Hotel Indigo is located in the city center of Manchester next to Victoria station with a direct connection from and to Manchester Airport and transport links to other parts of the city as well. The central location is very convenient and great for the main purpose of our trip to do sightseeing, visit museums (which are all free) and do some shopping. Manchester Arndale, Barton Arcade and Market Street are just around the corner. Attractions like National Football Museum, Exchange Square and Chetham Library are nearby. Also recommended is to visit The Northern Quarter, which is on walking distance and is a great place with creative street art, restaurants, food hall Mackie Mayor, bars and independent shops (like the Manchester Craft & Design Centre). Must visit attractions are in our opinion Manchester Art Gallery, IWM North, Castle Field Viaduct and John Rylands library (Harry Potter Hogwarts). A budget friendly tip make use of the free bus service to travel around the city center, the bus stop is in front of the hotel. The Victorian building of the hotel has great architecture combining old and new with an industrial feeling. We stayed in a Standard Room, which was clean, spacious, with comfy beds and furnished in an elegant cozy boutique style. The complimentary bottles of water, tea, biscuits and a working aircon are other points to highlight regarding the room. Breakfast menu was complete and offers enough options and variety to start your day regardless of your diet (calories info is very handy). The staff especially at Mamacium were really friendly and welcoming. Overall I think the hotel offers everything you need for a comfortable stay in Manchester and perfect to explore this vibrant city with a fascinating history and cultural scene from a central location.

Location by a lovely old train station, free city bus stop outside, tastefully refurbished building with original features and interesting decor, warm and friendly staff, excellent breakfast and comfy beds.We ate in the restaurant and the meal was delicious, staff helpful and professional, reasonably priced. Nice views from the room of old clock and skyline.
The building is subtly repurposed and the name not easy to spot. The restaurant name is on frosted windows but we didn't connect that initially and we found ourselves circling before finding the entrance. There was nothing I could fault once we got there. A top class experience!

They kindly updated us from the basic room to the king size (we literally had to roll twice to meet ourselves in the bed) with city view for free. Abundant breakfast with large choice of savoury & sweet. We slept one night at this hotel and since we had to come back for 3 more nights in Manchester after a week, we decided to book there again.. well they updated our room again giving us the same room from the week before!
We had to physically remove the keycard every night to avoid the A/C unit noise.. that still made a little noise even without any electricity. Maybe a small choice of foreign channels on the tv wouldn't have been a bad thing even just one channel!

Absolutely fabulous stay. Comfortable, well equipped and clean room, and the ideal location for Victoria train station (we were staying two nights around our day trip to Edinburgh on the Northern Belle) The main attraction for us was the superb service we received both at dinner and at breakfast, each and every staff member we encountered in the bar/restaurant were just superb. As a national and international business awards judge and business owner I observe and critique hundreds of businesses from all industries each year, and it was an absolute delight to see how much time is clearly invested in establishing a happy team of brand ambassadors at this hotel. Each and every individual we encountered without exception were genuine in their approach and extremely knowledgeable, courteous and professional. I did take a note of a number of names which I have sadly misplaced, however on reflection I would like to congratulate the whole team and the bar and restaurant manager for making our stay a great one. Keep doing what you are doing guys, its absolutely brilliant.

An excellent location, with Victoria station and the MEN arena literally on the doorstep. Although only a short walk into town there was very little noise from that you might expect of a large city. The reception staff were very professional and despite a small queue of guests waiting to book in, chose to take their time with the guest they were dealing with to make sure they had answered all of their questions fully. I personally appreciate this approach as it gives a personal feel to things. We booked an approximate time for breakfast when we first arrived and I have to say breakfast was simply outstanding, good quality food, well cooked and well presented. The catering team had a very positive ‘can do’ attitude and were attentive, without being intrusive.
The price per night is not cheap but you get what you pay for and this hotel does not disappoint. I understand the merits of a central booking system but dislike it when the phone number is given as a local number and the staff in the central system have no ideal of the local hotel or area.

Room was very big with lots of space. Lovely couch. The headboard and tea cups above was pure delight. TV size huge if you watch tv during travels. Relatively quite room with outside noise. Very well designed and the furniture is of high quality. The bathroom and shower is beautiful and well equipped. The blue tiles are stunning! The built-in iron and iron board was great to use.
The cupboard space was a little small. They did not refill our complimentary water in fridge the second day. The reception staff were very unfriendly. No smiles and always looked like they are overworked.

quite a few steps to the entrance which is a bit awkward if you are frail like my husband room itself was nice sound proofed comfy bed. thing they are a bit stingy in how much tea and milk they give you in the room for the price your paying. night staff were friendly and helpful staff in the morning were not as nice and it was chaotic in reception. overall it’s in a handy place for Victoria station.
need to put more milk etc in room when your paying over £100 you expect to beable to make at least two orc3 cups of tea. also only enough towels left for one person

The hotel facilities, i.e. room, bar, restaurant were fabulous. The welcome we received from the staff was absolutely fantastic, especially Sahar who greeted us and checked us in. Her friendliness, professionalism and attentiveness is second to none. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff throughout our stay. Breakfast was delicious and the service was excellent, especially the friendliness of Leah, making us feel very special. We are already looking forward to staying at Th Hotel Indigo again in the future and will definitely recommend to all our friends. The staff are a credit to The Hotel Indigo everyone of them, what lovely people. Mark and Christine Goodwin.

All of the staff are approachable, friendly and professional. Location is excellent for trains, shopping and AO arena Breakfast was lovely, well cooked and very tasty and the waiting staff were wonderful very friendly and helpful
Mini bar was empty with the exception of two bottles of water We could not have room service. We were told they were short staffed and we would be better ordering food via just eat, so we went out to find local restaurants or fast food venue open. It was after a show and hadn't had the opportunity to eat beforehand We were in a standard king room there were no cotton wool pads or face cloth in the bathroom. So don't forget to bring your own.

Very good room with great view. Enormous bed. Relaxed lighting. Fantastic bathroom if a little cramped (open the door and the toilet is directly in front of the door but vast rainforest shower compensates. The room had an iron (not always a given). Hotel staff were very attentive.
The light bright restaurant/bar was a little unimaginative and a little overcrowded with seating. Simple, 'in the detail' changes, would help enormously like table centres to enhance the bland wooden tables. Walking from the hotel onto dirty, littered streets was not a great look for such a higher-quality hotel. The hotel might want to consider keeping their own stretch clean, though I appreciate this might be a never-ending task given it is close to the railway station.
