Well, I liked getting the upgrade! The electronic keycard is a great improvement. The basin soap and shower gel dispensers are a great idea, and appreciated.

I loved the cooked breakfast etc. I think you could offer more bread products like croissants. Also, you could add fruit yoghurts. The electronic key card could have a printed logo of Hotel Celebrity. I appreciate that the 'key' can be used repeatedly, for any bedroom. My room looked down onto your grass & patio area. Suggest you get a pressure washer to clean the patio slabs. Aswell as looking smarter, this would reduce any slippage for guests.

I have stayed many times before - helpful staff, reasonable price, a bit of character, good location for the Town Centre and reasonable parking. I'll probably be back again.

Even though Feb is down season, and the hotel need guests, the Hotel management needs to make sure they aren't accepting bookings from undesirable guests. They know what I mean by this.

Excellent value for money when compared to the price of other places I checked out.

I only stayed from 6 pm until 10 am and parked my car in the hotel car park for which I had to pay 2 days' parking, adding £8 to the cost. Not a huge amount so I didn't make a fuss about it but feel that this should have been made clear and that the parking should be done for the period of parking, ie. I was there less than 24 hours so should not have been charged 2 days, even thought technically it was Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

Greeted by a happy smiling receptionist who spent several minutes helping with the parking machine, explained what was available to us and showed us the way to the lift. The room was spotlessly clean and spacious, beds comfortable and bathroom quite superb. The room theme was quite subtle and could be readily ignored , which we did. TV was easy to use and functioned perfectly. Plenty of towels available too. Breakfast was a comprehensive buffet and very good.

The only thing that I could fault it on was the heating. Whilst the radiator was off, the big bore pipes carried sufficient heat to make the bedroom uncomfortably warm. Quite a feat in April. It must be costing a fortune to heat this place but perhaps the boiler controls are a bit old-fashioned. Seemed wrong to throw the windows open and waste all that energy but it was the only way to endure the heat.

Hotel Celebrity is my go to hotel for stays in Bournemouth and I always enjoy my time here. I have been in town a lot this year for both the music scene, and the Air Festival, and have stayed at Celebrity every time. Location wise, it is perfect - close to the station, easy access to East Cliff and the beach, as well as the town centre and local restaurants. The staff here are always very welcoming and accommodating and I have enjoyed room upgrades during quieter times as a reward for my loyalty. The rooms are all very comfortable and warm, with many of them having been refurbished in recent months as well with new bathrooms. Plus, if you love movies and showbusiness, the Hollywood style theming of the hotel will be right up your street!

I think this is the fourth time I've been to the hotel so I know what to expect. It was a nice room - you always want bigger, but it was okay. Two years ago I had a tiny room with no real windows, and I complained; last year I had a room with a lovely double-bed. But you can't expect that every time! It was nice to have a bath as well as a shower, though the bath took ages to fill. Sometimes you need a bath to get all the sand and dirt out! Lots of power outlets, always appreciated. On my recommendation, a friend from work stayed here the week before, and he thought it was a bit noisy at night, with people coming back late. I heard a few loud voices in the early morning hours but that kind of thing doesn't worry me.

There were some hot days during my stay and the room was a bit stuffy at night. I suppose I could have propped the door open. One thing I always mean to say, but now I remember: I only have cereal and toast for breakfast and I would really appreciate it if you'd get some proper cereal bowls - those shallow desert bowls you have aren't designed to hold a lot of liquid and quite a bit falls down my shirt, every time. And I'm not messy, honest! Those bowls are for puddings, not milk. Also, you have the appalling, smug fake-cheerfulness of BBC Breakfast on in the dining room - it makes me realise why I don't watch daytime TV and why I don't watch the BBC. Having the news on is fine but that channel is dreadful.

The location was great, a ten minute walk to the sea front. The room was clean and comfortable. There was a good choice of food at breakfast and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

There were two private functions on when we stayed which was fine but we wanted something to eat on our return from the sea front in the evening and food was nit available to guests who were not in the function rooms. There was another lounge where we could sit and order drinks and we could order food in from outside. However, we had to eat the food in our room! There was only one other family in the lounge and we couldn't understand why on this occasion we couldn't eat in the lounge if there was no hotel food available to us. Eating in our room wasn't ideal with no table and surely having the smell in the room wasn't ideal? Apart from that our stay was great!

The room was an adequate size although my friend who uses a roller walker found it difficult to get past the bottom of the beds. Bathroom a good size but as there was no rail for the bath and the shower was over the end of the bath, we didn't feel safe enough to take a shower. The breakfasts were wonderful. Filled us up for the day!

I had told the hotel my friend required a dairy free diet and they said that was not a problem. However, there was no dairy milk available for her drinks either in the restaurant or the bedroom. We bought some and they were able to keep it in the fridge with our room number on it.

I decided to stay longer than I had booked. I had to change rooms and could only be accommodated for one more day. Both of my rooms were themed. The first was Sean Connery 007 and the second was Star Wars. I have never seen Star Wars, so the theme was lost on me. I was in Bournemouth for two dog shows so I did not have breakfast on those two days, and on the third day I overslept. We were able to visit two local beaches: the lovely sandy beach at Boscombe - about two miles away, and Lyme Regis rocky beach about 56 miles away (I tried to get to Swanage beach, but the traffic was at a standstill nine miles short, so where was nine miles of traffic going to park?) My dog loved both beaches.

My SatNav directed me to the back door where there is a small car park. The front car park is more convenient because both of my rooms led off the front park.

The welcome by Rita was amazing: warm and friendly ... she is a person who excels in interaction with people and being adaptable. She was exceptional at giving us the right information and making us feel special. The room had everything we needed and the hotel was in a great location: only a 10 minute walk from the town and seafront: only 8 minutes away from the Cotes museum, a fantastic display of art, architecture and objet d'art, collected by a couple in the first 20 years of the 20th century. This was a must see collection if you are a lover of the arts.

The breakfast was a let down: the eggs overcooked, no bacon when we arrived and undercooked when we'd asked for it. The orange juice had a chemical flavour, the melon and pin pineapple mix was just not ripe with too much rind and the yoghurt was too sour (had this been out too long?). The point is that the breakfast items weren't checked and replaced if and when needed.
