The room was comfortable, spacious and had a bath. We had a lovely breakfast in the morning and it was only a short walk to St. Mark’s Square.

I wish the bath was bigger and that there was a hot breakfast option, but these are minor details.

+ The location was excellent. ++ Mustafa is one of the kindest and most proactive receptionists I have met.

- Breakfast could have had hot food, for example eggs.

This hotel was recommended to us by family members who had stayed there in previous years. This is an old-fashioned hotel in a historic building which ensures a great atmosphere. The location is great, away from the main tourist masses in a area that local people actually live in. Easy walking distance from St Mark's square along the waterfront. And well connected to the vaporetto network at Biennale landing stage. There is a wide boulevard with many shops and exceptional local restaurants that serves mainly locals just round the corner.

The breakfast area is very crowded and the choices are a little basic.

We were 2 staying there a few days. We appreciated : the friendly welcome on our late arrival (thanks Moustafa), the location (not too far from San Marca Piazza area) in a living area, the equipment of hotel/room, the breakfast. On top of that : one of us forgot his Hugo Boss sliders in the bathroom. The hotel confirmed the found them (many would have kept them and said they did not fond anything !). They were really helpfull in having them back. Thanks for everything to all theam staff !

Things to improve : the mattress confort is too firm (or mattress too thin).

Location is great, away from the main tourist areas and 5 mins walk from the vaporetto. Its tastefully decorated and clean, and good value for the cost. Breakfast was good, staff are all very friendly and welcoming. There's a great choice of bars and restaurants in the main street just round the corner and it's a beautiful locality. It's a good budget choice.

Drawback is the noise of the Co-op shop on the block stocking up in the early morning as our room was on that side of hotel. Still a good budget choice.

Room was small but well appointed. The shower was teeny tiny but I'm not a big person so it was fine. I think I was put in something like an attic room because I was traveling alone and I had no problems with the room. Again, good breakfast, and this was one of the reasons I chose this hotel. It included breakfast and even though I didn't get to eat it every day I did enjoy it when I got up early enough to have it. Breakfast tip: combine cappuccino + hot chocolate to make delicious mocha for a longer and smoother caffeine ride in the morning walking about :) Location was key because I was there to visit all sorts of exhibitions and a couple of special events related to la Biennale so I couldn't be in a better place than right in the middle of Giardini. Via Garibaldi seems to have become a lot more popular since the last time I visited and now it has a fun nightlife so take advantage of the great bars, restos, and cafés. This hotel is right behind the Coop supermarket so it makes for efficient and quick shopping for the most delicious cheeses, breads, plenty of dry goods, water, at great prices.

The mega steep climb up the four flights to make it to the room was a long haul every single time but it was worth it to get to the room because I could look out the window. Sometimes I'd catch the neighbor's two cats across the way and we would hold staring contests while I took their picture.

The double room we stayed in was bigger, more comfortable and more elegant than we expected. The location, Castello alto (i.e. relatively far from San Marco and the more obvious touristic routes), is ideal if one wants to enjoy Venice's usual, wonderful views but also wants to see how real people live in Venice. Only a couple of steps away from Via Garibaldi, its gardens and the wonderful San Piero in Castello, Venice's first basilica. The night receptionist Mustafa has all the contagiously enthusiasm of the Egyptian people.

Very nice hotel, spacious and clean rooms, personnel at the front desk is very nice and welcoming. Good price/quality ratio. In the neighborhood a lot of decent restaurants. At the same time, it's quite in the rooms.

Wifi at night didn't work properly. Breakfasts are poor to my mind. Mostly consists of bread. It would have been nice to add basic vegetables and fruits, eggs in some form. It would have been nice to have kettle in the room to be able to make tea/coffee. Mattresses could be changed to the newer ones.

We booked here as we wanted to have the whole “Venetian” experience and we were right. After walking all day through the streets of one of the most beautiful cities in the world, full of beauty and history, we came back to this lovely and serene hotel to rest:) It’s very clean, the rooms are big with high ceilings, and it’s situated in a beautiful area quite close to San Marco. I can say that the bed and pillows were the best we’ve had on our holidays (we’ve never slept better). Breakfast was also good and diverse. All the staff are very welcoming and friendly, and Mustafa (at the reception) is ABSOLUTELY adorable! He will help you with anything you need, answer all your questions, give you good advice, and his sense of humor and wittiness are lovely. He will make you feel at home:) We definitely recommend this hotel for a great stay in wonderful Venice!

The location of the hotel is ideal if you are an art lover (Art Biennale): between Giardini and Arsenale. Quiet, uncrowded area, close to bars, restaurants and a good grocery store. Not far from the vaporetto stop with an excellent connection to the Lido, an island of beautiful beaches. The breakfast was good, above Italian standards (ham, cheese, cereal, yogurt, juice, coffee, etc.). The hotel staff - very cordial and helpful, especially Mustafa, whose wise sense of humor we will long remember.

It was generally quiet - good soundproofing of the walls, with the single exception of one night, during which a noisy group of guests celebrated something just behind the wall of our room.
