We found it as a base to walk in GlenCoe, aiming for Buachaille Etive Mor but others could have been closer but others were too expensive or booked up. I found I could have a continental breakfast and a cooked breakfast that suited to my restricted diet - I refused meat and eggs for 70 years which was often awkward. A veggie cooked meal without meat or eggs, pastries and cereals with fruit available. An evening meal from the hotel wasn't available but they permitted us to order delivered food and use their dining facilities. Simple.

Only woken too early by a false fire alarm - but the problem was quickly and efficiently dealt with - almost immediately tod us very quickly that it was a false alarm. The location could have been indicated the position of the hotel more clearly, with more obvious signage.

The breakfast was delicious, bed very comfy. Staff very accommodating, the lovely touch that the cleaners did was setting up my daughters pillow, teddy & eyemask up on the bed.

The windows in room 10 particularly in the bathroom didn't shut properly & it was very draughty which made the room very cold, I had to shut the curtains to keep the draughts out. The staff gave us a heater which made a big difference but the windows really need looking at there was a big gap at the top right of the bathroom window when it was closed. I wouldn't usually bother but it was very stormy & raining on this afternoon.

The location is stunning with great views. The weather was a massive advantage admitedly, the sun was shining and it was nice and warm. Our room was large and comfortable and the bed was really comfortable. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and it's clear how much they want to make sure people want to enjoy their stay. Good bar service with a nice range of drinks. The restaurant was quite busy for dinner but it was all managed really well. The menu was varied and good, and the food was absolutely excellent. Defintely worth a visit even if just for a meal.

I have to say that I'd struggle to find anything that I didn't like - one minor point is that I felt the shower cubicle in our room was quite small, so difficult for a bulky person to navigate - just something to be aware of though - it in no way spoiled the visit which was realy lovely.

A handy location and a lovely view from yhe dining room. The young staff in the evening were good and trying hard, we were asked to open our own wine as the person serving admitted she had failed miserably. We didn't mind at all and suggested she bring a few more bottles so we could do some training. 😀 Seriously though we know how hard it is to recruit service sector staff in Scotland post Brexit and we really appreciated the kind nature and hard work of the young people serving us.

The beds were very hard. For some reason the chef ground a lot of salt over my cooked breakfast thus spoiling it. Without tweezers it's impossible to pick lumps of salt crystals out of the underside of a breakfast mushroom!

Splendid warm welcome as soon as you entered hotel , and the staff were 1st class, beautiful views and hotel stunning loved the tartan rug that runs through out the whole hotel , AND MARTIN THE GARDENER VERY ENTERTAINING. STAFF TRAINING EXCELLENT /MANNERLY/PRIDE IN THERE DUTIES. WE WILL CERTAINLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND LOCHNELL ARMS AND RETURN IF IN THIS AREA. GREAT LOCATION FOR SAILS FROM OBAN AND TRAIN TO MALLAIG FROM FORT WILLIAM . AND NOT A MIDGIE TO BE SEEN ""NONE YET SO FAR THIS YEAR "" THANK TO ALL

HAVING TO MOVE ON

We were greeted on arrival like old pals by the gentleman on the desk & he was absolutely outstanding during our stay. Looked after us in a way that being perfectly honest, none of the 3 of us had experienced at a hotel before! When we enquired whether it would be okay to play some board games by the bar in the evening he told us "Of course! This is your home while you are here!" which my elderly mother thought was such a kind thing to say He was so polite, knowledgeable about the local area, friendly, professional & nothing was too much trouble. If you asked him for anything at all, you felt as if it appeared before you'd finished your sentence. The decor in the hotel is very nice after it's recent refurb & the cleanliness was outstanding! It's not an exaggeration to say you'd struggle to find a speck of dust anywhere The food at dinner was absolutely wonderful. Freshly cooked & delicious. The view over the loch is beautiful & easily seen from the conservatory style dining room Breakfast which was included in the price, was equally lovely with a huge selection to choose from. The lady working in the morning was just as attentive & friendly To sum up, I'd say that anything that the staff have control over in the hotel is obviously done with genuine care & love. The hotel are lucky to have them as they're an absolute credit The bed sheets were pristine & beautifully ironed in both our rooms. The towels were soft & fluffy. The room kettle & tea/coffee facilities were clean & full. Both rooms & en suite bathrooms were spotless If we are ever in the area again for a stay we will definitely head back there Thank you so much to the staff again for making our wee stay so lovely & relaxing

Am loathed to say anything bad, but in the interest of honesty, the shower tray was quite slippy & mats would be an advantage. In one of our rooms there was no plug for the television & the extension cord provided was too short to reach both the socket & the TV. As I say, the hotel had only JUST reopened. We looked at these issues as small oversights due to this & nothing more.

Lovely views over the loch and only a 10 min drive from Oban. Comfy bed and very quiet at night. Good pub food in the restaurant, good choices for breakfast.

Rooms not sound-proofed, but by 10pm all quiet so not too much of an issue. Room hadn’t been properly cleaned on our second day (towels left in a heap on the floor, bins not emptied, cups not washed, coffee supplies not replenished; however, very apologetic when it was pointed out and quick to react. Toilet/shower room was a bit cramped.

Very easy to find, great location for our plans, very comfortable and friendly staff. Breakfast was wonderful, full of flavor, held us until dinner. GREAT, to go to Scotland ,and for 15 days, your hotel was actually 1 of only three hotels we stayed at that were owned and run and staffed by Scott's. All else felt as though we were in India,and their attitude towards guests , "ALL ABOUT THE MONEY" Sad to see your country,slipping Away,culturally. Won't be back.

The weather, Ha ha, but was out of the hotel's control!

A very nice welcome at reception and all the staff we met were warm and friendly. The breakfast and evening meal were very well cooked and presented. The bar meals being good value for money. A lovely view from the eating and bar area. We would definitely stay again.

The entry to the Hotel could be better signposted. The building looks a little run down and the reception area and hallway would benefit from upgrading. The rooms are small but everything worked well and the beds comfortable.

Spotlessly clean and lovely breakfast! About a 10 min drive from Oban town centre but a lovely peaceful and very beautiful setting overlooking the loch. …and you have to cross a really cool bridge to go back and forth if driving. Room was freshened every day and staff were super nice. Our room was lovely and cosy and very comforting to come back to after our days out. It had a decent kettle and hair dryer in room and lovely fresh fluffy white towels! Would’ve given 5 stars if we’d had a better view from our room. But that said, couldn’t fault it otherwise and the view of the loch is beautiful from the breakfast lounge.

Only downside for us personally was that our twin room didn’t have much of a view of anything at all, (except the house next door) but I did notice other rooms had an incredible view of the loch.
