very welcoming and accommodating hosts, especially my request to provide safe storage for my bike. Each night it was magic'd away, and each morning Hans would bring it back for me. Lovely special touches like home made cake, coffee bags rather than instant, bathrobes etc Great breakfasts. And the gorgeous Dougal! (a wonderful labradoodle)

Nothing really, if pushed I'd say my neighbouring guests would play their TV very loudly at night, but that's down to behavior of particular guests which isn't in control of the hosts. And I could have asked them to turn it down but couldn't be bothered to get out of bed, so can't have been that bad

The overall stay was excellent. Hans-Jurgen is an excellent host, very friendly and happy to help with any enquiries. The room and property in general is excellently presented and clean with a lovely garden which you can make use of.. Communication was also very good and arrangements were made for us to access the property even though our host was unavailable to greet us. Parking is also not an issue. Breakfast options are available and are all very good. It was also lovely to find homemade cakes in our room on arrival and we particularly liked the provided mini bar and snacks where all items were very reasonably priced. Many thanks to Hans-Jurgen and Claire. If only all B&B accommodation was this good :-)

Nothing at all.

A lovely welcome. Room, bathroom very clean. Nice that you can open the window to allow fresh air in especially as the room was nice and warm. Although not a full view of the garden from my window the sounds of the birds was very relaxing. You have the standard coffee, tea selection you even have in my case a small cupcake and a slice of lemon drizzle cake to welcome you. I was especially pleased not just that you have a fridge in your room but it is stocked. The items in the fridge are NOT free but the price guide is more than reasonable. I don't think this is a way for the hosts to make money its just for the convenience of the guest so if you have an attack of the munchies or want a glass of wine instead of going out you can just buy it here. I can't remember the price of the wine but since the crisps and chocolate were standard shop prices I can assume its the same for the wine. I enjoyed my breakfast and one day had cream of mushroom on brioche which was very nice indeed. Usual items, full English, cereals, fruit etc. A nice relaxed dining room as well. Free internet which is a must nowadays. The garden is lovely, I didn't see any seats out there but we do have full access and I'm sure seats can be provided. For once a nice sitting area for guests inside. Location is perfect.

Ugiebrae House was a very pleasant B&B and our family of five enjoyed our stay in three of the rooms. The rooms were very clean and tastefully decorated. Room provisions and facilities were good and this included a good shower, tea and coffee, strong wifi and a TV that was easy to view. Breakfast in the conservatory was very good - there was lots of choice and our English cooked breakfasts was very tasty. Our host was friendly and informative throughout our stay and our (grown-up) children loved the dog, Dougal.

Our bed quilt was rather thick and too warm - a lighter quilt available for summer months would have been helpful. The water pressure was too low to run an adequate bath.

The whole experience! Hans was very welcoming and helpful. The room was immaculate and had everything you could wish for, including beautiful cakes to welcome us. There was real milk in the fridge, Wine, water, soft drinks and chocolate were provided for a cost...very convenient. Beautiful view of the lovely garden from our room and exceptionally quiet. And the breakfasts...fantastic!!!! Best poached and scrambled eggs ever! Lovely toast and coissants, fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereals etc. All served promptly and with lovely pots of butter, jam and marmalade . We can't wait for our next visit. Thank you !

Leaving! 😪😪

Hans and Claire are terrific hosts. Easy distance to the town. Lovely room with very comfortable bed. Rolltop bath and walking shower, plenty of hot water. For us it was all the little extras that made it special. Fridge. Little cakes and biscuits in your room on arrival. Shower gel, cotton buds, soap, magnifying mirror, shoe horn sewing kit, iron and ironing board, hair dryer and a safe to name but a few. TV with DVD player and DVD's. It will be very hard to go home. Breakfast was first class We will be back.

Nothing, it was perfect.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Ugiebrae House. Our room was lovely and well equipped with some nice extra touches like homemade cakes to welcome us, bathrobes and slippers, toiletries, and fresh mik in the fridge which was replenished as required. The breakfasts were delicious with a good selection and well cooked and served in a very nice breakfast room. Hans was an excellent host, friendly and courteous and very knowledgeable about the local area.

There really wasn’t anything that we didn’t like!

What should i start with.. clean room and having everything we needed. Perhaps a double bed preferred instead of a twin next to each other, but for one night was not an issue at all. Thats me being picky… On the contrary even though an B&B felt more like i’ve stayed in a hotel … However, the most remarkable staying here, was Hans ! What a host, i believe its Hans that makes the place. Keep it up and defo recommend to anyone visiting Bamburgh castle (only a 10/15 drive).

N/a.. not deserving to write anything unless picky..

The Ugiebrae House has everything you need for a comfortable break. The facilities are excellent. The room and bathroom we stayed in were very spacious. There is attention to detail that certainly enhance the stay. There was a wide choice for breakfast which was delicious with good quality ingredients. The host was very professional and friendly with lots of tips to help us get the most out of our stay using his extensive local knowledge. We would certainly stay again.

Nothing. It was spot on.

The host was very welcoming and supportive, always remaining the man hé undoubtly is, full of useful information and willingness to share it, with an ironic sense of humour and the experience he has built up during his professional years in the hospitality sector. The breakfast was outstanding too (as well as the singing of the birds in the garden - we were sleeping at the back of the house). The rooms were very comfortable (with a welcome tray with fres cake).

Nothing!
