The location is beautiful! You cannot get any closer to the water if you tried. Upon check-in I had a staff member give us 5Star ***** treatment. The lady was lovely and even took my sons hand to lead us to our room (big deal, he is autistic) I had my hands full so she opened up the room and gave me a quick run down. Unfortunately I got there late as I was held up from a road accident however still made it in time to watch the sunset!!! Took full advantage of the Hot plunge pool at night and in the morning. (towels at reception) We also had a nice soak in the hot tub. Located on the bottom floor, it was lovely to have a little courtyard at the front to have bean bags to relax and have a wine, enjoy the world go by. Hot steam comes up from a pipe over the lake to you can get some nice photos. Great easy to use WIFI - everything you need in a kitchen. LOVE the toiletries. smell so good and they are very GREEN in their packaging. Plenty of hot beverage choice and a nice coffee maker. Would 100% stay here again, but next time, for longer!!

Honestly, this is just being really nitpicky. Love this hotel! Highly recommend My stay wasn't long enough very minor - but for me just the walls of the courtyards going straight across. Only because my son doesn't know boundaries. Google maps took me down the wrong road - near the restaurant.

The staff were so friendly and warm. The location is amazing value for money. We were basically right on the lake. Our room was well equipped, clean, comfortable and warm.

The toughest thing is, if you're heading south, turning right into the property from the main road is a bit hairy. I'd suggest continuing south until you find a right turn with a median or a side street on the left to turn around so you can turn left into the property. Also, Google's directions will take you to a side street next to The Cove motel. Ignore that and aim for between The Cove and Reef Resort.

Our check in was hassle free and room was exactly as expected. The view was amazing and the lake walkway was easily accessible from the property. There was absolutely no road noise and the room was lovely and warm with underfloor heating. Very clean and well furnished with enough seating for everyone at the table and lounge area. Good off road parking.

Unfortunately our only complaint were the neighbours next door making loud noises until 2am!!! Had to eventually bang on their door to get them to stop. Not the accommodations fault but be aware the soundproofing isnt so good between rooms. Fortunately it only happened for one night out of 3.

Beautiful location right on the water front of Lake Taupo. Wonderfully warm room. Spa bath in the room provided was something extra we didn't know we were getting with the booking. Staff were very accomodating on check in and check out. We left our car in the car park on check out and walked next door to the cafe where we enjoyed a delicious breakfast. Older style property but it meant you got way more for your money than modern newer accomodation. Kitchenette was a bonus as we had dinner with us and the facilities to heat and eat it, with all we needed available, even salt and pepper. Comfortable bed, lovely bedding, great shower water pressure. Would definitely stay again.

Should of packed lighter, a few stairs up to our room but wouldn't change it as the room had a fabulous view and feel. Coffee pods available to ask for at the office but didn't realise until the morning when looking to make coffee first thing, would be great if clarified or told at check in, or 2-4 are built into the accomodation cost and kept in the room with the coffee maker.

We loved the view and the balcony: you really can not get any closer to the lake! There is also a path right along the waterfront. The room itself was specious and nicely decorated. The kitchenette had everything you could need. The outdoor pool (although small) is fed by a natural spring and delightfully warm. The lady at the reception was also very friendly and accommodating! We wished we could have stayed a few more days.

The bathroom is very small. My friend and I stayed in a room for 4 (a kingsize bed in main room and 2 singles in a separate bedroom) and we could not imagine sharing this tiny space with 4 people. One other problem was that the door to the small bedroom (with 2 single beds) could not be closed, which allowed the light from the hallway to shine directly into it - the window covering did not block enough.

The room was lovely & spacious, and the view was to die for. The beds were very comfortable, and the room was lovely and warm (we were there in winter). The manager Dayna was so lovely and accommodating, she provided fantastic customer service. The thermal pool was perfect for the freezing weather conditions. Also, Lakeside is not just a gimmick! Our room was mere steps away from the lake's edge - a stunning view to wake up to.

To be honest, there isn't really anything to complain about.

The room was excellent and better than I was expecting. The view was spectacular with the lake at your feet and the mountains in the background. The property was off the main road so there was no noise that would plague other properties near by. The pool was clean, mineralised and HOT. Perfect to sooth our sore muscles after a day on the mountain bikes.

The only thing I didnt like was we were only there one night :(

Incredible location right on the lake. Lovely room and great hot pool.

Aircon wasnt working in the room which got quite hot overnight. Manager attempted to fix but didn't work. Found some long black hairs in the shower drain and even on the sliding door of the bathroom which was a bit icky but everywhere else appeared very clean and tidy.

I loved that it was right beside the lake. Views were wonderful & it was great there is a gate onto the lakefront path for easy access. Very friendly & helpful staff. Comfortable bed. Underfloor thermal heating is a bonus at this time of year. Very clean, tidy & well presented.

Some of the facilities are a bit dated. The bathroom & toilet mainly. There was nothing wrong with them but just perhaps need updating to reflect the price of the unit. Although I realise the price is reflective of the property bring lake front

Lovely, clean comfortable room at ground level. Everything was provided for a comfortable stay. Loved the heated mineral pool and relaxing outdoor area. Good location and a comfortable walk into town. We were welcomed by Dayna, who was always friendly and happy to help.
