We liked staying by the outdoor pool, taking a timely walk down to the beach where we done a bit of shopping, lots of bars there and pubs, oh and a skeleton sitting outside one shop, this tickled us a bit. And made us laugh. The fish chip shop opposite the arcade bus stop sells tasty food, and the Captains table has a tasty pint, we liked this pub best cos it's got lots of room outside, which suited us. The room was clean and the stay was relaxing lots of tea and coffee, it's a place where you can relax and have a pleasant view of the beach. Bus service is good, trips into various places such as Tenby are easy to make, open top bus is best. Leave the car at Merlewood and have a day out because parking at Merlewood is free.

There's a short uphill walk. My wife struggled a bit with this , but what do you expect, I am 70, and she is 64. Don't be afraid of the hill she beat it in the end. Or there's a taxi.

Breakfast was nice, although not included and had to pay extra. Staff were nice, friendly and happy to help. Pool looked lovely although we didn’t go in as middle of September. Views from hotel very nice. Location for us was just right, hotel just up on the hill outside the main hustle and bustle (noise) so you could get a good nights sleep

Tv in room was very small. bedroom window Glass old fashioned with safety grid lines running through which spoilt the sea view and pool. Bathroom could do with a bit of modernising.

Pauline, Ben, and the lady who serviced the rooms were exceptional! Pauline is such a gentle lady. Nothing is too much trouble for any of these people. I took a fishing trip and they offered to gut my catch and store them in the freezer for me. ♥️ I was staying just 2 nights, ended up staying 3 nights, and even then I was reluctant to leave. I'll definitely take a dip in the pool next time I visit!

With a view of the sea from my room ♥️ seagulls were awake early. That's nature though. Just take your ear plugs!

We were delighted with our stay at the Merlewood Hotel. Everything was super clean, the shower was hot and powerful, tea and coffee facilities were provided, loved the pool and each member of staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The hotel also had a nostalgic ambience, which I loved. The location was superb and a wonderful surprise to us. It was a short pleasant stroll into the town and the views en route were stunning. We will definitely be returning!

It was all perfect. Thank you.

I visited with my partner to celebrate his birthday. We had a lovely time in Saundersfoot, the room was clean and the hotel was very conveniently located. Our room was very clean and the bathroom was very nice - loved the pressure in the shower!

For a short-sighted person like me, the TV in the room was quite small so it was a bit uncomfortable (but it's not that I was going to Pembrokeshire to watch telly anyway). If you go there on a romantic getaway, the headboard in the bed was a bit loose...

The facilities are fine, the pool is a bonus. Having parking is also a bonus,

I stayed in what I'm sure is an accessible room; ground floor, raised toilet, walk in shower which is very commendable but some people with mobility issues also have to be back at their room fairly early for comfort and the television is no good at all too small not visible from the bed. The tea/coffee tray; don't know if it's actually the goods or the water but I couldn't drink either coffee or tea awful.

Fabulous location within ten minutes walk into Saundersfoot, 5 there,10 back (up the hill). Staff that are so welcoming (Russell), and can’t do enough for you. Breakfast was delicious (poached eggs asked for on request on day two and then the days after I was asked if I would like them. Chef and waitresses were all lovely. It’s the little things that matter and they were great at that… asked for fat free yogurt and they appeared on the second day. The pool although not heated was wonderfully bracing and once in it was fine and so clean. We ate in the hotel one evening and the food was served by a lovely young lad. A great table overlooking the pool and the beach view in the distance. Our ground floor room was easily accessible and had twin beds with overhead reading lights. I felt the room was missing a table lamp and a bedside cabinet to pop your water/coffee/book/phone etc on (this is not a moan just constructive feedback) as the room was lovely with comfy beds and a great wet room. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and for a 2* rated hotel we felt you were worth more! We would definitely recommend and if ever we holiday in Saundersfoot again we will be staying here. Thankyou to all the staff you made our stay a most enjoyable one x

Wonderful views from our room and the bar area over swimming pool to a full vista of Saundersfoot and the bay. Pleasant looking hotel, friendly greeting on arrival very welcoming man on the desk. Great breakfast exceptionally well cooked and presented with excellent friendly staff. Lovely spacious dining area with white and navy blue tablecloths and comfortable chairs. Great evening meal available to book on certain nights at around £16.

Room was a fair size and everything was clean with fresh white linen but they do need an a refresh and sadly the bathroom was very dated. A little maintenance needed as the door didn't shut and the TV was tiny. If you can overlook this it's still a lovely place to be staying .

We need to remember a small double is very SMALL, it would have been OK without the big double wardrobe and random shelves. Room and bed were comfortable, such a shame about the cobwebs. Sorry we didn't pay for a bigger room with a Seaview as our room view was the back of the hotel which looked at not much. TV on the room was TINY but it had free view. Bathroom was BIG with walk in shower which was fantastic, plenty of hot water. Breakfast was nice, would have preferred to have been able to make our own tea, coffee and toast. You could help yourself to yoghurt, and cereal, everything else was ordered through the waitress who was really smiley and cheerful, nothing was too much trouble. Food arrived boiling hot and was lovely. We didn't use the pool but the whole area looked spotlessly clean and really quiet. The beach and harbour are about a 10 minute walk downhill, the hill back up is steep but.. I'm asthmatic and not very fit but managed it OK. The hotel is nice, with a few changes it could be a little goldmine. It is well loved and cared for but the brown sapele door and chopped plastic pretend wood window sills reminded me of my family home when I was little.. 50+ years ago.

Staff polite professional helpful. Lovely breakfast. Pool delightful. Nice light function room bar over looking the pool. Room overlooked the pool beach.

Slightly dated hotel. A unused smell in room and function room. Maybe some fresheners needed. A disturbance below us on the sat night which was extremely frightening. A couple returned to their room playing loud music. When asked to turn down the man was extremely threatening and very aggressive. The member of staff an older lady dealt with the situation exceptionally well however she was alone until the police arrived and dealt with the matter. My partner was very shaken by the incident and wanted to leave the hotel .
