The room was well appointed with examples of Danish design. The bathroom was modern and spotlessly clean.

When we went to check out we were told that we had to pay a premium because we were paying with a credit card. We had booked our stay on Booking.com. There was no mention of any type of premium because we used a credit card. I travel extensively and have NEVER come across this before. I asked to see the manager but the person behind the reception told me he was in charge and NO EXCEPTIONS could be made to this policy. He then produced a small picture frame that had their "Credit Card Policy" and told me I should have been made aware of this at 'Check-in'. - noboby had shown us this when we arrived. On reflection, this should be on the listing on Booking.com. If we had know this we would have booked elsewhere.

Beautiful building, fantastic location, room lovely, stylish

Bathroom was very tired in our room, shower pressure not great & some Mildew around shower handle but this aside hotel was lovely, maybe just a bathroom refurb in the rooms but wouldn’t stop me staying again.

Rubbish/trash from the previous occupant was not cleaned on our arrival. We asked reception to clean the room, but it was still not cleaned during our stay.

Location was very convenient, and we only discovered the excellent brunch spot next door on our last day! Bed was very comfortable.

There was a funny smell (of drains) in the bathroom, which was a bit off putting.

Ascot Hotel is centrally located just steps away from Tiviloi. Given its location our room was very quiet and we slept very well. Even with a concert every night across the street (which shut down by 9pm) Bed/duvets/pillows very comfy. Good shower and nice amenities. Breakfast was expansive with everything from eggs to yogurt to meat cheeses, breads and excellent tea and coffee.

Our room on 4th floor was built into the eaves so lots of head banging at first given low ceilings but we got used to it. Very little room for luggage - but we pack light so made it work with the use of the ironing board as an extra luggage rack.

Location was great, a short walk from the train station and close to museums. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Lovely decor and rooms were a very nice size. The bar was decorated nicely with a vast range of cocktails. I would stay here again in the future.

There was a lot of construction when we were visiting at a property next door which was disturbing. At some points it sounded as if they were drilling into the room. This was not within their control and as it was a short stay we didn't request our room to be moved - I imagine if we had they would have been very accommodation as the staff were always helpful.

Great location, in the heart of the city. The room was nice, with a good bathroom, great bed, and very clean. Excelent noise isolation, we never heard our next door neighbours. The breakfast was excelent, great variety of products for all tastes.

There wasn’t an AC system, and the room was quite hot because of the sunlight it caught all afternoon; to make it worse, we couldn’t sleep with open windows because of the noise outside. Also, the hair dryer didn’t work. Improvement tip: The TV channels provided were few, and 98% in danish, which, for a danish non-speaker is a bore…

The location is excellent; it's near the train station and Tivoli, there is a nice local bar and venue right in front, several restaurants around, a cute plaza with the townhall, many boutiques are a walk away and if you follow the street they're on you'll land at Nihavn !! The rooms feel comfortable and clean, the decoration of the whole place is lovely, it feels intentional and elegant. The breakfast buffet was great it had many choices, qualify ingredients and offered lactose free options. Our room also had a convenient small lobby area separating the bathroom, fridge, safe and wardrobe from the rest of the room, providing extra privacy as well as blocking the noise from the hallway.

Nothing much, there is carpeting which makes sense because the natural floors underneath are old and creak. Our carpet had an odd stain near a slightly scraped doorframe. It's the only "negative" thing I found about the room and it's nothing really all that bothering but it made the room look a bit less clean.

The hotel is in an excellent position and close to the metro and other attractions. The room on the ground floor was really big and comfortable and had every amenity we needed.

There was construction going on outside on the building opposite. Nothing was said to us in advance. The builders started at about 7am every morning. (6am uk time!!) We were in one of the rooms below the breakfast hall and it was noisy with chairs being moved across the floor from about 7:30am onwards. There is no restaurant in the hotel…. No food available apart from a continental breakfast.

The hotel is beautiful on the outside and inside. The hotel bar is stunning and does good cocktails. A lot of reviews on here said the rooms were small but we found it ok for size. The beds are huge and really comfortable. The shower was hot and had good pressure. The location was perfect with only a short walk to the metro on Radhuspladsen or the train station at Kongens Nytorv. We found the hotel good value for money for a city and the staff were friendly too. A fabulous stay!!

The bathroom is in room and only separated but a glass sliding door so there isn't much privacy. We didn't try breakfast but thought it was quite expensive and didn't like the fact you had to pay for the nice coffee in the room but perhaps that is normal in Denmark. Not much to dislike!
