Food was excellent and the service in the restaurant exceptional, the best of our 4 week trip around India. Location was good for Munar and the area.

The place was too noisy, music blaring from the entertainment room could be heard 2 floors down due to the open design of the building, was normally empty but the music kept playing. Had to ask them to turn down as next to the restaurant and turned it off myself too. There is enough noise from the planned activities and local guests without adding to it with unnecessary noise. Spoilt an otherwise good stay.

The staff were very friendly and always ready to help. There was a big games room where tea and coffee was served along with local treats at 4.30 pm every day. The food was lovely and the restaurant staff were wonderful. Lung was very helpful on our first visit and talked us through the different dishes on the menu. The TV worked well and offered a variety of channels allowing us to watch the British news and football! Sightseeing was easy to arrange via reception. The hotel had a nice outside pool and a spa. We didn’t use them but we would have made use of them had we stayed longer.

Our driver couldn’t find the resort so better signage from the main road would be helpful. The hot water ran out quickly in the mornings so had a tepid shower a couple of days. We had a cottage and our neighbours were quite noisy as the walls weren’t very soundproof!

The resort is a hidden gem at Anachal. Stayed with family and had a lovely time. The buffet breakfast at the resort was absolutely delicious. It has a good mix of indian and continental dishes and would recommend it to anyone blindly. Many attractions in almost 30-40 minutes of travel from the resort.

As resort is located on the hilltop, it would be more appealing if the way towards the resort from the main road is maintained in a good way. It would be difficult for elder people to walk upward given the terrain. Another thing that I noted was that the staff were pushing us much to write a review on the day of our checkout. If you are doing a good service, please be assured that people will definitely write reviews good/bad to live up to it. Please be professional and refrain from pushing people to write reviews.

Our family of nine, including four kids, recently stayed at the Elephant Passage Resort in Munnar, and it was an incredible experience! We booked rooms on the first floor, just above the reception building, and were treated to stunning views of the lush greenery surrounding the property. The resort, perched on a steep hill, offers breathtaking vistas of Munnar, making it an ideal spot for a 3-4 day trip. The staff at Elephant Passage are exceptionally friendly and attentive. Housekeeping was impressively swift, delivering whatever we needed in under two minutes! A special mention goes to Chef Harikrishnan for the amazing dishes he prepared during our stay. The activity team, Suresh and Abhay Mohan, ensured we had a lot of fun and laughter, especially during the bonfire nights. We played games, danced, and connected with many other guests. The kids' activity center, located next to the restaurant, is fantastic. It offers a wide range of activities and ample space for the kids to enjoy, along with great views. The evening tea and snack sessions provided a unique opportunity for relaxing and socializing. The breakfast menu is excellent, with delicious locally sourced and made food. We also loved taking walks on the soft trekking tracks around the property. The serene environment, with birds chirping and the wind whispering through the trees, made for a delightful experience. While the pool is not temperature-controlled, which limited our time in it due to the cold, the overall stay was truly amazing, and the kids absolutely loved it. We highly recommend Elephant Passage Resort for a memorable family vacation in Munnar.

Pool isn’t temperature controlled WiFi is too slow

Nice location amidst greenery and nice view of valley and mountain. Calm and cool place to stay and relax. Enjoyed staying with my family. Very nice swimming pool with sufficient size and valley view. Very supportive and service minded staff. On our request, they sent a cake at midnight to celebrate my wife's birthday. Clean rooms and well maintained surroundings. It rained for sometime which gave a great feel of nature's music. My car was covered with leaves due to the rain, but they brought it clean for my departure. Special thanks for that.

Hotel could not accept my debit or credit card for payment, citing reason of connectivity issue, the same excuse heard during checking in and checking out on the 3rd day. Wifi connectivity in both the rooms was a continuous issue. Staff was quick to respond to our calls, but the issue kept on recurring, stealing the comfort of our stay. Taste of food like Biriyani was below average (not as expected in such a facility), same for certain non-veg items. However, overall quality of food was very good.

Our rooms were clean and comfortable. Beautiful garden. Pool with a breathtaking view. Breakfast was delicious. The staff were very polite and helpful in general. However, our check-in process was not smooth which really did cause us a lot of stress. This was ultimately caused due to lack of communication from the resort as to the documents required for check-in. One member of staff at the reception was not very accommodating or apologetic about this, hence our first impression was not good. However, all other members of staff were very helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

As soon as I booked rooms via booking.com, I received a message from The Elephant Passage requesting a bank transfer of 25% of the total amount within 48 hours to secure of the rooms. I didn't transfer this because it wasn’t mentioned at the time of booking the rooms. I then contacted them on their numbers listed on the website and was told the booking is confirmed and there was no mention of the bank transfer request. This was very odd. We also had a bad start during check-in, again caused by lack of communication from the resort.

Lovely hotel, excellent staff, we swam every day in a nice clean pool, the food was great, breakfast, lunch and evening meal. Thank you to all for making our stay pleasurable and memorable.

The hotel arranged a local guide for trekking. He was not engaged and spent his time on his mobile phone. Threw his empty plastic water bottle into the undergrowth. Plus plus. On the second day we found Arun from D Adventures (highly recommended on Trip Advisor) and took a second trek in the tree plantations and up to the ridge of the Lakshmi mountains which was entirely different and very enjoyable. He was a first class guide with excellent local knowledge of the tea plantations, India and Kerrela culture in general. The hotel responded and will plan to use his services going forwards. This was not a hotel issue at all but worth advising fellow travellers. We loved the hotel and had nothing to fault them. Thank you.

Greate breakfast buffet wouldn’t expect more for value for price, however as someone travelling from England could do with more English breakfast type things/ continental breakfast Maybe more cereal/ yoghurt and fruit options that would be a personal preference. Still thought breakfast was fantastic anyway no need to improve

No alcohol, however did also enjoy a detox stay but could potentially be more enjoyable with a cocktail especially the pool that would be something I would definitely spend some money on. But again just a person preference/vice genuinely no need for improvement. The vibes were perfect

I'm so glad I changed one of my other bookings to stay at Elephant Passage. I travelled here with my family (including my pet cat) and we were treated so well here. My top 5 pick of things my family and I absolutely loved: 1. Pet friendly 2. Breakfast options 3. Cottage rooms with ample space and balcony 4. Complimentary activities including tea and bonfire 5. Amenities - Spa, Pool to plunge in with a view and games room!

This place is not exactly in the heart of Munnar. You will need to have your own transport to get to the centre. This wasn't a big issue for us as it was not our first visit but probably something newbies should know. Regardless the hotel will also make arrangements for you if you don't have your own mode of transport. Also noted, the hotel is located high up on a hill, it is a very very steep road to the entrance and is not easily accessible for people with mobility issues.
