Sam at check in was superb! Friendly, helpful and efficient. He sorted out a second room for us across the hall. A lovely welcome to the hotel from Sam! The bar and restaurant staff were also very friendly and helpful. Our rooms were very comfortable and well equipped. Our rooms were also ready before the 3pm check in time which was very convenient after an early morning flight.

I phoned reception to ask what time breakfast finished and was told 10:30 however when I got there just before 10 I was told it finished at 10 so I felt very rushed. There was chipped paint in the bathroom and the shower was difficult to operate. The water pressure was very low. A tv screen in the bar seating area showed an open fire, an actual electric or gas fire might be a nicer option as it was quite chilly in the bar and lobby area.

Second time staying at the hotel and the staff were very friendly and helpful to the point that my 7 year old daughter said to me " Dad do you know why I like this hotel, it's because the people are really nice". The rooms are good enough plenty of towels,tea and clean. The bar and restaurant and nice with plenty of options to eat at breakfast.

The main thing that stood out was the pool facilities, there's alot of wear and tear with plenty of noticable repairs that needs sorting , plus my daughters were looking forward to going in the jacuzzi and sauna like they did the year before with no problems but this time I was asked by staff to not let them use them. I'm no fool and I understand the risks of young children using saunas and jacuzzi's but it definitely leaves question mark whether or not I will be staying at the hotel again.

The lounge areas were lovely and quite luxurious for sitting and having a drink or a crossword in the evening. The swimming pool was quiet, easy to access and a nice addition. It was very close to bus stops which was very handy and there were a few shops and cafes within a few minutes walk. I really liked having two real beds rather than a sofa bed for the kids! The real star of the show was the staff - in particular Sam! He made us feel like VIPs! All of the staff were very attentive and polite. Anything we asked or needed, nothing was too much trouble for Sam!

It is VERY badly soundproofed, I could hear the guests in the room above using the toilet! Could hear guests in the corridors and in their rooms. Very frustrating for me. The window never seemed to fully close and suffered with very bad condensation and mould. It was quite shocking compared to the rest of the hotel! I found the beds very uncomfortable, the mattresses were thin and soft. Didn’t get a very good nights sleep either of the nights unfortunately. We didn’t try breakfast as at £16.95pp I felt it was far too much to justify.

The room was fantastic and clean, great facilities, nice touch with a couple bottles of water being in the fridge, plenty of choice for the tea and coffee making facilities, bed comfortable and nice touches with the dressing gown and slippers in the wardrobe which were available to wear. The temperature control in the room was a bit temperamental so it was quite warm at times, but thats probably because i didn't know what i was doing with the temperature control system. The staff were exceptional, reception, bar and serving staff all fantastic. Loved the welcome drink on arrival at reception never had that even in hotels that were more expensive. Food and drinks were good also. Never felt uncomfortable even though it was my first time staying in a hotel by myself, everyone was very friendly. Also very comfortable seating areas all around the hotel including in the bar area.

I went swimming. The thing that put me off in the spa area was how dirty the jacuzzi was inside. Apart from that swimming was good, sauna and steam room were good.

The only down side was I had disability badge and was still charge to park in disabled bays. And then the other been my daughter was looking forward to the sauna upon booking I did ask at the spa and reception at hotel who knew my daughters age and advised the times open instead of my daughter couldn’t use the sauna or jacuzzi which is the only reason we booked. We live 10 mins drive from the hotel and was a little treat for my daughter but overall we Enjoyed our stay and will be back again for sure. The house steak in the restaurant was cooked perfect and so tasty. My daughter gave our stay 10 out of 10 so that’s the same from me. While ever she’s happy so am I. Thankyou

The staff were all extremely friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble and made us feel very welcome. The restaurant service was great, we attended on New Year’s Eve so the hotel was busy but this had no impact at all on the service. Our daughter is 10 and she was made to feel very welcome and the staff were all friendly too her which made her feel special, some hotels make children feel like an inconvenience again nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely stay again. We had a great time.

The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the city centre and the weather was dreadful which I appreciate is not the hotels fault, however having to walk 10 minutes into the centre was a slight downfall. This won’t stop us from staying again though.

Visited the hotel as part of my birthday weekender with friends. Breakfast was very good - nice selection of hot and cold buffet, fruits, cereals and pastries. Good restuarant for lunch and dinner too. Restuarant staff, especially Gigie (front of house), were very kind and friendly. Swimming pool and gym were great, although showers ran out of bodywash and shampoo. Hotel is about 10 minutes walk away from station. Rooms are warm, well stocked and comfortable. Everything about the hotel was perfect for our stay.

We didn't like the half board situation which booking.com did not inform us prior to us booking half board. When we arrived for our evening meal we were advised that we had £90 to spend between our two meals, which didn't include drinks. If our meal came to £60 we could not roll the remainder of the money over to the next evening meal, we had to lose the £30 which was disgusting and really not acceptable to a lot of people. This definitely should not be allowed to happen. We decided to cancel the following night's meal reservation, unfortunately booking.com would not allow us to cancel our reservation. I would definitely not book a half board reservation again through booking.com.

Good sized room with great facilities including a fridge, an iron and a large flatscreen TV. Room was comfortable and quiet with a nice view from the window. Staff were friendly and helpful. Swimming pool was nice. Great bar and breakfast too.

Overall there wasn’t much to dislike. However the lockers in the changing rooms for the pool had this weird combination lock mechanism. Loads of people were getting their belongings locked in because it was too complicated and time consuming to figure out. Maybe something simple like a coin operated one would work better.

Lovely staff, on site parking, big comfy beds that felt like I was falling asleep on a cloud. Pool a real bonus and although it's more competitive temperature than leisure, it was beautiful to float here and let it soothe my aching bones whilst the sun streamed in through the huge windows. Breakfast was the usual Crowne Plaza standard of utterly wonderful with almost everything you could wish for to start the day. Their scrambled eggs are fantastic!

Two of our 3 rooms experienced internet issues which resulted in no TV and sketchy hotel wifi. I did go down to see reception but they simply apologised and agreed it was probably the internet. Too exhausted after a huge journey, I went back to the room and used my own data to watch YouTube on my phone.. I mentioned it again in the morning but no resolution offered. Not ideal but I didn't want to cause a fuss as the rooms were such a great price. It wouldn't put me off staying here again as everything else was top notch!
