The guesthouse is very nice. All the staff were extremely friendly and genuine. I think you can always tell when hotel staff are treated well and I hope I'm right in believing it's reflected in the service! Had a great rapport with them and they are a major part of what I enjoyed about staying here. The room was spotless. I especially liked that they provided oat milk on the coffee tray in the room, I had never seen that before and it is great for lactose sensitive people like me. The bed was comfy and the room was warm.

The only thing is that the toilet facilities are small and were far from the room. I know that I booked for a shared bathroom but it would have been good to know in advance it was one and a half flights of stairs away, it would be a worry for someone with mobility issues who might not be phased by climbing up to the room once a day fully ready, but could struggle at night or when carrying toiletries.

Incredibly helpful and friendly reception from staff. Helpful with instructions, places to visit in Exeter, stored my luggage, etc. Location was great for accessing city center, historic sights, restaurants, etc. Room did not come with breakfast, but coffee and tea and electric kettle in the room. The hotel was interested in sustainability - a plus, and included organic peppermint tea and oat-based creamer for hot drinks. It is a nice, no frills, clean, friendly place for a short stay. Most important was the support from staff. I even had help with my luggage up the stairs - important as there is no lift.

The bathroom was shared with the other rooms on the floor, a bit awkward to access in the middle of the night, and was not right next door to my room; open to hallway with separate rooms for shower, bath/toilet and toilet, but not private/shared bathroom as I had anticipated. But facilities were clean and functional.

I think the room was a little difficult as it was a loft conversion so there were angles in awkward places and the TV could not very easily be watched in comfort, but these I would not normally mention as the price was low and I was very happy overall. I also have to say that I did not enjoy the short time I spent in the recommended breakfast place up the road which I found unacceptably careless and apparently oblivious of customers (I was directed to a seat, given a menu and then ignored for several minutes (apparently I then had to go to the counter and join a queue to order a breakfast so that the two young men behind the counter could continue to talk and joke with each other, showing photos on their phones. I just walked out and went to Bill's, which was excellent but expensive.

The hotel is in a beautiful old building. Close to public transport and the city centre. There were coffee and tea making facilities in the room and a good coffee machine in reception. The staff were always super friendly and helpful. My single room was small but comfortable. The bathroom was nearby and was always spotless. Having a sink in the room was very helpful.

My only suggestion would be to have hooks on the back of the bathroom and shower doors for hanging one's clothes. Also I found the pillows to be a bit hard.

I arrived and realised I had not specially requested a bath, the lady was amazing and found me a twin with shared bath, for my daughter who was staying with me as Uni Halls have no bath. She was friendly and could not have been more helpful. She also gave us a 10% coupon for Zuki cafe amazing breakfast - whole experience fantastic (So Room 8 great value and a bath)

It as all brilliant, hot tip get off at Exeter Central I did not know it is a simple 10 mins walk no taxi is needed, but St David Station all up hill so would not recommend that or a taxi rank is there

Great location, easily walkable to everywhere in town, and super helpful staff.

I was originally placed in a room with a mouldy bathroom and a broken window latch but the staff were very nice about moving me to another room. Apparently they're about to renovate the place, but they really shouldn't be selling that room in the meantime.

Unfortunately my shower didn't drain away very well and I had to stop using it before it reached the shower door! Being close to the front door I did hear people coming in at night/ chatting etc as they went up the stairs but this didn't go on too late

I was travelling from Burnham to exeter ,I emailed them so that I can check in earlier since I'll arrive at 0445am.They are so kind and allow me to check in earlier.They were so good and I could take a nap after my long traveling.This place is near to the train station walking distance.I really appreciate the staff and they hospitality.Thank you so much.This place is recommended.

Bathroom is sharing...so it's Abit inconvenience for me. No fan in this room..but it's okay I can adjust my self accordingly.

The location is brilliant, close to town, train stations and close to work. The room is a good size, easy to get to the garden, room is warm and very clean. The room is always ready for me to move in and management made allowances for me to check in earlier than 3 clock in afternoon. Management is helpful, flexible with booking in and booking out. Easy to approach and so is all the staff that I have met so far.

Very cozy place, loved the room, it was really clean everywhere . The soap, shower gel and shampoo all vegan friendly, which was brilliant:) Also, staff was welcoming and very friendly. Many thanks to Peter from the reception who helped me get my massive suitcase upstairs! Lovely selection of tea and coffee in the room too. Very close to city centre but at the same time quiet. Will be visiting again :)
