We stayed in the suite with balcony which had a lovely view. Breakfast and the afternoon tea was excellent. Particularly liked the ambience of the hotel.

On the day of check out as we checked out before 10 am they were unable to provide us with a copy of the invoice detailing any extras charged to our room. After receiving an email copy of the invoice we noticed we had been charged for breakfast on one of the days which should have been included in our room rate. We are still waiting for a refund. All guests should be provided with sight of any extras charged to the room before departure regardless of time of departure. If this had happened any mistakes in charging could have been rectified there and then. We are now in the situation of being back in the UK and having to chase for a refund via email.

This is a beautiful old mansion set in the heart of the inner harbour. Our room had a spectacular view and a cute balcony. The included yea and breakfast in the morning was exceptional. We’ve stayed here several times over the years and it’s always enjoyable.

The one thing I will note is the concierge didn’t seem to know anything about Victoria and was never at the desk. The wait staff helped us mostly. When we did manage to catch her, we asked for a few recommendations, places to eat, etc. She just kept saying she doesn’t live in Victoria so couldn’t help us. Why are you a concierge then? Utterly useless. Regardless, the place is beautiful and I recommend it.

Breakfast was lovely and charming, The food was delicious as was the Imperial Earl Grey tea. Nice to see it was Silk Road. The Oughtred coffee was good according to my Husband, I did not have any of that. The sausage was especially good. The clotted crem was quite authentic as I have had tea at the Ritz in London, UK and this was similar. The strawberry preserves actually tasted like strawberries. Not saccharine at all. Though I prefer raspberry preserves it was very good. Service was a little slow though staff was polite.

One staff member lead us to our room but did not appear to know where the light switch was. Also, the room was heated and stuffy that way despite the fan being on. I know you likely get a lot of older folks and they can get cold but having the heat on in July seemed like a tremendous waste of energy. Which likely could have been resolved using other more energy efficient ways ie: blankets etc.

The breakfast at the hotel was absolutely delightful and surpassed all my expectations. However, the bed size was slightly small for two adults, despite its incredibly clean and beautiful design. The hotel's location was perfect, offering a stunning harbor view.

There was no reception available at 6pm, which made it difficult to seek assistance. Additionally, there was no staff available to help with the luggage, which was inconvenient. The housekeeping services were also lacking, leaving room for improvement. Lastly, the absence of an elevator was an inconvenience that affected accessibility.

We loved the fact that the hotel is really old and that there was an effort to keep the furnishings in the style of the early 20th century. We also loved the emphasis on "tea" and old-style tea service and the unique menus and service ... for breakfast. We didn't feel we needed to also attend "afternoon tea" at the hotel.

The hair dryer in our room stopped working. Otherwise, the room was just fine! We liked the decor and the fact that we were in a "suite" was practical. We could receive visitors in our living room and enjoy the view of the harbor from the balcony. Our friends stayed in the "sister" hotel behind the Pendray and so we were able to communicate with them very easily and visit each other.

This is an extremely characterful hotel with a very interesting history. All the rooms are uniquely furnished with an antique/ colonial feel. From a staffing perspective it effectively shuts down at 6pm. So, dinner is not an option - this is no hardship with all the fantastic restaurants in Victoria. The breakfast was a major highlight, It was beautifully served, almost like an 'afternoon tea', and very tasty.

The only drawback was no air conditioning in the rooms. The age of the house makes it impossible. Probably uncomfortable later in the year but just about ok for us in early June.

Great location in the heart of downtown Victoria.

Due to the Inn and Tea House being used as a film location, all guests had to eat breakfast in the more modern Huntington Manor behind the Inn. Unfortunately, the breakfast served was comparable to one served in a Motel 8. Definitely not the charm or quality of a breakfast that is serviced in the Tea House. The consolation was free tickets to the BC Museum whether you were able to attend or not. And tickets were not readily available at the front desk. Staff did however try their best to obtain them as quickly as possible. So a huge shoot out to all the front desk staff!

I loved everything. The room was beautiful. The bed was comfortable. The tea is super delicious and excellent price. The service was amazing and accommodating. The free breakfast was absolutely delicious. Super beautiful building. The location is fantastic. I parked my vehicle all weekend in their free parking lot and walked everywhere.

I only wish I had gone when all the plants were in full bloom. We got the garden view room and it looked like the graveyard view because the plant beds weren't in bloom. But I'm sure it will look absolutely stunning once they do bloom.

AMAZING building, just perfect and sooo beautiful when it's all lit up at night! Absolutely magical! The included "afternoon tea" kind of breakfast was good, but it's mostly the whole ambiance that is just so perfect, sitting in the sunroom. The man who served me breakfast was very friendly. The little tea cart set up with the fireplace in the entrance was also a nice, very cozy touch. Loved the old, squeaky stairs. My room (Harbour Room) was great, the panoramic view of the harbour was just AMAZING, day and night. I got this room at a pretty reasonable price too, even though I was by myself.

The room was extremely cold I could barely sleep :( The room was clean, but I'm not a fan of carpeted floors because it does attract bugs (I saw a big silver fish on the carpet, one on the bathroom floor and one inside the baththub...) but I did travel in late February when it is probably less busy, and it is an old house after all. There were no trash can liners and it made me feel uncomfortable putting anything in them.

Very cozy and comfortable! The building felt so rich in history and character, a lot of original fixtures were kept up and all the decor felt very intentional and cared for right down to the curtains in our room. We stayed in the Emily Carr suite and it was so charming and the view out the window was better than we had imagined. The breakfast included appeared to be lacking, as they had included our two choices on only one tiered serving tower - however ! After sharing the entire tower with my partner it was more than enough for the two of us! The tea menu was the perfect size and we'll absolutely be coming back, if not for just the tea and ambiance itself!

Some of the bathroom wallpaper had started to peel slightly from the humidity but it was hardly anything to write home about in comparison to everything else during our stay.
