I had one of their small budget rooms so small room, shared bathroom, basic shower (although hot enough) and a ridiculously small tv (laptop size - difficult to see from the bed - seriously! - argos sells loads of 32 inch tvs for under £150 or even a 24 inch at less than £120!) That said the room was clean, nicely done, the landlady was excellent and the location between a great weatherspoons, the station and the town was superb - in Exeter I can't see you getting better at the price

The reviews that I read prior to booking were spot on. Oakcliffe is a 6-minute walk from the Exeter St Davids train station. The hotel is on St Davids Hill Rd, so yes, there is a wee bit of a climb. Loraine & Bill were very welcoming; they made me feel right at home. The bed and pillows were comfortable. There's a sink with soap, mirror and towel. There are hooks on the wall and door tor hang clothes. There's a pot to heat water for coffee or tea. There's also a desk. The toilet is one floor above ground level. Breakfast is served in the lovely living room where you meet other guests. I met some very nice people. The hotel is very near town center. Lots of history. Buses ran everywhere I needed to go. I was able to visit Ottery St Mary and Tipton St John by bus. There are two train stations, the aforementioned Exeter St Davids and Exeter Central.

I can't think of anything negative to say. The weather for the most part was great. There were some very light showers throughout the entire week I was there.

The service I received was excellent. Lorraine, the lady who I presume manages the premises, communicated with me from the time I booked in a courteous and friendly manner. When I arrived, she couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful.

Nothing. I really like the location, the property and the service I received. The room was small but very clean and had enough light, USB plus in the sockets and a washbasin. The bed was also very comfortable,

The hotel is very close to the train station, less than 10 mins walk. I was warmly welcomed upon my arrival and accompanied to my room. The room was the right size for my 2-night stay, basic but cosy and had everything you might need.

There isn't anything I didn't like. The only small improvement I can suggest is to have darker blinds/curtains for good sleep, especially during the summertime.

An Excellent location near to St Davids train station and very close walk to the city centre. I had a single room which was comfortable, stocked well with tea and coffee. Lorraine was a warm and genuine host. And very helpful.

For me this was perfect for my needs.

The Landlady Lorraine she was friendly my room even though it was on the Top floor was comfortable I do have trouble climbing stairs you see

First morning breakfast I had which two items I didn't like sausage which was soft& sloppy didn't taste nice and Hash brown which should have been crunchy but was soft& squiggy So the 2nd morning did ask for the Hash brown and the sausage to be replaced with and extra slice of bacon and extra firm fried egg which was supplied and was better

Location was decent. Five minute walk to Exeter St David’s and 10 minute walk to city centre. It did have free car parking out the back - 4 spaces, which is massively useful. It’s a tight squeeze though, so big cars would struggle. Owners were lovely. I’d recommend this place to others.

WiFi wasn’t amazing but were only there one night so I can’t complain. I relied on 4G.

Very close to St David's station. A very clean and tidy guest-house. Booked a single room and despite its rather small size it had one of the most comfortable hotel bed I ever slept on. The staff is super friendly and helpful and they offer a good breakfast. It will seem a bit compact at first glance, but it wasn't an issue at all for someone on a short visit to the city. I've also seen other rooms and they have a wide variety that can match the needs for all sort of travelers, so try to contact them to know exactly what type of room you would prefer to book as the room layouts differ A LOT. Would definately recommend as a value-for-money choice.

Short and early window for breakfast. The room was a bit cold for me as they only turned on the radiator on certain short hours during the day so it made it hard to stay comfortable in the room without wearing a winter jacket at all times, but the bed covers are thick and warm so wasn't that big of an issue during the night. Also be aware that since it is an older house there will be a decent stairs climb since all rooms are on the first and second floor in case someone has a mobility issues but shouldn't be a problem for the avarage traveler.

The room was cosy and comfy, and it although the bathroom/toilet was shared, there was still a sink in the room which was nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful and everything was very clean.

I didn't realise that the parking was limited to 3-4 cars, but I may have missed this information. Thankfully Train Station parking was only a 5 minute walk away, but it does cost £12 a day.

Comfortable, quiet and clean room with everything I needed. The hotel was a short walk away from shops and restaurants , and 4 minute drive from my work destination. Lorraine is a warm and friendly host, it was a very short stay, I hope to return for leisure at some point

Nothing to dislike, it was good value and convenient.
