The building and facilities were exceptional .very clean, loved the pool facilities. The food was amazing ,particularly liked the eco room cleaning policy. Dining and Bar staff also amazing.Cant fault them.

We arrived , issue with pc system, checked in and got vaguely pointed towards where our room was located, no offer of help with bags. Requested tea and coffee on two separate days and got told they would be bought up but unfortunately weren’t on both occasions. There are two sand filled ashtrays on the patio, these were used to deposit dog poo bags, unfortunately the same bags were in it for most of our stay and one guest had placed an unbagged poo in it . I felt this unhygienic so raised it with reception. Shortly afterwards. The bagged poo was removed but the unbagged poo was still in it when we left.

Booked a deluxe room that was to include a minibar. No minibar in the room, were told by staff that it’s been corporate policy to remove all minibars.

Lovely staff, friendly and accommodating. Excellent clean room with large bath and over-bath shower. I had a cosy room which was perfect for one, would definitely be cosy for two! Bistro staff were delightful and very friendly. Food was good, in the morning there was a great range of options for breakfast.

There is a small amount of parking at the hotel, which must be reserved in advance. The closest car park is Magdalene Road, which is down the road and round the corner. It would be a bit of a hike if you were carrying heavy bags or maybe weren't quite nimble. Parking cost in excess of £10.

Hotel is in a perfect location for city, quay and exploring! Very Limited pre-bookable parking on site, but there is an NCP payable car park just across the road next to hotel, which is convenient. You can drop off and pick up at hotel entrance though. We had the Deluxe room and it was spacious and very comfortable, and extremely quiet considering the busy road outside. Very good amenities in room. Overall, hotel has been refurbed to a high standard. And the bar area is lovely!

Hotel is a little expensive, to be honest. Considering our room included breakfast, it was just a very basic continental breakfast! There was a cooked breakfast menu, but it was £22 per person - a lot for avocado and poached egg on one slice of toast! Also, the Deluxe room - although lovely and spacious, there was a lot of wall space but only a tiny wardrobe which also housed the ironing board. Thankfully, we only had two things to hang up! And the bathroom - there is no shelving at all. Hence, nowhere to put toiletry bags etc - we had to put them elsewhere…or on the floor. Just little things to tweak. But would we stay again - yes!

My room was ready as I was an early arrival. Thank you. My room was cold but when I spoke to reception, the lovely member of staff immediately 'overrode' the heating system and it was comfortable afterwards. Feather pillows!!! Fabulous and rare in many hotels. Don't ever change that. Great bed. I came by train so needed taxis - all of which were organised by reception. All staff members, in all spheres, were warm and welcoming. Good training I suspect. As a single diner, I asked at Reception for a table at the side and not in the middle. The restaurant manager mentioned this on my arrival and provided a perfect table. Good quality biscuits in room. I was out to lunch so didn't have breakfast but the £155 DBB rate was good value even without that. I suspect I may have been over time in checking out but there was no hassle or pressure regarding that. Thank you. I'll be back.

No scallops which were on the menu and I was looking forward to. Couldn't get to sit in the bar as a private function dominating. Tough night for the staff covering a number of rooms so I had a very long wait for pudding. I understand that staff have their 'own' tables to cover but I felt stripping a table while I had no service was insensitive. Thank you to the lovely guy who realised I was waiting and asked if I'd like the menu. Didn't need it ! it was always going to be the choc delice. Fab...

Great central location, just a 5 minute walk to Christmas market and high street shops. We had a warm welcome and great service from all the staff. Our rooms were all very clean and beautifully presented. The bed was very comfortable with a lovely duvet. We also ate dinner at the restaurant and enjoyed a lovely menu, great service and beautiful decor. We had pre reserved a car parking space so that was available to us on arrival.

Car parking is potentially an issue here. There are limited spaces at the hotel and the nearby car park seemed constantly full. We did book ahead and that worked very well, so I would recommend you book a parking space if you need one.

Qeueing up for coffee felt a bit awkward – would have been nicer to have staff serving coffee and coming around to refill. A very minor complaint

Its position was very good, just a short walk from the town centre. The staff were helpful and the food was lovely. It was a shame that we were unable to get an appointment for a treatment in the spa, as it was already fully booked and we had particularly booked this hotel because it had spa facilities - perhaps we should have booked our treatments before we arrived. One other point to mention is that the water temperature of our shower and bath facilities was particularly difficult to regulate. Otherwise a lovely well situated hotel.

Having stayed before we knew that it was an ideal location for our needs, has extra comfortable beds, super showers, is very dog friendly and the staff are all extremely helpful & friendly

Unfortunately there was building works going on at the time of our stay and the back of the hotel was covered in scaffolding, which meant we were put in a front room which is very near to a busy road and as the weather was extremely hot we had to open the windows which was very noisy. We realise that due to the repair works being carried out this was un-avoidable and as such will not put us off booking with Hotel Du Vin in the future when we are next in Exeter as it is otherwise usually a very comfortable hotel.

We were able to have the restaurant menu in our room as room service. I wasn't feeling well and did not want to venture out to the restaurant. It cost £5 to deliver, which is less than we would have paid for a tip. Receptionist was very helpful. Were able to phone and get a parking space that morning, which was free. But that was lucky, I would book in advance if you can. Unfortunately, as I was ill, I couldn't use the pool but was glad they had one.

Nothing. I really like the Hotel du Vin brand. Although my husband tells me the French is incorrect, it shouldn't be du.
