The house was five minutes walking distance from Inverness town center. The owner could not do enough to make our stay welcome. He provided us with a full cooked English breakfast and then during the days that we were out, he gave us snacks. On our last day, our flight had to be changed so we were leaving at 5 o’clock in the morning which meant we missed our cooked breakfast that day and so the owner made a sandwiches and left them on the door for us to take with us. The room was comfortable and clean.. The bathroom was clean. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Averon House and would recommend it highly
There was nothing that I didn’t like

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome. We were shown our rooms which were spotlessly clean and very comfortable bed. The bathroom had a large selection of hair and bath products and tea and coffee in the bedroom. The dresser drawer contained a sewing kit, sanitary products and other items should you have forgotten to bring them....We were told that the breakfast room was available to use at anytime should we decide to bring in takeaway food of an evening. We had a breakfast that was short of nothing there was selection of fresh fruits, yogurts, scotch pancakes, teacakes, bread rolls, toast, jams, huge choice of cereals followed by a full cooked breakfast. We were then told we could make up a packed lunch to take with us for the day if we would like. Our host went above and beyond, there were packets of boiled sweets to help yourself too aswell....The property is very quirky, lots of antique items and retro toys which we had great fun looking at over breakfast....Sadly we were only there for two nights so couldn't get to spend more time there....I would highly recommend to friends and family as we were made to feel like we were at a relatives home as our host was so hospitable and caring.
I didnt like having to say goodbye to our host as he had made us feel so special... He even stood at the door and waved us off which was really lovely, I've never had that before and I've stayed in lots of guest houses.

The house is an historical, traditional one, kept in very good conditions and decorated with a bit of an eccentric style (that we loved)! Everything is taken care in the details and there are several objects inside that make it really a unique place. Our bedroom was very cool, with colourful wooden parquet, a chimney, a nice old style bed and a very spacious and nicely decorated bathroom. Super silent at night, we slept amanzingly. Sergio, the owner, is such a lovely person, available for anything and who takes care of everything with great attention. You can tell he likes to make the guests feel comfortable and like at home. The breakfast is super rich, Sergio always makes sure the guests have every possible choice! Besides the rich buffet he prepares, He also cooks super nice full breakfasts with eggs, sausages, beans etc. He gave us some useful tips on places to visit and how to get there. With his house and care, he really made our stay wonderful!

Averon house. What criticism is there to make? And how to describe ? A very beautiful typical Scottish house. You have to experience it and not choose any hotel. In a quiet neighborhood in the center of old Inverness. With his own parking position I front of the house. . And now let's go to Mr. Sergio. Whatever you say about this great man will be little. He is lovable. Kind and willing to serve you at any time of the day. Willing to shop for you. Let him have what you like. We arrived at night at 11:00 pm hungry. Cook for us. All the drinks, delicacies and everything in the fridge were at our disposal. It also has equipment. Warm and waterproof jacket, boots and poles for walking and climbing. Everything was wonderful . I look forward to seeing you again. Many greetings Mr. Sergio and our love from Greece.

Easy to find in the dark coming by taxi from the station (due to late hour). Website said check in until 8pm. Due to LNER strike next day causing cancellation of my train I arrived about 10pm. The taxi driver took my luggage to the door, and by the time I got to there Sergio was there welcoming me. He was very hospitable, enquiring as to our needs - another guest was staying - (good company over breakfast). Breakfast was abundant, cooked (the lot) as well as cereal, yogurts, various fruits, toast, jams, etc and as provision for lunch rolls and cheese, etc. My ice blocks were stored in the freezer, and eye drops in the fridge. There was discussion on the level of heating and Sergio came up with an answer both guests, and he, were happy with. Bedroom was spacious, and en-suite bathroom roomy by many standards, with good lighting. I appreciated the good bedside reading light, and enjoyed the traditional feel of the building. Plenteous warm bed coverings should the night turn chilly, and a sash window I could open and close. Sergio said the washing machine could be used, but I didn’t need this.
It’s difficult to say. It was a longer walk to my friend in another part of Inverness than some other B&Bs, but I think their prices are higher. It may help some people to know it is an uphill walk from the High Street, but this was fine for me.

Bedroom on second floor with en suite bathroom was comfortable, clean, well-appointed, and provided a sense of privacy. Sergio, the owner/host, is engaging, kind, and tremendously helpful. He grew up in Inverness and is fun to talk with, but he gave us our space too. He made us feel very comfortable in the house, inviting us to use the musical instruments and the kitchen. Location is very nice, an easy walk up a hill from the downtown area, in a peaceful residential area. Breakfast was ample with all-you-can-eat continental offerings, plus a hot breakfast to order. Sergio went out of his way to prepare us nice vegan breakfasts with veggie sausages etc.
The shared areas (living/music room) are a bit cluttered; this can be part of the charm if you're so inclined since there are 'stories' behind some of the objects

Well what a lovely quirky house , the room was spacious mabye a bit cluttered but felt very homely. The bed was very comfy no trouble sleeping , there was tea and coffee with various different kind of biscuits. The host Sergio what a great guy couldn't have been more accommodating if he tried, made us feel very welcome and laid on a fantastic breakfast. Location was perfect only a 10 minute walk into centre of Inverness also 2 very nice bars literally next door if you couldn't be bothered walking very far.Would definitely recommend this B&B.
If im being picky the room we where in didn't have an electric shower but we managed.

We had such a great time visiting with our host, Sergio. He was very attentive and helpful the two days we spent in his home. He has quite a collection of vintage items. The room was comfortable and private.
Although not a real negative, this neighborhood is on a hill near the older area of town. It could prove to be a challenge for anyone with mobility concerns. That said, this is also a quiet area and one that seems to attract young families and so businesses are opening nearby. It is about a 10 minute walk to the city center bus stop.

Sergio is a very generous host. He makes a great breakfast and then encouraged us to take some bits and bobs for the road each day. The location is really great, but be aware that it is uphill on the way back. We opted for a taxi home each night due to my husband's mobility issues, but we did not have a hard time walking into town each day. Also be aware the bedrooms are up a narrow staircase. As others have mentioned, this is a quirky historical property, and there are lots of nicknacks, but they aren't a hindrance to navigating the house. It was a great stay and a great value for the money.
Nothing.
