Location perfect, staff helpful. Ordering drinks sometimes took much longer than expected.I think on my trip there was a lad very new to bar work. You were allowed to eat food on the premises that was purchased elsewhere. Free live musical entertainment. Great teamwork.

I was disappointed that my wishes to have a bottom bunk bed weren't fulfilled. I expected the shared room that accomaded 4 would be the same size as London YHA and would have a locker that would not require purchase of a padlock. No plug in sink and water too hot to wash face in sink. Great for a short trip.

Stayed for the proximity to the O2 Academy (was in the city attending a gig) and it was a lovely location! Staff was really helpful, allowing me to leave my bag in luggage stores while I waited to be able to check in and went about with some friends in the city, and were also super helpful with letting me back in after the gig was over in the evening!

There wasn't particularly anything I had any qualms with while staying there - maybe the fact it was a Saturday night didn't help me much with sleeping but that's not the property's fault at all. Lovely stay all the way through!

Really great location. Staff were lovely. Check in straightforward. Bag storage was really helpful.

They use the space as a training facility, so the students were using the bathrooms on the floor. It meant there was no toilet paper in the bathroom and no one refilled it the whole night I was there. I think if they are using the space for training, they also need to keep an eye on this. Yes I could have gone down and asked, but doing down in my pjs after a long day exploring was not something I wanted to do. The main entrance is a little hidden so I ended up walking around the whole street before realising the sign for the cafe was the hostel.

The location was great, within walking distance of all the places I wanted to visit in one day. The staff gave me some recommendations for places to eat breakfast.

The shelves in the luggage room looked like they were about to collapse at any minute. Neither could I lock my little locker where I left my personal belongings in the locker room. The WiFi didn’t work. The staff had messed up my booking somehow: I had booked a room for one, but they placed me in a room with 4 beds. Luckily, I still got to have my “private room.

I loved the security with the key cards. You needed them to access every corridor and the lift, so even if someone did tailgate someone in, they wouldn't get very far. I also liked that the place was clean and tidy and the bed was both supportive and comfortable. The large locker under the bed for each person was super useful. Although breakfast for those with a wheat allergy was limited, the chef was reassuring with her knowledge and also toasted gf bread in a separate grill. The location was ideal for exploring the city too. I would stay again.

There was nowhere to put your clean clothes whilst showering as the only hook was inside the shower. Lucky I had a waterproof bag with me, but just a hook on the outside of the shower would have been helpful here. Also there was an unnecessary cross contamination risk in the restaurant where the cutlery was placed directly after the toaster and bread rolls. If the cutlery stand and the bread + toaster were swapped round, people with wheat allergies would be much safer.

The price was good for 4 people and the expectation of the room was very good as we have an individual bathroom and a place to shower. Unfortunately, the city doesn't keep the places open so we can enjoy good restaurants and unfortunately I didn't remember the restaurant in the place itself. Next time, for sure, I will use the restaurant and if the expectation of the hostel was good, I will definitely like the restaurant too. I will recommend to my friends the good place to sleep well and comfortably.

They should try a discount for parking. This the city owed because it was too expensive to leave the car for one night.

The hostel is located conveniently in the heart of the harbourside area, which was fantastically close to a lot of great attractions, nightlife places, and the main square, where almost all mainline public buses run through. I was in the 4-bed dorm, which I think is a good number for a bunk bed room without curtains per bed. The facility is well-maintained despite signs of aging. The staffs were friendly and super helpful.

Some beds may have slightly different facilities within the same room; for example, my bed didn't have a power socket, and the reading lamp and the USB plug didn't work, while my neighbor beds have them all working well. I could only use a floor-level socket, and since I was assigned a top bunk bed, it was quite inconvenient. Additionally, my room was facing the harbour, which is a center of nightlife, and since it was a warm night we had to leave the window open, so it was a bit noisy in the evening. But other than that, the place was definitely satisfactory for me.

Most things went very well:)

There was a heatwave, and the 6 men in the room were all trying to keep cool. Unfortunately, nobody noticed that the bar which should be keeping the only window open was broken. When people opened the window, it silently closed again. So the room became very hot. Also the usb charging ports by the beds: those separate from the light worked, while those in a fixture integrated with the light did not. (Of the few I tried)

I loved the working space on the mezzanine where I could concentrate and order coffee/lunch from the bar. I would definitely recommend this hostel to digital nomads and remote workers. Also, YHA Bristol is located right in the city centre which makes it a perfect starting point for any trips around and outside of the town.

The bathrooms. There's no space to put your stuff while you're taking the shower. I had to leave them unattended in the toilet which was very inconvenient and gave me some anxiety. The hostel should either organise some hooks or shelves in the showers or fix the lock on the doors to the showers/toilets area.

Second time staying here, James was good, I got checked in by 2.30am because was on a late flight and was aloud to check out at 11am bless him. Happy this hostel is always having night staff on and is flexible and understanding. Good comfortable beds and very central and close to bars and the station. Wifi, all that you need. Always staying at this hostel when in bristol

Would be nice to have body wash in the showers
