The room was incredible! It was clean and beautiful. We had a bathroom and a shower there. In the room you can find a kettle, a hairdryer and an iron. The location is perfect. It is not far away from Kyoto station and from Kyoto Tower. And the hotel itself is beautiful. The garden is decorated in Japanese style. We checked in at 23:00 and hotel staff was very kind. We also left our baggage there till evening, after our check out.

The staff was lovely and extremely accommodating. The facilities and the overall vibe of the hotel is very clean, posh, yet comfortable and welcoming. Our room was spotless and always a welcome sight after a long day of touring and sightseeing. The cherry on top is the location of the hotel: it's literally within 5-10 minutes of Kyoto Station, where the subway and buses are located. This made it extremely easy to go on tours and move around Kyoto! I would recommend this hotel to everyone! We made a lot of good memories from our trip and Richmond Hotel had a huge part in that. :)

Location is perfect, just blocks from Kyoto Station and all the train lines. The breakfast, afternoon snack, and evening drinks really made this hotel worth every penny. The best part was the welcoming staff, devoted to making all the details of your stay perfect. Their front desk will take your bags before check in and after check out so you don't waste time with suitcases. Their unwavering professionalism and attention to detail was top notch. We had everything we needed, and they had everything we forgot to bring. They truly want nothing more than to make your stay as perfect as they can.

The rooms are a bit small compared to North American rooms, but not unexpected. The beds are soft, which may or may not be someone's style.

Everything was on point. A lot of value for the price. Didn't expect some of the service I received, including the free aperitivo in the evening.

OMG. This is the best hotel my kids and me were in Japan. The zen ambiance and the kindness of all the staff at every moment is just amazing. It was a fantastic surprise from the lobby to the room. Our room were wonderful and we were feeling like in a Japanese traditional house! Just wonderful! The breakfast just excellent with a lot of options to discover Japanese cuisine. Another very nice surprise were the included free amenities for all the guests: from 1pm to 5 pm to have a choice of Japanese dessert and non stop drinks (without alcohol) for families and from 6pm to 8 pm a Sake and beer degustation. Just great to continue to discover Kyoto and Japanese culture. They are very kind and always ready to help you. I told them personally before my check out!! The best hotel that I strongly recommend to everyone!! Next year we will come back for sure!!

Rooms a touch small but typical for Japan.

The courtyard at the entrance is very beautiful, check-in is very convenient, and amenities are available in the lobby on the first floor. The room is spacious with a large bed, and there is a small tatami. There are three cleaning modes to choose: regular mode, eco mode and no cleaning, which can be selected through the TV in the room every day. You can enjoy free afternoon tea and free alcohol in the evening. It takes only 5-8 mins to get to JR Kyoto station. so the transportation is convenient. All in all, it was an excellent experience and I would still choose this hotel if I come to Kyoto again next year.

6-7 minutes walk from the Kyoto station, making it easy for our day trips and when we were leaving for KIX airport. The hotel amenities were superb for a business hotel - having free afternoon snacks and sake and drinks in the evening. The little internal garden is beautiful too There is also a famous ramen literally at the doorstep next to the hotel, and nice izakayas in the area.

I booked the smallest standard room and the double bed is a little small. However, I knew what I booked - if you prefer a bigger space for 2, book twin beds. Also, if it was a tad closer to Kyoto station it would have been even better!

The hotel is great - a quiet oasis in the center of Kyoto. A short walk to Kyoto station (trains, buses) and near many restaurants and small convenience stores, as well as big shopping malls. The hotel has exquisite breakfast, free afternoon snacks and a happy hour that is also included in the price. They even have activities for kids, such as bracelet making etc. It is a great place for families. They have a laundry room and vending machine, and an amenity bar, which is really excellent. Staff is very nice and helpful. We loved our stay and will certainly come back !

The location is good, close to Kyoto station, very convenient for daily travel. self check in and check out is fast and convenient. the room is nice and quiet. The TV is basically a self service center and you can find all the information needed for your stay. The breakfast is good but needs extra pay and pre-order one day ahead. I like the afternoon tea time in the hotel, a good option for a rest after morning excursion. And the hotel host some small events of crafts too. overall a nice stay of four nights.
