Breakfast was simply incredible considering the price, staff were welcoming and helpful and the location provides so many options to make the most of this wonderful city. We needed to use an iron, simple quick request and done. Also there is a nice area in the basement to relax and pass the time after you have checked out which really helped us with our trip. Hope to stay here again. Thank you!

The rooms are not especially luxurious, but provide everything you need and are clean and quiet. Honestly, what's not to like? The price is fantastic and there are hotels nearby that charge more than double for practically the same experience plus perhaps just a little extra luxury. Save your money and enjoy yourself.

The room was clean and comfortable with a very nice en-suite bathroom including a powerful and accessible shower. The hotel is in a very good location with excellent transport links outside. Breakfast is included with no extra charge. Most of the staff were helpful.

One of the elevators was out of service for the entire stay and the only other elevator was often crowded and slow. There could have been more hot options at breakfast. There was a problem with noise outside. There are good bus links, but no nearby tram stop.

The location and value for money were very good and the staff were very friendly and accommodating.

The breakfast wasn’t the best but for the money it was very acceptable, the bread had to be put through the machine several times before it became toast! We have grown accustomed to having a king size bed but again this wasn’t the end of the world, double is fine, although it was exceptionally soft. We couldn’t sort out the ventilation system, I felt cold but it seemed to continue to blow out cold air when we tried to adjust it. We wondered if this was an ongoing issue because there was a small electric radiator in the room which we left on to try and take the chill out of the air, it was a cold night. That was the only issue which I think isn’t related to value and was a bit disappointing.

it's very clean, the reception is down stairs rather than when you enter which is a tad odd but the staff are friendly, the breakfast was nice and plentiful, the room i got was spacious and the bed was comfy, where it is located is excellent but Manchester city centre is like a warren so could initially be hard to find

that there is a box next to the door where you had to put your card key in for the lights to work which no one said about, once i asked it was explained nice and politely but that was my only niggle

It's very well situated. The room was a good size. The TV and WiFi were good, the teamaking facilities and the bathroom were also good.

The bed wasn't very comfortable we found it too narrow and my wife was disturbed every time I turned over. I noticed reading other people's reviews that one of the lifts wasn't working which was also the case while we were there is it permanently out of order? The choice of breakfast goods was also lacking and I didn't like the coffee from your coffee machine. The windows in our room could also have done with a clean

Great location if you visiting the university. You can easily walk to both the university and the city centre. The breakfast was delicious, and its variety was good. The rooms are very clean.

The WiFi was very bad in the room. However, you can go to the lobby and make your calls.

Was good . Better than expected . It was a crowded at busy times but we managed ok . It was great that there was not drinks available all day

Now this is what let the hotel down and would make me think about staying again . There was no heating anywhere in the hotel . This is not good when it's the middle of December . We mentioned it to the reception and she said she would reset it ,she never did . Our friends who had another room had a electric radiator which was there when we checked in .when we checked out I told the reception that we felt let down as we were lied to about getting the heating reset . She apologised and said she would look into it . This let the hotel down .

The later check in was handy as we had travelled from Liverpool after the Eurovision Show so didn't arrive until nearly midnight. The rooms were clean with comfortable beds. The bathroom and shower were spacious The breakfast was simple but perfectly adequate with a choice of continental or English. The hotel is a no frills place to lay your head and is very central. Some of the previous reviews concerned me a little so I was pleasantly surprised by how wrong the were? We would stay here again.

The staff were so lovely and let us store our luggage in a secure room as we arrive earlier than expected. The room was gorgeous and cosy, with a great view from the window. It was super clean and the bathroom was so nice. Even though trains were going past right outside, you couldn't hear them at all. The only thing that made me sad was that I was only staying for one night!

Everything was great. A vending machine would have been a nice touch, but with so many great shops nearby, it wasn't really missed. I also misread a sign in the lift and thought breakfast was on until 10:30, so I had a lie-in, but I missed it because it ended at 9:30. But that's my fault.

Facilities were as described, clean towels and bedding daily, very comfortable pillows and an acceptable breakfast thrown in. Easily accessible, good central location, professional pleasant staff. Overall I enjoyed my stay in Manchester at Holiday Inn Express Manchester City.

A bit stuffy, and an initial bad smell from the drain. Windows that could open would solve the issue. More egg choices for breakfast would be nice too.
