Location was very good, right on the harbor so you could watch the boats and ferries come and go. Our room was very quiet but my sisters' room was over the pub which had live bands Friday and Saturday nights. They had warned us ahead of time and my younger sister said it was good music. Second night she used ear plugs which the guest house provided. The staff were very friendly. The Guest House had large communal kitchens, one in each section, fully equipped and stocked with eggs, bread, butter cereals and more with an honor payment box. Everything was clean, especially the tartan carpet on the stairs. Really nice town with lots of good fish restaurants.

The room was very comfortable. it was a bit cold when we arrived and I wasn't sure how to control the heater. The kitchen area would have been good if we had been staying for more than one night. It closed at 10pm a bit early if you wanted a night time drink. I would have preferred a kettle in our room. We brought one with us. It said there would be kettles in the kitchen that we could use but didn't see any. Good shower, great towels and we had been given a room away from the live music in the pub which was great. Didn't hear a thing. There was no bulb in the bedside light so we asked if we could have one. As the bar staff were responsible for everything this didn't happen. We said if they gave us a light bulb we would put it in ourselves but though we were promised one it never happened. We enjoyed our meal in the bar the wine at £7 a glass was a bit too pricey. We spent an hour in the bar from 10-11pm which was entertaining. Their staff are brilliant work really hard. would stay again if I was back.
Finding our way in was a bit confusing. The bar staff were rushed off their feet and having them to take new arrivals to their rooms was a bit much. I was puzzled that we got one key for the outside door and our room. Does this mean that everyone has a key that opens all the rooms? hard to tell as the outside door was always open. Code for the inner door. The kitchen area is a great idea but 10pm closing is too early for people who might want a hot drink when they come in after 10. Overall we enjoyed our stay. Good price for a Saturday night. No hot water in the en suite wash basin though the shower was good.

Convenient for the ferries, trains, buses and shops and very easy to find. The staff were friendly and helpful. The shared facilities in the kitchen and lounge were very good, our bedroom was big, comfortable and quiet and the whole place was spotlessly clean. The bar beneath the accommodation was one of the best in town, and, even with live music we remained undisturbed in our room.
There are a few stairs which could be awkward for some people but as a sprightly 62 year old we had no problems, and the staff did offer to assist if needed.

- The room (& the rest of the house) was very clean and well-presented when I walked in - The room was spacious with great view, and toilet / bathroom facilities were handy even if shared with another room - The house has an excellent location on Oban's promenade, max 10 mins walk from the ideal centre of town, with great sea views and next to a bus stop for further exploration of the area - Well-equipped shared kitchen - Lovely lounge with original Victorian features - Staff were really attentive and polite
- Nothing of significance, the live music at Markie Dans didn't personally affect me but one to consider if staying Fri/Sat/Sun

Corran House was a great place to stay. Could not fault the cleanliness and the facilities for a hostel type accommodation. The kitchen was fully stocked and also had breakfast supplies which was an honesty system, so good. We had a four bed room and it was very comfortable especially for the same family. Lovely sitting room to read or play supplied board games. Short walk to the centre, bus, rail and ferry. Markie Dans pub was good for a beer and food was pretty good too. There was music throughout the night but we were advised numerous times by the property and they also supplied earplugs. No problem at all.
Great stay!

Great place to stay and are actually doing make overs on rooms which in Oban is refreshing.
As messaged. I stayed in room 34. The second I turned the shower setting to high heat it tripped the room electric. As a maintenance electrician, I would suspect this was a known fault as most electric showers are set at high. This was disappointing as I had stayed in room 4 two nights previous which was faultless. I commend that the rooms are being overhauled and it is a good place to stay. I’ve not been put off staying here, just disappointing that a great experience was finished off with a bit of disappointment. Overall still a great place to stay if the price is right for offshore travellers.

It was perfect for a family one night stay with kids before getting the early ferry from Oban to the Inner Hebrides the next morning. The only downside was that the bathroom was shared with other guests but really that was not a problem in the slightest. The bathroom was very nice and easily accessible just down the hall. The room was very comfortable and spacious for all of us (we were four).
Nothing. It was great. No faults. Perhaps it would have been good to know we needed to book a table in advance to eat in the restaurant. We had to search far and wide to get dinner in Oban that night!

I cannot speak for all rooms but I have stayed in a twin room (not above the pub) and it was absolutely fantastic! It was newly renovated, well designed, warm and very clean. The shower is great, excellent water pressure. There is a tropical shower and a regular one. Big sink and one tap (something you don't always get in Scotland!). The facilities offer a spacious kitchen with a wide selection of utensils and kitchenware and basic necessities like tea, coffee, sugar, cocoa, sauces and oils. You can buy stuff too, like cereals, bread, eggs, yogurt, jam, milk etc. The staff is usually in the pub so you are left all to yourself. Checking in and out is extremely simple. But do check your mail before coming to the guest house as it will have all the information you need to check in. Housekeeping staff are incredibly helpful and nice. A special thanks to all the girls, they have made my stay much more pleasant :)
Some members of the staff don't say hello even if you say hello to them, which is rather rude since it is a hotel. But that only applies to pib/hotel staff. The housekeeping staff are absolutely wonderful. Also some people might find the music from the pub on Fridays and Saturdays a bit too loud. There are earplugs available in abundance at reception though.

Rooms were spacious and spotlessly clean. Parking possible 18.00 to 09.00 in close by public car park shower room is a good size. The hand held shower head was not functioning properly but the larger overhead element was fine. Good soaps and towels, complimentary biscuits on arrival Towels good size. The communal self-serve breakfast room is very well organised and there is a wide choice of produce to buy, tea and coffee is complementary Staff were very friendly.
Problem with shower head, but that can happen anywhere.

This hotel on the esplanade was well placed for teh shops in Oban and the Cathedral. The hotel was comfortable with convenient parking outside after 6 pm, which was when we arrived, while self-contained with a communal kitchen, it was over a pub which served reasonably priced dinners and drinkable beer and had a friendly and lively atmosphere- plenty of young people but we oldies also felt welcome. We had pre-paid so were able to leave easily at the 4 am we needed to set out at to catch our last-minute-redirected ferry.
I was disappointed that I was not allowed to take a cup of tea from the communal kitchen to our room to drink.
