Staying in the property really makes you feel like you were in Victorian time. It’s really a cute house and just so cozy. It’s also walking distance to a lot of things. The guy who checked us in around 4pm is very nice, he made sure we were served with all the complimentary stuff we get from the accommodation and very detailed about everything we can do during stay. and the lady who helped us for breakfast, they both made us feel very welcomed. They’re the nicest people we’ve met.
We were in room 8 which I think on the 3rd floor, the room is clean and so the bathroom, but there’s still the smell of urine/sewer around the room . Housekeeping even came up to clean the bathroom again, but it still smells. I’m not sure if it’s just because the house is that old or maybe I’m smelling the outside bathroom. Also During the afternoon tea, the lady with a black/brown hair who served us is not so friendly, she seems uptight, it’s our first time for tea as well, and she’s just not as helpful to us compared to others who were there, given we have a kid with us and I guess not all wants to deal with a kid. But I felt the difference of the treatment. But luckily there’s another blonde lady who is very nice, she’s the one who served us the food.

I was really worried that our little suite at the top of the house would be too hot at the end of July, but the weather was perfect with a breeze, and all we had to do was open the windows. It was charming and comfortable up there. We loved the house with its panneling, stained-glass windows, and other special features, such as the flowers painted on the ceiling in one of the tea rooms. Breakfasts and our afternoon tea were very good. Loved the china! The location is perfect, right near the ferry and within walking distance of Murchie's and Munro's books.
I prefer loose tea myself, but I realize that would be difficult when serving so many people.

Period property built around 130 years ago located on the waterfront in the beautiful Victoria! The property has a lot of character! We stayed in the Bellevue Suite which had a huge bed and plenty of space! Lovely room .. my parents stayed in the Emily carr suite which was slightly smaller . Breakfast is a little unusual but has plenty to choose from served in an afternoon tea style .
Confusion around checking in .. we were sent to a sister hotel then back again to the Pendray property. Understandably there is no elevator in the property due to its age .. bare this in mind around carrying bags

This was my second time staying at the Pendray and it was wonderful - a very unique experience. The front desk staff provided excellent service and the breakfast and afternoon tea team were very helpful. The grounds are well maintained and the summer garden was in full bloom giving the place an authentic English garden feel. We arrived on the Coho ferry from Port Angeles and appreciated the hotel's proximity to attractions, restaurants and its general ambiance.
The only way to access the rooms is by climbing a set of stairs. We traveled with our 77 year old mother who has a mobility impairment and it would have been nice to have an elevator or a wheelchair access ramp on the property to help her get to our room on the second level.

Great location, beautiful home and garden, and the best breakfast, we were going to try different breakfast options each morning but ended up having the French breakfast (the fast choice) every morning. It is served on 3 layer tray just like afternoon tea with strawberry and apple, cheese, local sausage with great mustard, home made quiche, croissants with jam. Everything served was freshly cooked and tasty. I normally drink coffee in the morning but I tried tea since it is a well known tea house. It was excellent!
A little bit cold room - didn’t find a thermostat to control the temperature

They serve a tiered breakfast (small bites of sweet and savory breakfast items) rather than a traditional plated one, but the variety, quantity and quality of choices were plenty to satisfy your appetite and taste buds. Our room, the Queen Anne Suite, had a balcony overlooking the harbor and their lush gardens.
One small trash can for a two-room suite wasn't adequate. Also, you could hear all of the movements of the guests in the room above us. Otherwise, the location was peaceful even though it was in the heart of the harbor.

The location, the overall vibe, and the decor of the hotel. The afternoon tea was a great experience. I was also pleasantly surprised with the discount on bike rental. The tea choices were excellent!
I would expect a different breakfast - more protein-like choices and more fruits. I specifically booked this B&B for the breakfast pictures I saw on the Booking website and expected something different. The bed could have been more comfortable. This type of bed is found in economy hotels, not in pricey B&B facilities.

The Victorian experience is alive and well in this lovely 125-year-old house turned into tea room and 9-room hotel. Breakfast is included, which is worth the price alone. Guests also get 25% off Afternoon Tea (dinner not needed after this.) This is not the usual hotel stay, but it’s clean comfortable and memorable due to the ambience and a wonderful staff. PS. The complimentary evening tea or glass of bubbly is just the cherry on top. I can’t wait to come back!
This is an historic listed property. The house is now over 125 years old. Therefore the electrical seems unlikely to accommodate all our devices, and the lighting is a challenge. Not a deal-breaker. I sense it’s time for some Reno’s and refreshes.

Loved the historic Victorian home—the ambiance and decor! The staff were wonderful as was the perfect location right at the inner harbor!
The only problem was the one wall of the bedroom, as there was a low sloping angle with an edge to it. I bumped my head pretty hard several times. Even so, the roomy suite, with sitting room and lovely view of the harbor area, were so wonderful that I would stay there again, maybe even in the same suite again!

We had the most wonderful time for my husbands Birthday, he has always admired old buildings and he just loved the Pendray Inn. It was warm and cozy, it felt like home. Beds and room were lovely and they brought us tea in beautiful china tea pot and cups. The morning breakfast was wonderful and tasty and unbelievable service, all the staff were exceptional. We did not use our car at all, we walked everywhere. Victoria is so amazing. The only thing I can say is with no elevator make sure you are ok with climbing lots of stairs, other than that we had no complaints, we will book at the Pendray again, thanks to all the staff for making our mini vacation and prefect one.
Nothing it was all perfect.
