The staff were welcoming, helpful, the room well presented, clean and comfortable. Centrally located, only minutes walk to the town centre and even less to the railway station.

The use of winter duvets in summer for us was not the right choice, however for what appeared to be the majority of the clientele, being at least 70 and over, probably why. The housekeeper didn't refill the shower gel dispenser before we arrived, not that it mattered as we had bought our own.

The hotel is lovely, we stayed with our little dogo. The bed was huge the hotel very warm and spotless. Very comfortable stay

Nothing, if anything to really nitpick at I would say maybe in the near future an upgrade on the televisions to smart to keep up with the modern app way of life would be good but not totally needed in such a beautiful part of the world

Fantastic location, Kendal is probably the biggest town with more no. of shops, markets and restaurants in Lake District. Only a 15 mins drive to all the main attractions in Windermere Lake (Brookhole). An eight hour road trip was sufficient to stop by all-important viewpoints across all lakes in the district. Their parking was located right opposite the gate as well. The staff were super friendly, very flexible with bringing food from close by restaurants and providing all additional requests we had. Highly recommend The County Hotel Kendal for LD trips with friends and family.

Cannot think of anything particular.

Breakfast was lovely, the poached eggs were done to perfection.

Room wasn't up to expectations, mould on the outside wall, dust and rubbish under the single bed, and the shower, although no faulting the shower itself, but the surrounds need attention.

Lovely big bed, friendly staff (especially Paula on reception) lovely decoration, lift, nice poached egg on the breakfast. Great location easily able to walk into the main town

Our room was so very hot, we turned the thermostat down on the radiator but it still didn't help. We hadnt realised that the hotel was geared up for its own coach holiday guests. As private paying guests our breakast would be in the bar seperate between 9 and 9.30 alone by ourseves. It made us feel uncomfortable and an after thought, table was laid for drink and toast but no sugars for the drink and the way the menu was worded made us think we could have a cooked breakfast or toast, we couldn't ask for extra because we were alone in the bar

spacious airy bedrooms, neutral decor & comfy beds. The loft was really handy with a pram. Was nice to have a lovely lounge area to chill whilst baby was in bed. Staff were all so friendly and welcoming, couldn’t do enough for us (wish we remembered the name of the lady who welcomed us!)10 mins walk to main town centre was easy. Excellent choice for breakfast, full table service with menu from cereals to fry ups. Will definitely be back in the not so distant future.

The baby’s cot didn’t have an appropriate mattress - a small safety issue, so I’d recommend bringing your own. There’s very little parking spaces, but we were ok as stayed off peak. My brother said he and his gf struggled with the road noise at the front of the property and woke early with HGV’s but I guess that’s expected given the location.

The staff were very nice and helpful, the bed was comfortable and the room was clean, Ideal location and parking right across the street. Overall good night away.

When we arrived the room had just been painted and we had to move the wardrobe and desk back to the walls as they were in the centre of the room, guess it was an honest mistake 🤷🏻‍♂️

Breakfast not great everything was a bit over done and the bacon was smoked

We were in a front room. Window had to be kept open to let some air in. Busy road and people talking outside. A fan would be good for this reason

Unfortunately breakfast had a gas cut but the continental was nice. It was too late for me as had to leave early (0800 earliest on a Saturday) but partner said it was nice, Staff very friendly, room clean beds comfortable. Car park opposite adequate, part of drs surgery but they have permission to use one half of the slots

Breakfast served a little too late for work purposes but hotel aimed mostly at holidays coaches so forgivable

We were in the room 117 with not really a view. Comfortable beds, nice bathroom with bathtub, clean and fluffy towels was a bonus. Tea/coffee facilities. Looked like a newly renovated hotel. Location is right opposite the train station and with a free nearby parking. Nice walk to the city centre across the bridge. Highly recommend!

The full English Breakfast was in a small portion and the service was very slow probably from the shortage of staff. They did try their best though the last table was served before the two tables who were there before them and we didn't get our toasts at the end as they seemed to forget.
