Sunshine Meadows is the hidden gem of Canadian rockies and this hotel is located just next to it at the altitude of 2,200 metres (7,200 feet). And as I kow it is the only mountain hotel in Banff region. Rooms are a bit bigger than they appeared in the photos. They are clean, quiet and couzy. Wifi is good but unsecured. There is plenty of space for two adults in the room. Our room was with forest (north) view and we had no issues with temperature even in hot days. Despite Sunshine Village is a ski resort there is a lot to do in off-season and there are plenty didnig options available. To get to the hotel you have to take a 15-min gondola ride or use a hotel shuttle and we had no issues with that. Banff is in 15 min ride from the gondola base and Lake Louise and Moraine lake are in 40 min ride distance. Highly recommend.

The buffet breakfast is too expensive for the meager selection of food offered.

Location was fantastic, loved the waterfall view, loved the gondola experience, wonderful and helpful staff, the hot tub was a bonus, my husband loved it. The food....we had supper in the dining room (not the upper section) on our first night, it was not appealing to taste at all. The assorted breads we chose were all hard and cold, the whipped butter was also hard, we couldn't get it to spread on the bread so that turned me off a lot. Then came the main meal, I ordered grilled salmon which looked like charcoal on my plate. My husband's lamb chop wasn't bad but overall the supper was tasteless. We dined out in town after that for all our meals except when we got "peckish" and visited Tappers (another restaurant on site that serves food from 11am to 11pm).. Their food was good. Overall it was a lovely experience, and we'll definitely be staying there in the future

The room was nice and clean, with an amazing view of the mountain and forest. We absolutely loved the location: of course, it is remote, but an opportunity to wake up and immediately be on the slopes the first thing in the morning could not be beaten. The level of service, and friendliness of the staff are amazing - they were always going an extra mile to help us with our questions: be it something simple or convoluted (we had to use Friends and Family discount of Icon Pass for the chair lift, which turned out to be a convoluted procedure, but everybody was willing to spend more time and figure out the solution for us). "Chimney Corner" restaurant is also excellent - both for quality of food and the service.

I wish the rooms had a small fridge - this would be useful for having a quick breakfast before hitting the slopes. Also, the "upscaled" restaurant "Eagle's Nest" didn't live up to our expectations.

The room service and daily cleaning was good. The people working there were mostly young and helpful. Nice fresh air in August, no need for AC. The fireplace at the lobby leaves a very nice first impression, the kids loved the evenings S'mores, and the hot tub was a great place to relax! Riding the Gondola and the lifts every day was a great adventure with nice views!

There is no AC in the room, if the weather is warm that would be a problem. There is no minibar or fridge in the room, no fan in the bathroom and no safety box. These are essential in any hotel that is listed as 'luxury'. All these were not a big issue for us, but it would have been good to have it. The restaurant is offering good food, at a 4-5 star level prices.

- Atmosphere was wonderful, everyone was extremely friendly at the lodge. - there are lifts right outside the lodge where you can take and head straight to the mountains. - outdoor hot tub opens for a long period of time, the view from there is scenic with squirrels running around. - unlimited gondola rides - a few restaurant options to choose from - smores provided at night - there is a very big and cozy family room on the G/F - the lodge provides Nintendo switch and board games for guests.

- it's a little far away from downtown, 20-30 mins ride. - if you miss the gondola (ends at 6pm) then you will need to wait at the base. The staff will drive you up the mountain and to the lodge.

The location is fabulous, alpine meadow walks on your doorstep with incredible Mountain View’s. The Staff are all very helpful & friendly. Food at Chimney Corner is expensive but excellent quality, both the breakfast & the evening meals were great.

It’s well used & some guests are very noisy. The chairlift is right outside the hotel & starts up at 7am, but also hums constantly through the night. If the Gondola isn’t running then you have an uncomfortable transfer to the hotel on a cramped shuttle up the gravel service road. You’re a captive audience & there’s only 3 places open in summer to eat in.

The lodge is beautifully located and on the side of a mountain. Marvelously constructed with wood beams throughout, A good restaurant inside, with a pub outside. We took the ride further up the mountain in the am, to trails and spectacular viewpoints. The room was very clean, and comfortable and the spa at the lodge was amazing and huge. There was also a nice sauna. The staff were very friendly. It was fun taking the gondola to and from our car, parked below.

I don't think it was clear enough on Booking.com (or maybe I overlooked it) but you park your car and the only access to the lodge is by shuttle truck or gondola up the mountain. Don't forget anything in your car, it will take 45 minutes to go down and get back!

We loved everything about our stay here. This was the last hotel of 10 on our travels- it was lovely to be up the mountain- so peaceful. We loved having to take the cable car up to the hotel- a special bonus was the complimentary guided walk in the morning-the guide was really knowledgeable and such a lovely guy. All of the staff were super friendly

Expected an amazing view- but the hotel looks over the cable car- didn’t effect our stay but not quite what I expected

The location is amazing. So easy to ski and then relax whether you want. Really enjoyed the skiing too. The rooms are lovely, small but efficient and comfortable. And the food was quite good. It has a resort feel but is much more remote and tranquil.

Food options are limited. I don't know that we could stay for more than three days without getting bored. The food is also really expensive, which I understand since you're at the top of a mountain. The room rates are really reasonable but when you factor in how much you'll be spending on food it doubles or triples.

I had the most incredible experience during my stay here. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with a breathtaking view that left me in awe. The young and vibrant staff, hailing from different parts of the country, added an extra touch of positivity and enthusiasm to my visit. One of the highlights of my stay was the opportunity to engage with the staff who shared their own positive experiences, creating an atmosphere of warmth and camaraderie. The bonfire event organized by the hotel was an absolute delight, allowing me to connect with fellow guests and create unforgettable memories. Overall, my trip was nothing short of amazing. The combination of the stunning view, the energetic and friendly staff, and the engaging activities made this stay the best one I have ever experienced. I am grateful for the wonderful hospitality and the effort put into ensuring that guests have an incredible time. Thank you for providing such an exceptional experience. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a truly memorable trip
