtrusive, staff clearly focussed on guests needs. Locals in bar respected our space, while getting on with their lives - we think there was a pool league or similar event. Location was better than expected - yes, it's near the Expressway but we got little traffic noise and found a nice walk into the village and nearby seafront. Room was warm, comfortable and well furnished, with reliable plumbing. Had chairs in bedroom which many places miss out. We had missed dinner time but owner Steve helped us order a delivered-takeaway and provided plates and cutlery. Breakfast was generous and tasted great. Over breakfast co-owner Gavin chatted to us about things to do nearby - and his suggestions proved excellent. Made great start to holiday week.
Almost nothing to criticise. Room better than expected and breakfast generous. Car park is a bit small so could be a challenge if lots of guests/locals bring a car. Getting takeaway delivered took around 45mins.

The good lady and me really enjoyed our couple of nights stay @ THE GLADSTONE in June 2023. The room was excellent although only merited "economy without views" as we booked our stay when the Hotel was full (only 6 rooms). Unfortunate that there was not an upgrade available. We chose to dine at the Hotel as the food was wholesome, tasty and cooked to perfection with a non processed appeal presented from a reasonable priced menu. The Gladstones heart was the bar with sea views and chesterfield furniture, very trad' decor, real ales and cheerful bar staff - suited me being a pub person with years as a CAMRA member and many more years enjoying the beers around the world. Overall The Gladstone deserves a high score review, I would not bother at all reviewing inferior establishments so I am pleased to confirm the visit as most enjoyable. Marty
The chance to upgrade our room was not offered despite 3 months advanced booking. So our room offered 2 small windows - high up so we could not see anything outside.

Lovely staff very efficient and compident could not do enough for you . The breakfast was as good as any we have had before, the evening meals were also excellent and very reasonably priced. The atmosphere in the pub was also good with a mixture of different ages .A good selection of beers and very good for dogs also.
The double room was a little small but comfortable. We have rebooked for later in the year but have booked the king-size for a little extra room.

Great location and close to where I needed to be. Breakfast was good quality and made to order. Staff were friendly and engaging. I arrived on a Monday and there is no evening meal which I hadn't realised though it was clearly stated. They provided details on take outs and that this could be eaten on site. 20 mins later Pizza was delivered into me and the hotel supplied all i needed. The couple next to me were having fish and chips and again plates, sauce etc was promptly provided. The site had music whilst there but not intrusive and the placed filled with people to enjoy the acoustic set. Plenty of dogs with their owners were again catered for. The room i had was a four poster and it did have a slight bit of movement in its structure which i advised the hotel on. It did not impact on my nights sleep and the view out was great. Tea, kettle were all provided and replenishments as required. parking though limited was fine and i could see my vehicle from the bedroom so could see it was safe. Probably around a dozen spaces. evening food was excellent and the place was cozy with the open fire being topped up in the lounge.
No meals on Mondays but chef does need a day off and they provided a workaround solution to it very well.

We found our stay at the Gladstone to be one of the highlights of our trip so far. Not only is it located in a beautiful area of Wales but the place itself is delightful. The rooms and property were spotlessly clean, the bathroom was very nice and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was delicious too. The comfort and the enjoyment we experienced during our stay was only surpassed by the gracious hospitality and friendliness of our hosts. We were made to feel so at home and so welcomed by everyone at the Gladstone that we were actually sorry to have to leave. Looking forward to returning someday.

Really welcoming staff from the minute we arrived. it was very personable and really great location. We did end up driving into Conwy for dinner but the pub had such a great atmosphere we should have stayed! the breakfast the next day was 11/10 delicious and the staff couldn’t have been any more hospitable. Although we only stayed for 1 night we’d do it all again in a heartbeat! Highly recommend and will be coming back :)
The walls of the rooms are fairly thin, but to be expected in an old building. The other guests weren’t noisy either and the pub gets quiet once all the customers downstairs leave.

Excellent stay at the Gladstone, all the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. It is close to the beach which has a lovely promenade and family area, great to walk our dog at any time of the day. The property is in a perfect location to explore North Wales, lots to see and do. Great breakfast, cooked fresh to order. Lovely rooms, well decorated and comfortable beds, we were upgraded to a sea-view room on our last night and the view was stunning. Very dog friendly place as well.
Nothing.

From the moment we got there we felt welcome. We knew we had arrived after the kitchen had closed on the Sunday, but they offered to stay open for us and we got an unexpected and delicious Sunday roast which saved us the task of finding somewhere on a freezing night. It is family run, full of character and characters! Drinking in the bar chatting with locals and the family, playing pool, watching the Sunday night pool match, then a surprise Monday night folk club which was certainly interesting! Great breakfast freshly prepared with plenty of choice. Good location close to A55, so easy to tour the area.
There was nothing really you would not expect from an older building. We loved it.

great staff and such a lovely place to stay. Proper little inn with a cozy pub downstairs. We had dinner there once which was delicious. Everything is done with lots of love and kindness. Great location to explore Northern Wales and hike Snowdon.
not a big complaint, but we would have loved to have a little bit of fresh fruit for breakfast. At least an apple or banana. Was all Full Welsh which was tasty but very heavy.
