Everything was fine. The room was good.the bathroom had been updated and the breakfast buffet was good. The location was excellent.
Lots of bus tour groups so if you are an individual traveller have your breakfast after the buses leave, about 8:30 is good.

Great location, in the centre of Fort William and close to the train and bus stations. There was a public garden to relax in, just in front of the hotel. Plentiful breakfast, with a little something for everyone (even those who do not particularly appreciate a full Scottish breakfast). The staff was kind and welcoming, the spaces clean and comfortable. Lovely view of the loch.
Room was a little small. Also, I wish they could offer options for washing and drying clothes at the hotel, even if at an added fee. There are very few laundry services in Fort William, and the closest one (40min walking distance!) did not accept my laundry because they had too many requests. The spaces were very "classic" decor-wise, but it was part of the charm.

Check-in was seamless and they were only too happy to look after my bag for the day (arrived on the Caledonian Sleeper at 10am!) and again after I checked out until my departure (almost - another story!) in the evening. It's a prime location for access to all amenities, across the road from the train station, the buses just behind that, supermarket and convenience stores, plus cafes, pubs and restaurants along High Street.
There wasn't anything to not like, the only thing missing was the usual Room Compendium type folder with information on things like room services, contact numbers etc, which when mentioned was going to be brought up with management (they were removed due to COVID).

Decor in room and in lobby, size of room, bathtub, view out the window. I enjoyed that there was enough room in the room to just sit quietly and look out the vwindow and read and drink tea and look out the window. Kind of old-fashioned (60s?) feel that made me remember my childhood. Steff was friendly and helpful. Short walk to the train, bus and downtown area.
The elevator was broken so walking up and down the steps, which normally I would have considered a good workout, was a bit inconvenient with a bum knee. It is a big place and they fill it with tours in buses, which always reduces the intimacy of a place but I get it that the business reality of a place that big requires that, and the staff were never impersonal in spite of the crowds. Ft William was a bit touristy for me, not sure I would choose to go back, but that is not the fault of the hotel

The location was excellent. Right next to the train and bus station. Lots of restaurants around. The room was cosy and nice. The bathroom was big, and everything was cleaned every day. There was a problem with the bolier the first morning, but theybsort it out fairly quickly during the day, and after that, everything worked jurt fine, and heating in the room was perfect. Breakfast was great because it was buffet style and had a wide selection of food, including vegetarian options The hotel is old, but I think that it is pretty well maintained, and it has its own charm. I would stay here again.

rooms were not close together , but i do not mind at all, as i got it close enough to my 3 kids ( one 18 y.o) and my views and a room what amazing !!! ( room 402 ) Location is the best for holiday with kids : town , bowling ,cinema , walks and even taxi if kids feels like snacking :) all in walking distance.
Something hotel can not control - swimming pool ?? Ben nevis hotel near by pool is cold , outdated , all lockers broken , water overdone on chlorine , to the point of kids finding it harder to breath. On the last day(13th of February ) one staff member was overly controlling with rules and regulations seems to be for my kids only !!! so it killed the mood for me and kids completely ... so Ben Nevis hotel BIG NO !!! avoid ! On the other note , we went for swim in Isle of Glencoe hotel - a bit far ( 20 min drive ), but water is warm , so as staff and clean clean clean .Everything in working order and lunch after by the water was amazing . However , too isolated , so Alexandra hotel was ideal location with kids

Very comfortable bed and a superb shower which really is everything you need especially when you have been doing activities all day. The hotel is also quiet and in a good location in the town. Good value.
The bar area was soulless. It seemed to be aimed at the corporate market rather than the tourist/holiday traveller. That taken with the high price of beer made me eat and drink else were in the town. The reception staff were not as welcoming as they could be. A ‘Good Morning’ or ‘ Good Evening’ and a smile is all it needs to be improved.

Typical full English breakfast. The room was a decent size, we got a king bed, and the water was hot with plenty of pressure in the shower. The hotel is literally right across the street from the train station, and on one end of the High Street, so it's super convenient. The staff as pleasant and helpful.
The hotel bar did not serve food except within very limited hours, so it was impossible to get a late afternoon snack in the hotel, so we walked down the street to find something.

Great location, good car park at hotel with train and bus station straight across the road. 2 mins walk from shops. large dining room with good breakfast, and plenty of it. Nice bar and lounge to enjoy a drink or coffee.
Nice room, we had triple room with double and single bed and good bathroom. Feel this hotel is over priced, have stayed at much nicer hotels with much better price but appreciate you are paying over the odds for location in the Highlands.

I was a little apprehensive of staying at the Alexandra Hotel as the ratings were a little lower than expected (7ish), and from previous visits to Fort William it hadn't looked the most appealing (the sign currently has a missing letter). I was pleasantly surprised though, the hotel was of a high standard. Check-in was nice and easy, parking ample both in front and rear of the hotel. Location is great, only 50 metres from the railway station, Morrisons, Lidl, and right on the edge of the main Fort William township. There is a park right in front. I ate at the Bistro on two occasions and the food was wholesome and good value, reasonably sized portions. There can be a bit of noise from the bar if a football match is on, but nothing consequential. The room (interior facing) was a good size, as was the bathroom. The bed and pillows were amazing and I had the best night sleep after a few days of hotel hopping. I'd recommend staying here if in Fort William, the food and facilities were good, and it's a great location.
The only downside I came across was the price of breakfast - as it was over £10 (I think either £11.95 or £12.95), far too expensive unless looking to eat everything. The local Morrisons is just over the road (50m away) and does a superb breakfast for only £6 - a sizeable difference if it's a family eating each day. Note, due to the high cost, I didn't eat breakfast at the hotel, so can't comment on the quality of it.
