I had an amazing stay at this hotel! Everything was super clean and tidy, and all the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. My room was absolutely perfect — spacious, beautifully decorated, and I had the most stunning view. I had also requested a room with a bath, and it was ready exactly as I asked, which made my stay even more special. As I was visiting the city to celebrate my birthday, I was so touched to find a "Happy Birthday" card, chocolates, and 2 gin waiting for me when I arrived — such a thoughtful and sweet gesture that made me feel truly celebrated. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

Everything!! Congratulations to The Bristol Hotel. Impressed by ALL of the friendly staff at reception, the bar, at breakfast and the housekeeper who wished us a good journey home. Loved our classic room (big comfy bed, spotless bathroom with generous toiletries & fluffy towels). Great breakfast buffet - included vegan sausage & pastries ***** We arrived by ferry from the station (the city centre stop) & the location is perfect for exploring on foot with restaurants, cafés & pubs all around and after a busy day we enjoyed relaxing in the hotel bar with a cocktail. It's a short walk to College Green for a bus to Clifton suspension bridge. We took a guided tour (Blackbeard to Banksy) which also started at College Green, definitely recommend. The museum M Shed is 5 min walk.
Nothing.

First of all, I have to express my gratitude to the hotel for allowing me to change the date of my stay due to hospitalisation when I was not automatically entitled to do so. Additionally I wish to express my appreciation to the receptionist Neomi (?) for upgrading me just because she could. Very sweet. My first impression of my room was one of quality. Not many hotels at this price provide fluffy white dressing gowns and slippers or quality toiletries. The bed is super comfy. The location is excellent. Other reviews state the hotel is dated. Whilst this is not untrue in some respects, it is not so in others eg it provides an up to date large screen TV and a very modern coffee machine. The dated furniture is still elegant.
My first impression deflated somewhat when I found cleanliness lacking. I would normally not mention this as cleaning staff are often low paid and overburdened. However, it was too consistent to overlook. There was a long black hair on my dressing gown, three hairs in the bath, an accumulation of dust on the otherwise beautiful table lamps, finger prints on the elegant round mirror, crumbs on the chair and a few bits of fluff on the sheet. What a pity. It would be interesting to see if action has been taken to rectify this if I return in August. I pray management take on board that low pay and a high workload may contribute to this shortfall.

The hotel was well placed in the old town of Bristol with a car park right next door, which was handy. £18 for 24 hours parking. The staff were super helpful and friendly. The room was modern, clean and super well stocked with lovely toiletries, tea, coffee and biscuits, armchair and pouffe and large selection of TV channels. I never sleep well 1st night in a hotel but the room was nice and quiet.
I would love to have had the option of hypoallergenic pillows and maybe firmer ones too. We opted for no breakfast as, on the surface, it seemed a little pricy - but I can't verify this as I didn't experience it - it may have been the best breakfast ever!

The location is very central and the room was well priced for a Saturday stay in a large UK city. The room was adequate for my needs, had a kettle in the room, with a hard bed and had a pleasant rain shower un the bathroom. The restaurant was another bonus, as it looks out over the river and had a lovely scenic atmosphere with a pianist playing upstairs, was serviced to a good standard and had a good fish orientated menu.
The noise late at night was bad, but should have been expected for a Saturday night and I would take that factor into account when booking another stay and book a different room away from the front of the hotel, which has busy late night traffic.

The room was fantastic, very clean & no stray hairs anywhere, the location was amazing as it backed onto the canal & was at the centre of the city so great access to all the tourist attractions. Our seating for breakfast was overlooking the canal & the options for breakfast were extensive & of very good quality. The staff were attentive & extremely helpful in all areas from reception to the waiting staff at breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble from allowing us to leave our luggage on arrival so we could explore before our room was ready to the staff at breakfast to them allowing us again to leave our luggage after checking out so we could continue our tour of the city before our train departure. This hotel exceeded all my expectations in all areas & we had a fantastic time & we will definitely be coming back here again, 5 stars 🤩
Nothing wrong with anything

We didn't have breakfast as we'd had a huge meal the evening before, celebrating a birthday. The rooms were all spotlessly clean, comfy and on the 6th floor with good views, some of the city, some of the river. Bathrooms great with quality toiletries. Fabulous shower, both overhead and handheld hose .... don't get those often !! Loved the small bathroom light which lit the underneath of the washbasin which meant there wasn't a bright light when entering to wake other room occupant at night. Switch next to the main bathroom light. Location is excellent for alternative eateries both budget and higher end should you wish to venture further than the hotel which does have a beautiful restaurant Hotel reception staff are just so welcoming, smart and efficient. Luggage storage available both prior and post stay if, as we had trains later than check out time. Not an issue at all. Bar and housekeeping staff all smart and friendly All in all, and excellent stay in a really lovely hotel.
That we couldn't stay longer

Our staff Christmas party was held at The Bristol, so perfect to stay over. Great central location to visit other attractions in Bristol. Lovely to have a room upgrade with a water front view, thanks. Comfy bed and pillows. Loved the Christmas decorations and trees in the foyer. Friendly and helpful staff.
If I was being super-picky I'd mention the height of the hook in the bathroom - not designed for short people like me to hang their dressing gown on! Also would be lovely to have a nozzle on the hairdryer to diffuse the heat, and a longer flex to make it easier to plug in and see in the mirror to dry one's hair. However, these are very minor things.

The location was brilliant for our stay, you cannot get more central! It was perfect for us to be able to head back to our room whenever we needed a break from exploring, and before heading back out for the evening. The staff were friendly and happy to help whenever we had any questions. The room itself was lovely, comfortable and clean. We had a room overlooking the harbour with beautiful views of Bristol, but it is worth baring in mind the clubs across the harbour are very loud! We still slept well despite this but you may struggle if you’re a light sleeper.
It was great being able to park right next to the hotel but a shame that it cost us £32 for the 48 hours. Especially seeing as the car park is attached to the hotel. Understandable to a degree with how central the hotel is and it being Bristol, but still an added expense to our stay. An expense that quickly racks up the longer you’re there.

Our room was very spacious and extremely comfortable. The buffet breakfast was fantastic with a great selection of both, savory and sweet , to choose from. The Bar offers a great selection of cocktails and it's open until late which is great. The entire ground floor smells amazing! The staff was very friendly and the reservation team was extremely helpful and accommodating, huge thank to them! The location is just perfect; just by the river in the liveliest area of town and a short walk from the train station. We loved our stay, thanks again!
